Chapter 63 - Chapter 8 Part 3

"Funny. I know you have more questions. I am happy to answer them."

"So do you know what is happening inside of me?" He asks, a worried look on his face.

"I do. But I'm sure you already know that. Or do you mean the dark force attached to your mana?"

"Anything. Is it killing me? Am I destined to become a demon?" Christopher clutches his chest.

"I cannot tell you your destiny, but I can tell you what that is specifically. I also cannot tell you where you came from as a result...You were born with a demon seed when you were born. Your parents were devastated with the fact, because there existed a legend that a child will one day be born with a dragon seed and bring ruin. So to protect you, they shielded you with dragon magic. Hence the demon dragon seed you have now." Nebulon holds for the information to sink in.

(Nebulon) How the heck do the Narrators do this? It's pretty rough to be recording this and talk to Christopher at the same time.

After no hesitation, Christopher beckons Nebulon to continue. "I appreciate the fact you told me my 'origins' or whatever. But it doesnt change the fact that they abandoned me."

"If only you knew." Nebulon mutters.

(Nebulon) How do you refer to yourself this way? I know you're going to read this Narrator.

"The dark force inside of you, manifested inside of you after Hilda's death. In truth, it's a Spatial anomaly. An entity of pure chaos. This anomaly also changed the Wisp connected to you. It's tether to your soul changed its personality. It's something in the history of your universe that has never happened before. That is mainly why I wanted to talk to you."

"Ok. So what does that mean?" Christopher asks, fidgeting with his hands.

"There will be several moments in your life that will change the order and balance of this force. Some bad, some good." Nebulon says.

(Nebulon) This is hard to explain to him. I somehow need to avoid the future events and only tell him what it is.

"Now, I cannot say for certain as this hasn't happened to you yet. But The darkness eating at your emotions will become more and more difficult to control. And could lead to disaster."

"Could? But you know what is going to happen, right? How could you talk about uncertainties?" Christopher asks harshly.

"Time is not that easy to understand. It doesn't flow properly, at least not here in the void. Every decision someone makes sends someone down a different path in time. Every choice branches and duplicates the universe, sending them down different results. That's the best explanation I can give. But it still doesn't explain its true nature."

"But that's a contradiction to what you said earlier." An agitated Christopher exclaims.

"Exactly." Nebulon says.

Christopher stands up confused. "Im not understanding any of this."

"That's the point. It's the illusion of time. I see every facet and form it takes, but everyone bound by time can only know what they perceive. You were never meant to know this." After a short pause Nebulon continues. "Think of it this way. Everything I've said about time makes sense. The past cannot be changed because you have already branched off. There is no other way I can think of explaining it without you phasing from existence."

"Ok. alright. Is there anything you haven't told me?" Christopher asks.

"About the Spatial anomaly? Plenty. But you need to figure that out on your own."

"Fine. but may I ask you one thing before you send me back to...the universe i guess?" Christopher says. His mind metaphorically melting.

Nebulon gestures an arm forward, asking him to go ahead and ask.

"Are you the one that's been controlling the anima of wildlife recently?" He asks.

"Me? No, but my current role in the mortal realm? Yes." Nebulon says.

"Then can you at least make them more, findable. You're going to destroy Stocaea otherwise."

"No."

"No? What do you mean, no?"

"What I mean is, the events of time have already been set. Plus it's the decisions of The Empire that will decide their own fates."

Christopher becomes increasingly angrier.

"I can do one thing for you though. Since we've become acquainted."

"WHAT?" Christopher says, with hostility.

"Hold out your hand." Nebulon requests.

He thrusts his hand out to Nebulon and scoffs. Impatient waiting for the black abyss to continue. Nebulon grabs the bottom of the boy's hand and hovers the other above it. A white mist erupts from his centre, swirling around their abdomen, rising up through their chest.

The white fog flows into his arms and congregates to the palms of his hands. The mist exits his corporeal form, forming into a locket. The locket is made from Tisk gold, a source that is very scarce in the realm, and is considered to be 30-40 times more valuable than regular gold. The locket is fastened to a rope woven from wyvern feathers. Inside the locket are two empty photo slots.

"What is this?" Christopher asks, opening the locket.

"It's an ornamental case, meant to store things of sentimental value. It's sort of like a special place to put something to keep it close." Nebulon says, kneeling down in front of the boy.

"Ok. why?" Christopher inquires, furrowing his brow.

"To help heal your mind. The locket? It was your birth mother's. I came across it as one of my characters. Thought it could be important to someone. One day, you'll know what to do with it. But for now, hold it close. I hope it can be of some comfort to you." Nebulon says, his voice calm and caring.

Christopher looks disappointed, Nebulon shifts his head to the side. "Is something wrong?"

"I was expecting something...I dunno...A Little more useful?" Christopher says.

"I don't understand." Nebulon says, not understanding the mortal equivalence of importance.

"It's just a locket. How is that going to calm my mind?" the lad says. Closing the locket and feeling its patterns.

"*sigh* I'll never understand mortals. Always obsessed with power and greed." Nebulon grabs Christopher with both hands. "You will understand in time. Now you must leave. I will place you back into your universe as the universe intended little Christopher. Do not seek out..."

Nebulons voice fades away before Christopher could hear. In an instant, Christopher was back in his room, someone knocking at the door aggressively.

...

(Narrator) Oh my god he's back. Thank The Moth-er. Hold up. I have a ton of shit to read? Who tampered with my records!

...

(Narrator) Holy fucking shit. My grandfather? How come I never knew I had a grandfather? Abuamr? Father, I need to talk to you.

...

(The Father) What is it, Tariku?

(Narrator) Christopher just talked with your father. He's calling himself Nebulon.

(The Father) Void?...Fitting I guess. Yes I was informed just before it happened. Nebulon said that the universe intended for it or something.

(Narrator) But why would they talk to him about us, and our origins?

(The Father) Only he would know the answer to those questions. I guess you should expect Christopher to start talking to you when he is alone. I must go now, Tariku. Be careful.

Right. Where were we? Ah yes. Heather and Haider burst through the door to see a stunned and confused Christopher. They halt as they enter the lounge.

"We've been knocking on that bleeding door for ten minutes. We were worried sick!" Heather yells. Christopher offers no response. Probably still processing what happened.

"What's wrong brother? What happened while you were in here?" Haider asks, getting in his face.

After a momentary pause, Christopher slowly looks up at his brother. "I don't think I could explain it to you if I tried."

"Then do it best you can." Heather says, sitting next to him. "Let's start with the locket in your hand."

"No. I think it's best if I start at the beginning. As fast as I can."

Haider sits on the remaining spot on the couch, getting the sense it's something huge.

"So. I was teleported out of the universe because the void, or Nebulon as they called themselves needed, or wanted to talk with me. He told me some very enlightening things about me and other things. It turns out this 'otherworlder' is actually Nebulon. Oh and this locket allegedly belongs to my birth mother." Christopher rushes. "Was there anything else? Oh and he wont stop with his current role in Stocaea."

...

"You were right. I didn't understand any of that." Heather says.

"Me neither." Haider agrees, slouching in his seat.

Christopher explains the rest in a little more detail. But you reader, already know the events so let's skip that.
