SECOND DAY OF QUARANTINE
The next day, Millie woke up to the buzz of her phone. There was a message from an unknown number.
"Hey Millie
How you doing?
It's Mike, the police officer
Hope you are happy with the things
Especially the gift box ;)
Hope you guessed who kept it there
Please don't hesitate to call me or drop me a text if you need anything
Take care"
Millie read that message again and again. She was wondering how on the earth did he get her phone number. She rarely shares it with anyone. Then she thought to reply. But confused at the same time about what to reply to that message. Definitely not something that he might think she is trying to flirt back.
"I'm doing good
Thank you for the gift...
By the way, from where did you get my phone number?"
Millie typed that and deleted it. Drowned in her own thoughts for a while. She started remembering things that she should not, and she didn't want them to happen once again in her life. So she typed a short message which did not look friendly at all, and she was satisfied with that.
"How did you get my phone number?"
Millie looked at the message for a second and pressed send. Then she stretched herself along with the weak noise of Scooby doo. As usual, she cleaned up, made herself coffee, poured milk for Scooby, and walked towards the garden. She did not need to worry about being in the garden because nobody was out of their house at this time of the early morning. Everyone came out after sunrise. So she happily sat on her garden bench and started enjoying the coffee while Scooby drank his milk and roam around the garden. Scooby wagged his tail slower than the other days. He clearly seemed to miss being outside the house but no enough energy to be active.
Millie was busy arranging her notes on the laptop after having breakfast that she didn't have any time to check the phone at all. After the work was completed, she took her notebook on which she wrote down the things to do in the next two weeks.
"Before doing any of these I should design my own journal and start writing in it."
Millie thought for herself. She picked up her phone to check Pinterest for some creative ideas to design a bullet journal. Then she saw the text message from the same number that she received this morning. She opened the message quickly.
"After all, I'm a higher police officer dear.
Wouldn't I be able to find something simple as your phone number?
How is the second day of quarantine so far?
Hope you don't mind me messaging ;)"
Millie read that and kept the phone aside without replying. She didn't want to create any conversation between them. Already she couldn't get out of the trauma caused by the love of her life, and she didn't want to get committed any sooner.
"Is it the second day or the first day of my isolation?
I got a call on Monday asking me to stay inside the house.
Mmmm then I started being under quarantine yesterday. So, yesterday was day one and today is day two."
Millie found some nice ideas to design her own bullet journal from the Pinterest app. She started looking for a nice book to pour all her ideas of journaling into. Then she found the book that Ryan gave her at the beginning of this year. She took the book and started turning the pages of it. There was nothing written except "with love, from Ryan". At first, Millie hesitated to even look at the book, but then she decided to use the book for her journal as she could not go to the bookstore to buy a new bullet journaling book. All she wanted to do was to heal her heart and take it away from the pain that Ryan caused her. She had to be braver than ever to do this.
Finally, Millie gained strength and walked towards her study table. She still didn't feel good. So she decided to make herself a mug of coffee. Millie also lit a scented candle and kept it nearby so she would feel better with the smell of lavender.
Millie started the journal by designing the first page of the book. She felt very happy looking at the beautiful picture on the front page of her bullet journal. Then she turned the page to see a beautiful calendar of the current year. She started thinking about the special days to mark in the calendar but left that page for later. After the calendar, there was a page for the goals of the year. Millie copied the goals from her diary which she had already planned and written down at the beginning of the year. Her goals were very simple. They were the things she always wanted to achieve in her life.
Then Millie intended to include a "year in a glance into her journal. She wrote the heading carefully and drew twelve boxes for the twelve months of the year. Then there were a few extra pages for yearly spreads. Suddenly she got the idea of writing some positive affirmations to motivate herself. She wrote down a few motivational phrases inside cloudy circles and outlined them beautifully. Also, she kept a blank page to write what makes her happy.
"Hmmm, what else?
Yesss... I always have to go through my drawers when I need to send someone my bank details.
Should keep it written down in my journal. Then I can find them easily."
Millie wrote down her bank account details on one page. Then she remembered she always wanted to save money but ended up spending them as she had no track of the savings. She drew a beautiful mason jar as her savings tracker and drew some dollars every here and there on the page. She also divided the jar into twelve parts so she can write down how much she has saved each month of the year.
It was almost an hour passed Millie's usual lunchtime. She hurried to check Scooby, but she looked so sick and pale. Millie wanted to take her to the hospital but then she remembered that she cannot go out of the house. She kept some milk for Scooby and made herself a nice Mediterranean salad with Parmesan cheese. She had her lunch while thinking of what else to add to her journal. Then something popped into her mind out of nowhere. Millie tends to forget her passwords all the time. So she thought of adding a page for writing down her password lists.
Millie had a quick nap after having lunch.
She came back into journaling as she did not have anything else to do on that day. She drew tiny icons of the platforms that she wanted to save the passwords of. Then she wrote down the username and the password in front of the icon. Millie felt so happy that she could finally have her journal. She included a list of books to read, movies to watch and tv shows to be watched in the next three pages. Millie wanted to be creative as well as organized with her journal. So she drew a stack of books for the book list, a film role that had enough space to write down movie names for the movie list, and a few old televisions for the tv show list. Millie did not forget to add two pages for her monthly self-care & pampering and her health care & checkups.
"Finally...
Done with the yearly spreads.
Now let's move into the monthly spreads."
Millie added the monthly planner first then remembered she should draw the month's name. Then she nicely drew the name of the month and then added the monthly planner. Millie also added the "to-do list" to her journal. As always planned Millie drew some boxes for the habit tracker and a puzzle box for the mood tracker. Then she reserved some pages for her meal planner too.
"I'm really grateful for this free time to do my work...
Oh... maybe I should add a daily gratitude list for my journal."
Millie added that to the journal. Also, she kept a page to describe the book/s she read each month with a blank page to paste a picture of the book. Then she kept several pages to paste pictures of happy moments of each month. Millie checked the journal from the beginning to see whether she liked how the journal turned out.
"Wow! This is amazing!"
Millie jumped out of happiness. The journal had turned out way better than she expected. Then she quickly drafted the monthly spreads for each month. Millie felt so tired that she did not feel like cooking dinner at all. She stretched herself and decided to have leftovers for dinner.
"Had a productive day
It's time to sleep"
Millie yawned while saying that.
