-Reyha Royal Palace; Underground Area; Summoning Room-
The other 3 armored individuals, immediately got ready to charge at the red-haired girl, but then.
"Stop! Stop it! Have you forgotten what we came here to do!!?" The young lady in a fancy dress questioned.
Her hair was long, curly, and golden, complemented by her green eyes. She exuded elegance and moved graciously in a quite alluring way, but always maintaining an air of friendliness. Unlike what some would expect from such a figure, she was actually reasonably muscular, the point, even the orange-haired young man, might actually have competition for who is the most muscular in the room, that is if we exclude the armored individuals. On her head, a tiara with a golden glint could be found and under that, she had a pink dress with a more classical style, only enchanted by the necklace and long white gloves, she was wearing together with the equally pink high heels. In the end, her figure was more imposing than her height would suggest as she was 1,60cm(5'2ft).
This made all of the armored people stop, as wouldn't dare disobey a direct order like that, unless absolutely necessary.
Following this, the blond young lady stood in front of the currently confused people, while her armored knights are paying close attention to the still-armed red-haired girl.
"I'm very sorry to all of you for such an unpleasant surprise. I'm sure you're all somewhat confused and or scared, and I just wanted to reassure you, that we mean no harm to any of you. If you have any questions about the current situation, I'll answer them to the best of my abilities, but before that allow me to introduce myself. I'm Merilyn Ven Reyha, the 3rd princess of the Reyha Kingdom." Merilyn spoke calmly and made sure to bow as if she had just finished a show, once she was done speaking by coughing slightly and lifting her dress only as much as necessary.
"What's going on?!... don't even get me started on where we are?... Why do you people bring us here? And... How?!" The green-haired young lady immediately posed her questions.
Even though some seemed to want the ask something else, the silence was left to dominate as they were more interested in getting answers for the first questions and then thinking about asking their own.
"To put it simply, you have all experienced death, and were judged by one of the Gods, to be worthy of becoming heroes in our world. You see, you are no longer in your own world and instead find yourselves in ours, Tefrat... More specifically in the Meshvenia continent, and in our Kingdom, Reyha, at the capital city of Gallo. The why is something we can get into once we reach the throne room, but know that this world is in grave danger. How?... Well, I myself am not all too familiar with the specifics, but it seems your souls were rescued e by one of the Gods before they offered you a new physical body, and we on this side opened a pathway for that physical vessel new containing the soul, to enter our world... At least that's the theory. I hope these answers are what you were looking for." Merilyn explained, answering almost all the questions with a smile on her face, and the sweetest of tones in each word said.
The green-haired young lady, the orange-haired young man, and the black-haired young man all had the same expression and dissatisfaction carrying the words 'Am I supposed to believe that?', as if their intelligence had just been insulted. The red-haired girl on the other hand had the same cold expression and was still on high alert with her musket ready if needed.
"I understand your disbelief, that is why I bid you to say or think the words 'Status Screen' and you will see that what I say is the truth. Even still, if that is not enough, I have another way to prove the veracity of my words." Merilyn expressed being calm and understanding of their side of things.
It was quite obvious that the reason no one has snapped yet is the presence of the armored knights and the armed child.
""Status screen"" The green-haired young lady and the orange-haired young man said out loud, while it seems the black-haired young man chose to think it.
All of them showed different degrees of surprise at what followed, but it was a surprise nonetheless.
"Did we get sent into a video game?" The black-haired young man was the right one to comment on it.
"This is insane... Are we really seeing this?..." The orange-haired young man was in complete disbelief.
"This makes no sense?... Why is this happening?" The green-haired young lady was simply confused even further.
Having been faced with this odd reality, the three of them, weren't sure how to feel at all. Did this mean they are all dead? If so what of their lives before this? The people and things in their lives... It was all gone?...
The silence permeated the room to a level it had not before since they woke up in this weird place.
"Take your time. I can't imagine how you must feel, to discover something like this happened. Whenever you feel ready people call for us. Oh and your meals will be brought to you in a while, so you don't have to worry about that." Merilyn announced before leaving with her knight who carried the frozen knight out of the room, before locking the metal door again.
-Later-
The food had already been delivered and consumed, but silence was still a major point in the room. The expressions weren't the best and it wasn't expected that it would get any better, anytime soon.
"Hey man, how are you holding up?" The black-haired young man asked the orange-haired young man.
"I'm never seeing my siblings, my parents, my friends, or my girlfriend ever again. How do you think I feel?! This is some bullshit! How did I die?! I know me! I would never let myself go knowing how much I have to lose! And now I'm just supposed to accept that this is it!! My life is now this random mess that makes no sense?! Wasn't death supposed to be the eternal rest?!... Well, there must be a mistake, 'cause I'm very much awake..." The orange-haired young man looked at the black-haired young man, only seriousness and pain could be found on his face as tears build up but never dared to fall from his eyes.
"... Damn... I'm nothing like that... I've wanted to die for a while now... Well, at least that's what I thought I wanted, but now... I don't know, it feels weird... I'm just still hoping we find out we've just been kidnapped or that we are in some stupid prank show... Whatever! I just don't feel like I did all I had to... I thought my life didn't have any point anymore, but at the moment all the things I could have done just keep hammering in my head, like a stupid jingle that won't go away... I'm just mad at myself... I guess some things never change even after death..." Without being prompted to, the black-haired young man expressed himself in the same way, with the difference that he couldn't contain his tears.
"Hey... I'm Leopold..." The orange-haired man said.
"Fritz... That's my name..." The black-haired young man responded.
Once again their words were followed by silence, but one that felt a bit less overbearing.
In time, Fritz got up and walked to the green-haired young lady and asked. "Not to bother you or anything, but what's your deal?"
"My deal?... With that you mean." She questioned.
"We both talked a bit about how we feel, and I thought that you might want to do the same. It's not a solution, but it definitely made me feel a bit better." Fritz suggested.
"I don't think... You know what, fuck it. You two who miss your lives will probably not understand me, but I'm relieved and disappointed... On one side I no longer have to deal with my family's bullshit... On the other hand, I never truly got to shut them up or prove them wrong... In the end, I died the failure they deemed me, and... I don't know, that just rubs me the wrong way... Not to mention the few people who actually cared about me... It's just dumb that I let myself die like that... Anyway, thank you... I needed that." The green-haired girl talked with visible frustration and even a few tears let out.
As Fritz turned around to go back to his corner.
"Oh, and it's Heather…" She declared.
"Huh?.." Fritz was caught by surprise.
"She means her name. I'm honestly getting more and more confused on whether you're some kind of genius or an idiot." Leopold commented.
"Yeah, of course, I go it." He said with an awkward smile.
"Hehe... Don't listen to him. You're ok." Heather replied to Fritz.
From then on they give each other some time.
Meanwhile, that was going on, in their corner the red-haired girl and Kymani are dealing with their own dilemma.
{As I had thought, Master, you'll be unable to communicate with others until you consume something that allows you to, or met a telepath. Until then, I hope our connection through the system is enough for you.} The red-haired girl using their connection through the system, telepathically talked to Kymani.
{So it's really like that... Oh well, it's ok. The more pressing matter is to solve my blindness... Wait... Is that even solvable?... Also, I don't think you told me your name yet, all you said is that you're a physical manifestation of the system born from my desire or something like that.} Kymani said.
{Don't worry master, it's indeed possible to give you eyesight. You just need to first learn how to control mana or consume something that can see. As for my name, as per your desires, I'm Lavenica Ismene, a dark elf, and your personal maid.} Lavenica explained.
{Of course... I guess I'll be blind for a bit. Anyway, I understand that you were trying to protect me and all, but don't just go around making enemies like that! It'll make things difficult for me when I try to build relations with them. I'm the Apostle or at least a follower of like 5 Divines, and a Hero. I need a good reputation and as many allies as I can get my hands on... And most importantly, making too many enemies will get in the way of building a harem... I mean completing my heroic tasks for the Divine. Though I'm fine with you killing anyone who tries anything against you or shows clear ill intent against me if the situation is appropriate.} Kymani reprimanded.
{My apologies master, but I must say that if you find yourself in need of affection, I'm present.} Lavenica expressed.
{We'll get to that when I'm in... Better shape... For now, the focus will be to restore my sight and then the rest.} Kymani replied.
As they were having their conversation, Fritz came close and lifted his arms as if to say he comes in peace, before the words left his mouth. "I mean no harm... I'm just here to say that I'm sorry kid.. I mean girl?... Honestly, I don't know what to call you, the point is, I panicked... But I mean you had a gun to my face... It can't all be my fault... All in all, I have we can end on good terms, and if not, I respect that."
"I'm Lavenica and master say... I mean, I don't mind it. We all make mistakes, and I suppose I'm sorry as well." Lavenica seemed to have a hard time smiling for Fritz making it look as forced as it was.
"Yeah... Anyway, if you need to talk to can go to Heather, Leopold, and even me if you feel like it. Right now, we want to go talk to princess to get an idea of what's going on, and you can join in if you want to." Fritz explained before turning around and leaving.
{Just go with them, I want to get the general gist of the situation.} Kymani ordered.
The time for them to get a better understanding of their situation was finally coming.
