Chapter 11 - New Ability and the Envoy

After informing me about the situation, Vaela led me to my chamber and ordered the rest of the troops to begin the re-assembling of the territory. As I rested a new message popped in front of me saying:

[The Host has unlocked the Subsidiary Bloodline Function!]

[The Host has acquired Tempest Fish Bloodline!]

[The host has been granted Basic Summoning Magic: Tempest Species]

'Huh? Why now of all the time'

[The series of events leading to the host becoming a lord has unlocked a new portion of the system's powers]

[The Basic Summoning Magic of the tribe is granted to an individual only if it is the only survivor of its bloodline or has defeated the bloodline lord!]

'Well I have the necessary troops and it's not like there's an emergency right at the moment'

While I was contemplating about the recent events when Vaela rushed in with urgency etched across her features. Her arrival startled me, and I could sense something significant had occurred.

"My lord!," she began breathlessly, "there's an envoy from the Terraformis Stonelord." Her words carried a weight, signaling an unexpected development.

I frowned, curious and concerned about this sudden visitation from the Earth Lord's representatives. Vaela's hurried arrival hinted at the gravity of the situation.

"They're here," she continued, "seeking an audience, stating a matter of importance regarding recent territorial movements."

The mention of territorial matters piqued my interest, and I realized the potential implications of this visit. The Earth Lord's interest in our realm raised questions about their intentions and the disruption it could bring to our tranquil underwater domains.

Vaela's hurried entrance and the news of the envoy left me with a sense of unease, prompting a flurry of thoughts about the Earth Lord's sudden interest in our territories. It was a call to action, a moment demanding attention and a cautious approach toward this unforeseen development in our oceanic sanctuary.

The envoy from the Stonelord entered my chamber with an air of authority, their presence commanding attention. Their message, however, carried an arrogance that left a prickling tension in the room.

"I come on behalf of the Terraformis Stonelord," he declared, their tone laced with haughtiness. "The Lord demands your abandonment of this territory. Surrender and submit to the Earth Lord's rule."

The envoy's words rang with a sense of superiority, his demeanour projecting an air of dominance. The demand to relinquish my domain and yield to the Earth Lord's authority left a stark challenge hanging in the air.

Their arrogance didn't sit well with me, and their audacity in making such demands within the confines of my sanctuary stirred a determination within. It was a moment that demanded composure and a thoughtful response, despite the provocation and arrogance conveyed through their message.

At this point, Vaela had already gathered a lot of respect for me as I protected their kin from great danger. Hearing to the envoy's statement she sprung up from her place shouting, "How dare you show such impudence in front of the lord! Don't forget your position as an envoy!"

As I pondered the envoy's audacious demand, a surge of determination coursed through me. Yielding my territory to the Stonelord's command was not an option I could entertain.

"I refuse to abandon my domain," I asserted firmly, my tone resolute.

The envoy's response was swift, their words laced with a warning. "Your refusal will bring dire consequences upon your territory. The Earth Lord's displeasure shall cast shadows upon your realm, disrupting its stability."

Their threat echoed in the chamber, a warning of potential repercussions should I persist in defiance. The envoy's insinuation of impending turmoil within my territory sent a shiver down my spine.

I weighed their words, considering the potential impact of antagonizing the Earth Lord. The balance of power within the oceanic realms hung in a delicate equilibrium, and any disruption could tip the scales, affecting the tranquillity and harmony of my underwater domain.

Despite the warning, I stood my ground, refusing to yield to the envoy's demands. The implications of the Earth Lord's displeasure weighed heavy on my decision, yet the autonomy and protection of my territory held paramount importance.

The envoy, visibly displeased by my refusal, withdrew with an air of restrained frustration. As they departed, a sense of foreboding lingered in the air, hinting at impending turmoil.

Vaela, who had been observing the exchange, approached me with a concerned expression etched on her face. "My lord!," she began solemnly, "the Stonelord's refusal to accept your sovereignty hints at brewing trouble. Their demands and departure may mark the beginning of a conflict."

Her words struck a chord, and I realized the gravity of the situation. The Stonelord's refusal to heed my autonomy posed a threat, one that could potentially spiral into a conflict within the underwater realms.

"The Earth Lord's disdain for your refusal," Vaela continued, "might lead to aggressive actions. They may mobilize their forces, sparking a war for territorial dominance."

The implications of such a conflict weighed heavily on my mind. A war among the elemental domains within the oceanic expanse threatened the tranquillity and balance of our underwater world.

Vaela's warning served as a stark reminder of the impending turmoil and the potential repercussions of the Stonelord's hostility. It was a precarious situation that demanded vigilance and strategic measures to safeguard my territory and the harmony of the underwater realms.

I turned to Vaela, concern etched on my features. "Do you have any idea about the strength of the Stonelord's troops compared to ours?" I inquired, my voice reflecting a mix of urgency and apprehension.

Vaela, her brow furrowed in thought, responded, "The Stonelord's forces are formidable, known for their sheer might and resilience. They command a substantial number, a force that rivals ours in size."

Her words painted a daunting picture. The realization that the Stonelord's military might matched ours sparked a flicker of worry within me. A conflict against such a formidable force could tilt the balance of power within the underwater realms.

I contemplated the implications. A clash of such magnitude threatened to disrupt the harmony and tranquility that defined our oceanic sanctuary. The potential for devastation and upheaval loomed ominously.

"We need a solution," I muttered, the weight of the situation settling heavily upon me. My mind raced, seeking a path to mitigate the brewing conflict and safeguard our domain.

I pondered strategies, seeking a resolution that didn't escalate into a full-blown conflict. Finding common ground or a diplomatic approach to prevent the impending clash became paramount. It was a challenge that demanded astute planning and a delicate handling of the escalating tensions.

'Look's like I do need to summon more troops'

After ordering Vaela to prepare the people for the upcoming battle I went on to proceed with the current ask on my hand.
