There was a time when Izik tried to wield a sword and after two weeks of trying, he realized that it wasn't for him and that he was more comfortable using daggers. The guide pulled the sword out of the bag as it appeared in his hand. Izik had trained with the standard sword that was used by the guards and this was the first time he held a rapier sword. He was familiar with the rapier sword however he didn't expect it to be that long.
Staring at it, just the blade alone was already 42 inches and a half long and if you include the well-designed hilt its full length would be at least 47 inches. The fully silver blade was only around 3 and a half inches thick making Izik think that it will weigh less. It did weigh significantly less than a standard sword however it was still over one and a half kilograms.
The hilt of the sword was beautiful with complicated details. The red-colored metal went well with the silver. At the pommel sat a red gem, overlined by gold. Izik stared at the runes engraved on the base of the blade stretching until the tip of the sword.
Izik has a half mind to test the weapon but he knew that his room was not really a good place to test it. It may be a spacious room however Rakon was one long weapon. Returning Rakon to his bag, Izik went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Somehow the room that he got has it's own bathroom much to his relief.
After a quick shower, he changed his clothes snd dried his hair by opening the window or his room. It was getting much colder as the night descended. Sitting down on the window sill, he admired the color purple taking over the early night sky.
Knock, knock!
"Yo, Error, wanna grab some dinner?" Aleksi asked from the other side of the door. "We'll go straight from there to the zone."
Zone was a term used to the area where the dungeon was opened or where a raid was happening.
"Okay," Izik pushed himself off the sill, closing the window with a soft thud. Reaching for his mask, he pulled it up. He then put his cloak on, securing it with a metal pin. Checking himself on the mirror, he made sure that he got everything he needed.
Eyeing on his wrists, he checked on Tartarus which was cuffed on each wrist. At a glance, it looked like it was just an over 2 inches golden bangle with complex design. It wasn't even that think to look at. Summoning it's blade, it popped off the golden cuffed and to his hand, Izik heard the chains rattling. He was planning to buy some weapon but he guessed, Tartarus would be enough for now. He got a backup anyway even when he haven't used a rapier sword ever in his life.
Returning the blades, Izik put his socks and long boots on that covers half of his legs but nothing too close to his knees. Having a bag through the system allowed him to not bring a lot with him. Once everything was secure or on its place, he left the room.
"Took you so long," Aleksi smiled at him from his seat on the dining table.
"My bad."
"You are fine! It's nothing compared to Kameron," Aleksi stood up and tucked the chair back.
"Where's Quinlan?"
"He's waiting outside," They moved exited the house. Aleksi locked the door behind him. Quinlan gave Izik his signature smile paired with a quick salute. Atticus was wrapped around his shoulder, it's head tucked somewhere. It must be sleeping. Izik ignored the way the hair at the back of his neck stood.
"We still have some time to spare, let's eat near the zone," Aleksi jogged to them. The three left the house, closing the gates behind.
"You got a nice place," Izik complimented.
"Quinlan found it!" Aleksi proudly said. "He got Ozryn memorized like the back of his hand."
"That's nice," The guide glanced at Quinlan.
"I used to live here for two years back when I was younger, I knew people," Quinlan replied.
Izik nodded. Before he took a quick nap earlier, he also stared at the map of Ozryn through the system. It was small but everything you need was sure there. The way merchant shops lined up amazed him. When they finish the raid, he'll make sure to visit the shops.
Keeping his head in front, Izik thought how they have to close the dungeon.
It was true that he was excited about the raid but now that it was really happening, he was also nervous. Thinking about that, he doesn't even know if he'll have an appetite.
"Is this your first raid?" Aleksi snapped him out of his thinking realm.
"Yeah," Izik lied.
"You must be nervous," Quinlan chuckled low.
Aleksi turned to Quinlan, "This is your first raid." The Guild Master pointed out.
"Well, not my first dungeon," Quinlan shrugged.
"Not your first dungeon?" Izik couldn't help his curiosity.
"Yep, got sucked into a rogue dungeon once," He sounded like it was nothing but Izik could hear the edge on his voice. It must be his passive skill Primal Instinct working.
He never expected Quinlan to be sucked in a Rogue Dungeon like him. He wondered if like him, he also found an artifact.
"How about you, Guild Master?" Izik turned to Aleksi to quickly change the attention to the red-haired.
"Please no need to call me that, just call me Aleksi," Aleksi rubbed his nape, embarrassed. Izik didn't expect him to say that. He actually expected him to be proud of the title and wave it around like a village idiot.
"It's not my first," Aleksi answered and before Izik could asked he pointed out on a shop and told Izik he should check it one of these days. By that, Izik dropped the topic knowing the guy doesn't want to talk about it.
They were still on their way to the small diner Aleksi was talking about when Izik finally found courage to ask them, "Can you guys tell me what your abilities are?"
"A magician doesn't reveal his tricks!" Aleksi coolly said.
While Quinlan replied at the same time with, "Oh, I have a summoning type of magic."
Aleksi gave Quinlan a 'you're-no-fun' look which the latter just shrugged off.
"I can summon weapons and beasts," Quinlan added.
"That's cool," Izik tried not to get excited. "Is Atticus a summoned beast?" Quinlan nodded. Though Izik was not really fond of snakes, he wondered what can Atticus do especially the guy looked like any ordinary boa constrictor.
Izik was then lost in his deep thoughts when Aleksi dramatically groaned, "You are not gonna ask me?"
"I thought you don't want to reveal it?" Izik simply replied.
"I was looking forward for you to plead so I can tell you," Aleksi pouted, arms crossed over his chest.
"I am not forcing you if you don't want to tell me," Izik replied. It sounded a little colder than he intended.
"You are no fun," Aleksi sighed, arms dropping to his side. Izik glanced at him.
Aleksi was wearing a loose black bottoms that only covered 3 inches down his knees as his knees were covered in metal kneecaps that were securely wrapped around him. He also got four dangling red belt, two in front and two at the back. His top was a tight sleeveless crop turtle neck that hugged his body perfectly, it also didn't cover his body that much as it was cropped one inches down his pectoral muscles and was showing his set of hard rock abs while his arms were wrapped with red bandages until in the middle of his forearms.
"Let me guess," Izik offered. Aleksi and Quinlan turned to him. Quinlan looked amused. "You are an elemental and your element is earth and your fighting style is melee... your weapon most likely is a brass knuckles or something similar."
Quinlan let out a genuine laugh while Aleksi pouted like a kid.
"It's not really that hard to guess, Aleksi," Quinlan tried to reign his laughter. Izik nodded. He doesn't even need Primal Instinct for it. It was too obvious.
"Fine," Aleksi dismissed. "Yeah I am an elemental." He looked like a kid that was trying to looking angry however Izik couldn't even bring to take the guy so seriously even when he was the oldest among them and he was a Class A Hunter to boot.
They just then talked jumping from one topic to another until they arrived at a diner. The diner was a small place filled with Hunters. It was loud with all chatting and bragging going. Deciding to take a small table outside, Izik inwardly sighed while waiting for their food. He quietly observed the other tables.
"Have you heard?" A Hunter from another table outside said.
"About what? These days there's a lot of rumors."
"Oh I was talking about the manhunt that the Prince of Soleil ordered," Izik felt a shudder ran down his spine. The manhunt already reached Ozryn?
/'Xanthe Soleil, you insane, bastard.'/ Izik thought bitterly.
"He increased the reward it's now at 10,000 gold coins." Izik coughed loud, choking on his own saliva.
At this point, he's tempted to surrender himself to get that 10,000 gold coins. The weapons he could buy with that amount of money.
Aleksi let out a hum, "What did that person do to the Soleil Prince that he's willing to pay 10,000 gold coins?" Izik froze on his spot.
"That's a lot of money," Quinlan nodded while Izik just cried inwardly. "It's even a higher bounty than the wanted criminals."
"Whoever this person is, good luck to him," Aleksi added, cheek resting on his palm with his elbow propped on the wooden table. "Of all the Crown Prince candidate, he really chose to mess with that one."
Izik wanted to say that he didn't even do anything. He left with a note too. He doesn't know what in the world Xanthe Soleil want from him.
"I always knew he's popular but I didn't think the Soleil Prince is that popular," Izik commented because he can't just stay silent.
"Oh, you have no idea how popular that guy is," Aleksi replied. "Every Hunter all over Serene wanted to see him fight or at least spar with him because no one really knew what his abilities are."
"But didn't he closed a mythical dungeon last time?" Quinlan added. "I didn't even know that Mythical Dungeons are real."
"Now that you mentioned, I heard he summoned a red dragon there," Aleksi turned to Quinlan. "Is it hard to summon a red dragon?"
He did? Izik didn't know about that since he passed out. Now, he's annoyed that he didn't see Xanthe summoned a red dragon.
Wait, Izik's thoughts halted. He was so sure that Xanthe was an elemental. He watched him explode the lions and guards so what were they talking about that he summoned a red dragon?
But then Izik thought of how he's his own league of anomaly. A guide who can use combative magic and not only that he could basically use summoning magic and elemental magic but then he also knew all of these were only possible because of the artifact.
If he lost the artifact...
"It's the hardest to summon. Dragons are naturally proud beings and are never fond of humans. I heard numerous Hunters tried to form a pact with them and all died," Quinlan replied.
Quinlan continued, "Not only that he summoned a red dragon which is an auspicious being. Other dragons are already a pain to form a pact with then he has a red one."
"Well, that guy is on a whole different level," Aleksi shrugged and Quinlan nodded in agreement.
Izik couldn't even contest what they were saying. He saw Xanthe fought and he fought while on a verge of falling and while wrapped in numerous limiting spell.
