Chapter 37 - Into the Supermarket

Goku walked through the supermarket aisles, pushing a cart with one hand while holding a shopping basket in the other. Seated comfortably inside the cart was Bra, happily looking around at the shelves filled with colorful packages.

"Let's see… the diapers are in the next aisle," Goku muttered, glancing at the shopping list Bulma had written for him earlier.

Only a few items remained—milk, porridge, and baby wipes. The supermarket was huge, with endless aisles, and Goku had already asked for directions several times.

Stopping near the diaper section, Goku walked around to face his daughter, placing his hands on his hips.

"Alright, Bra! Which diapers do you like best?" he asked with a grin, tilting his head just as she did—father and daughter mirroring each other.

Bra blinked at him.

"I know! You probably like these ones, right?" Goku pointed at a package featuring a baby elephant with big ears.

Bra wrinkled her tiny nose.

"Huh… okay, not that one," Goku chuckled. "How about these?" He gestured toward another package decorated with colorful flowers.

Bra's face lit up, and she let out a delighted giggle.

"Hahaha! I knew you'd like these! We'll take two," Goku said proudly, grabbing two packs and placing them in the basket.

After a few more minutes of wandering through the aisles, he finally checked off everything on Bulma's list and headed toward the checkout counter.

As he waited in line, he failed to notice the group of young women whispering nearby.

"That guy is shopping alone with his daughter?"

"That's so cute! He looks so responsible!"

"Ugh, I wish I had a man like that…"

Completely oblivious to their conversation, Goku stepped forward, unloading the items onto the conveyor belt.

"Well, well… so your daughter has finally been born," said a familiar voice from behind the counter.

Goku blinked and looked up.

"Oh! Akemi!" he greeted, recognizing the red-haired cashier with a ponytail. "I haven't seen you since the tournament!"

Akemi smiled. "Yeah, it's been a while. You remember me?"

"Of course! You were working at the ice cream shop back then, right?" Goku tilted his head.

"That was just a temporary job. Now I'm here," she explained, scanning the items. "Gotta earn a living somehow, you know?"

Goku nodded, not fully understanding but remembering how Bulma often mentioned the importance of work.

"Bulma says I should start working too," he admitted, looking slightly unsure.

Akemi smirked. "Well, I can save you a spot here if you're interested."

Goku laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head.

"That'll be 850 zenni. Card or cash?" Akemi asked.

Goku handed her the card Bulma had given him. After swiping it, Akemi handed it back with a smile.

"Take care, Goku. See you around!"

Goku waved before pushing Bra's cart and carrying his bags toward the exit.

A little later, Goku sat on a bench outside the supermarket, Bra's cart parked in front of him.

The little girl stared up at him, imitating his wide grin.

Goku chuckled. "You're really good at copying me, huh?"

Bra giggled in response.

As he glanced at his watch, he realized—

"Oh, it's bottle time!"

Lifting Bra from the cart, Goku reached into Bulma's neatly packed bag, pulling out a bottle. He gently placed the nipple in Bra's mouth, watching as she eagerly began to drink.

"Wow, you're really fast!" he said in amazement. "You might even eat as fast as me someday—wait, you're done already?!"

Bra had finished the entire bottle in record time, sucking on it so fast that Goku was left speechless.

He wiped the corner of her lips with a small napkin, laughing at her playful giggle.

"Hmm…" Goku grinned mischievously, covering his eyes with his hands.

"Where's the baby?" he asked in a mock-serious tone.

Bra looked around in confusion. Her tiny brows furrowed as she searched for her father.

Goku suddenly uncovered his eyes. "Here she is!"

Bra burst into laughter, clapping her tiny hands in excitement.

"Hehe, alright, I guess it's time to head home," Goku sighed, lifting her back into the cart. "I wonder what we'll eat today… I'm dying to know!"

Before he could take another step—

"Oh… wait a minute, you're SON GOKU!"

Goku's ears perked up at the sound of his name. He turned his head, spotting two familiar figures standing nearby.

A tall, muscular man with a scar across his forehead, dressed in a thick winter coat.

And beside him—a red-haired woman with bright green eyes, her long locks cascading down her back like a waterfall.

Goku's face lit up.

"EIGHTH! And… you must be Suno! It's been so long!"

"Really… is that you, Goku?" Eighth—Android 8—asked, taking a few steps closer.

Goku nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! Long time no see, friend!"

Without warning, Eighth pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.

"Whoa—Eighth, careful!" Goku winced, feeling something crack slightly in his back. "Haha! You're still super strong!"

Suno, meanwhile, simply stood there, blushing faintly.

"He's changed a lot…" she thought to herself.

The last time she saw Goku, he was just a little boy—the one who saved their village from the Red Ribbon Army. He had defeated General White, freed Eighth from their grasp, and even rescued the village chief.

Now… he was taller, stronger, and somehow even more charming.

"So, how's everything back in the snowy village?" Goku asked.

"We're doing well," Suno said with a warm smile. "Eighth helps with wood-cutting and other tasks, but… well, he sometimes forgets his own strength."

Eighth blushed slightly, scratching his cheek.

"It's… not my fault," he mumbled.

Goku laughed, patting Eighth on the arm. "Well, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters!"

Then, Eighth's eyes fell on Bra, who was watching him with curiosity.

"Hey, Goku… who's that little girl?"

"Oh! That's my daughter, Bra!" Goku said proudly, bringing the cart closer so they could see her.

Silence.

Suno and Eighth stared at him.

"….."
