"I kind of want to try singing…" she said this with a curious look on her face. Her boyfriend responded by saying "the. Why don't you try?"
"Because I won't be good at it and I don't want people to hear me," she said with a sad look on her face. Now that she had said it she really wanted to try it. She had kind of experimented with writing lyrics but that was as far as she got. "Well why don't we go to my house? My parents won't be there and the only one there is my brother. We'll cheer you on!"
"…well…okay." She said with some hesitation. She called her mom and said she would be going over to his house and her mom agreed.
After school they went to his house surprising his brother. "Eh! What are you doing here!?"
"…" she was too embarrassed to say anything so she chose to keep quiet. After all she wasn't used to saying she was going to sing. Seeing as how she wasn't going to say her boyfriend spoke up and said "she going to sing! She even has her own lyrics" it almost seemed as if he was bragging and she just buried her face and in her hands in embarrassment.
"Ooohh! Sounds cool! Can I listen!?" His brother asked with shining eyes. Feeling a little burdened she caved in and said yes.
It was time to sing and she had gotten her lyrics out.
"I reach my hand
To lead you to the light
Just take my hand
I'll lead you to where is right
You can reach the sky
You can shine so bright
You can do anything
Because you're you
You no longer have to be in
The darkness
I'll swallow it whole
I'll take you to the light
…so take my hand"
Her voice was soft and pleasant to hear. It made you feel emotional, kind of like she was talking to you. The boys just sat there in shock. When she saw their faces she said, "was it that bad?" She asked with a frowning face. The didn't say anything for a while when finally her boyfriend said "that… WAS AMAZING! I knew you'd be this awesome!"
"Eh?"
Then his brother said "you sounded like an angel, hey angel, grant me a kiss~" her boyfriend looked at him disgusted and said "shut up!" Then they started arguing and when she saw this she lightly smiled.
