Heddwyn stabs his staff into the ground and claps his hands, sending a high pitched vibration and a shockwave towards the man, blasting its way towards him, tearing up the ground as it goes. The shockwave hits Jasyn, sending him flying backwards. Jasyn impacts the ground with a thud, he rolls out of it and looks at his now dislocated shoulder. He grabs it and pops it back into place before charging at Heddwyn again.
"Dad I swear to god if you destroy anything else you'll be paying me in coin!" Christopher shouts.
Heddwyn attempts to use another time manipulating spell, but misses Jasyn entirely. He sunk into the ground, a spell called Shadow Movement. It uses a person's shadow to transport the user into the realm of shadows, able to select where they come out.
"While that sure is a clever move. It's painfully easy to predict." Heddwyn says, turning towards the shadow he was casting.
To his surprise however, Jasyn gets up behind him, steals one of the Nekojin's kunai, and holds it to his throat. "It's also painfully easy to predict someone's reaction to an obvious play."
Heddwyn slaps a parchment onto his chest and yells, "Warp!" sending him back to where he started fighting.
(Narrator) Fucking deja vu. I think I remember him using this when he fought Heather, right?
Jasyn gets stunned as the grip on Heddwyn disappears and he gets hit in the face with a massive stone. "I had that one prepared just before you put me in check." Heddwyn says.
Jasyn spits out the blood from his mouth and says, "We're not playing chess here. You will NOT stop me from seeing your son."
Heddwyn smiles widely, liking the fire in the young lad's eyes. "Then come prove to me you can protect him. From them."
"This is Maranus, We are constantly fighting against those demonic bastards every day! You honestly think with your nice comfortable life in Stocaea that us soldiers have it easy?" Jasyn argues. "Every country is protecting that pompous emperor from decay." He shouts. "Have you seen the southern part of Maranus in the last decade? Of course you haven't. Because you spent the last ten years raising a family, instead of helping your brothers in arms."
(Narrator) That went a little off topic but ok.
Heddwyn, with blinding speed, knocks the young man onto his ass and digs the tip of his sharp spear into his neck. "Watch your tongue, boy. You couldn't even dream about the horrors I've witnessed in my life. I've killed innocent people for profit. Seen everyone I've ever loved slaughtered. I've defended against the scourge of a Demon Lord. The only good thing I have left is my children. If you dare insult my choices as a man again, I'll slit your throat."
Heddwyn drags the blade of his spear up, scratching the man's chin. "We are done here." He says, walking away from him.
Christopher gets by his boyfriend's side and starts casting a low level healing spell on him. "You idiot." He says with a sigh.
Jasyn hurriedly gets onto his knees and slams his head into the ground saying, "Please wait."
Heddwyn turns to look at the man with his face buried in the dirt. "Please, let me continue to date Christopher. I'll be heartbroken without him. And I'm sure he feels the same."
The Nekojin looks over at Christopher, who is continuing to cast healing magic. Christopher gives him a nod, confirming what Jasyn says about him is true.
"C'mon now. They're cute together." Beluf says, grabbing Heddwyn's arm with a tooth bearing smile.
Heddwyn sighs. "Look, I never actually said you two couldn't date. I just said the fight was over." Heddwyn walks up to the pleading teen and says, "Stand up, cub." Which Jasyn obliges.
Heddwyn places his free hand firmly on his shoulder and says, "You're a good kid, Jasyn. Make my son happy, and keep him safe…As long as you can do that. I have no problem with it."
"You have my word, sir." Jasyn says, saluting Heddwyn.
"Relax." Heddwyn laughs. "Your family now. That means you call me dad, or Heddwyn if you feel more comfortable with that."
"I just want him to stay still for a moment. Will you shut up!" Christopher scolds.
"Yeah, sorry." Heddwyn chuckles.
Jasyn smiles softly and gives Heddwyn a hug. Behind him, Christopher throws his arms into the air and starts to walk away. That is until Haider sees the dirt on his knees as he and Heather approach the group.
"Chritopher!" Haider yells. "You've had your new clothes for 10 minutes and you already have dirt on them?!" He continues, sprinting up to him. Haider balls his hand into a fist and punches Christopher directly in the jaw. "They don't have the enchantments on them yet! So getting them dirty means you're now gonna need to wash em!"
Christopher falls onto his ass and while he's instinctively numbing the pain, he says, "I'm sorry, ok? I didn't know. I'll have them washed."
"No. You're gonna have to wear those trousers till me and Heather make a new pair." Haider says. "You aren't gonna get grass stains out of those trousers."
"Lucky I made a second pair then." Heather says.
"What do you mean?" Haider says, his annoyed expression growing.
"I made them while I was being depressed on Christopher's porch." Heather replies, pulling them out of one of her satchels.
(Narrator) Wait. How the fuck did she do that? Also, way too convenient.
(Nebulon) Her pouches are dimensional. She likely has hundreds of species of plants in them.
(Narrator) Ah, ok. Makes sense I guess. It's a good thing he fell on gravel too. Otherwise Haider just made him dirtier.
(Nebulon) Oh, pff. I didn't even notice that.
"Right." Haider says, snatching the trousers from Heather. "Go put these on and we can have dad make the enchantment." He continues, throwing them to Christopher.
I'm just gonna skip the next two days. Nothing much happened, Jasyn went to his hometown to inform his mother about his recent entanglement with Christopher. He has yet to return from his outing.
(Narrator) Oh shit, I forgot to mention Jasyn's surname. I'm sure that'll need clarification for the future. His full name is Jasyn Firkin.
Christopher has closed his dimension off since yesterday. Wanting to make sure that he, and everyone else doesn't get dependent on it to see one another whenever they want. Heddwyn and Beluf rented a room somewhere in the capital, probably an Inn or something I don't fucking know.
We continue the story back at the royal palace, where King Shavik has summoned Christopher on the pretence of emergency.
Christopher, exhausted from waking up on the floor, stands before the King and his small army of nobles.
(Narrator) Yeah, he fell off his fancy bed when he tried to sleep in the manor for the first time. It was actually quite funny.
"Sire, I understand you said this was an emergency. But I didn't sleep very well so can we make this a quick thing?" Christopher asks.
"How dare you speak to The King in such a casual manner?" A noble shouts.
"Quiet Marquis Tannins. Sir Newman and His Majesty are on equal terms. Afterall, he proved your 40 years worth of research useless, and did it in a matter of weeks too. Pipe down, and shut up." Marquis Beauregard Bloomand defends.
(Narrator) I'm never writing that again.
"Stop biting at one another's throats. His Majesty would like this matter handled swiftly too. He has brought him here because he believes Christopher to be the best person for the job." The King's steward shouts.
King Shavik puts up his hand, and all the noise of the muttering nobles cease. "Now then. The reason why I called you here Christopher. Is because I would like you to lead an expedition to the dungeon located on Mt. Mininan. The entrance to the dungeon keeps moving and we would like for you to investigate why."
"Alright. I would like a little bit of insurance if I were to accept such a job." Christopher says.
"What may that be?" King Shavik asks.
"I would like Mr. Haider Longstaff and Miss Heather Longstaff to also be employed in this job. They have first hand experience with said dungeon. I would also like the assistance of one of your nobles, one that can be trusted to give an honest account of what happened out on the mountain." Christopher says, looking down with his hand on his chin, thinking of every possible thing he could ask for.
"I can certainly agree to that. Marquis Bloomand, you'll be the one to accompany them. You have the most experience with this." His Majesty says. "I shall inform those two other participants to meet with you at the bottom of the mountain." He continues.
"Why is it always me?" Marquis Beauregard Bloomand says, taking his place behind Christopher.
"I would also like to appoint three guards to you. To replace Jasyn while he's away." King Shavik says. "I look forward to a favourable return. You are dismissed."
Christopher and Marquis Bloomand exit the throne room and make their way outside palace grounds.
