(narrator) I'm awake. *yawn* where are we? Ah, I see we... are still at the church. How long have I been asleep! Give me a few seconds *blip*...*blip* ok I'm back, it's been about a week since I fell asleep, and it looks like I missed quite a bit... the kids have bags and trunks in the dining room what the hell is going on! I will be right back. *blip*...*blip* ok, looks like the adoption was successful, and they are now moving in with Heddwyn... I'm sorry, what! I really shouldn't have fallen asleep. So much has happened, my head hurts... wait, I don't have a head. Ah crap, I mean yes I do; I am hooman too. I really need to get myself together. Let's just get back on the story.
"is everyone ready to head out?" Heddwyn asked.
One after the other, the kids all say "yeah"
"fantastic, are you able to carry that bag on your own Christopher?" Heddwyn asks the lad. Christopher replies with a nod.
Heddwyn turns his head to the twins, who don't have their belongings with them. "where are your things guys?" he asked them.
"they are still in our room; we can't move it." Heather said.
"ok let me go grab it for you," Heddwyn replied, walking towards the twin's bedroom. As he entered the twin's old bedroom, he spots the massive trunk that is as wide as one of a single bed. He walks up to the trunk, picks it up from the bottom and hoists it onto his shoulder.
As Heddwyn walks back into the room, hauling the massive trunk on his shoulder he says "ok everything is in order, let's get going, say your goodbyes to Engilram and Hilda,"
The sight of Heddwyn practically making the impossible indeed possible has everyone slack jawed as he looks like he is holding a feather.
As the four of them exit the church and say their goodbyes, Heddwyn says. "we will come back here every day for dinner, if that's ok with you two?"
"*cough* yes, of course you can come visit anytime," Hilda said.
The kids say their last goodbye and the four travel their way to Heddwyn's home. They walk for a few miles until they happen on what seems to be a completely normal wall of bush. But inevitably Heddwyn walks towards and into the bush and sort of disappears into it, as if an illusion was placed upon that part of the forest. The children just stand there at the side of the road, weirded out.
Heddwyn pops his head back out of the illusionary wall, and it spooks the kids. "come on, just walk through, there is no trickery, just an invisible passage." The floating head said.
"let's go guys," Christopher said.
A few moments go by, and the kid's head towards the illusion and walk through it. Just as they pass over to the other side, they see a single lane pathway leading to what they presume to be Heddwyn's home.
"see wasn't that scary, let's continue? We aren't far from home now," Heddwyn said.
They walk down the path for what felt like hours to Christopher before the road splits off to the left, showing glimpses of a man-made structure through the trees. a few more minutes of walking and the house comes into full view.
(narrator) That is no house, that's a fucking manor. What the heck, Heddwyn has been living here on his own? It's probably as big as the town square. Several families could live here. What the hell.
While the kids take their time to gawk at their new castle to live in, Heddwyn says, "well, here we are. Your rooms are all prepared for you on the third floor, your names are on the door for you. Ive tried my best to design them how you would like them," but before he finished talking, the kids got excited and sprinted into the house.
"that was expected. The kids have never seen luxury before. Better get inside and drop this thing into Heather and Haider's room." Heddwyn said.
As Heddwyn walks through the front door, we see Christopher sitting on a lounge at the bottom of a grand staircase. And the twins are spinning in circles in the middle of the wide hall. There are archways to the left and right of the stairs and a relatively small for the room crystal chandelier.
"what the heck Heddwyn, I thought you lived in a house, not a noble estate in the woods!" Christopher said.
"I tried to be modest," Heddwyn replied.
"modest, it's tiny. It's like a dollhouse. I can barely fit in here. I would need to crawl." Christopher said sarcastically.
"ha oh, come on, watch the drama. Let's get everything situated and set up for you," Heddwyn said, still carrying the Hard oak trunk on his shoulders.
Heddwyn leads the kids up the grand staircase to the second floor, waiting at the top. The kids had lagged behind while Heddwyn practically sprinted up the stairs.
"how did you do that?" Haider asked.
"do what?" Heddwyn replied.
"you know, float up the steps while carrying our stuff. We couldn't even move that thing," Haider asked again.
"oh, it's probably because I built this house with my own paws. Cutting down the iron woods that used to make up this place wasn't easy. And cultivating those cut trees into this place wasn't either. Those trees are... how do I put this. Stronger than steel. So, I guess you could say that this place is going to be hard to destroy." Heddwyn explained with a smile.
Haider sighed and continued to walk up the stairs with the others. When they got to the top, Heddwyn marched onward to the left where another staircase leads just out of sight of the large open first floor staircase.
Obviously Heddwyn climbs up this staircase to the third floor and once again waits for the kids to finish climbing them. Once the second set was done with and all four people were on the third floor, long hallways stretch in both directions with windows on one side and doors to rooms that seem useless to the untrained eye. But for a single person, most of the rooms are probably storage.
"here we are. Your room is to the right Christopher, your name is on the door, so you won't miss it. I'm going to take the twins to their room and set down the trunk so they can unpack. I will be with you once I'm done." Heddwyn said.
Christopher nod to Heddwyn and heads off to the right to his room to organise his belongings. Meanwhile, the remaining three individuals go off to the left towards the twin's room. It wasn't far. It was literally the first door in that direction.
On the door was Heather's and Haider's name carved into the iron-wood door and painted in gold. "it's extra I know, but I wanted it to be a special thing," Heddwyn said. "let's get in so you can get comfortable and sort through your things," he continued, putting out his remaining hand to the metal door handle.
As the door opened to show the considerable amount of space in the room. The twin's eyes widen at the lavish bedroom with two four-poster beds covered with two veils covering the front and sides, representing each child's favourite colours. Green for Heather and light blue for Haider.
The room was split in two to represent each child's interests. On heather's side, we have a lot of green plant life plush toys, such as a bush with eyes, a sunflower with creepy arms and legs... in other words anything with a face that looks like it could come to life.
(narrator) how could Heather like green, especially those creepy plushes. If the bush comes to life, I'm out. You're on your own.
On Haider's side is everything light blue that you could possibly think of. A soft ice cube, a snowy mountain leopard, a bear in a fake chunk of ice, the list goes on.
(narrator) I like Haider's side much better, but that frozen bear is too funny to look at. It's so derpy.
After plopping down the trunk on the floor, Heddwyn says, "what do you guys think, do you like it?"
Both kids synchronise their answer, "I love it,"
"great, I'm going to go to Christopher's room and see if he likes it. If you need me after I will be down on the second floor in the training hall, you can't miss it." Heddwyn says.
Now in front of Christopher's room, Heddwyn knocks on the door and walks in to see Christopher in his science themed bedroom. It's smaller than the other room, but not by much. There are animal plush toys in almost every corner. Mostly cats, much like Christopher's own calico plush. We see an Aegean, Balinese, Bengal, Birman, Chartreux and many more, including wild cats like lions and leopards. Not only that, but we see various science devices too, such as a telescope and anatomy posters of various races of the realm.
