Chapter 3 - The Ivory Pavilion(1)

The Ivory Pavilion is a magnificent four-story estate, exuding elegance and luxury. Its design incorporates a harmonious blend of white (Sheth) marbles and dark-purple (Niv) marbles, creating a striking contrast and adding a touch of opulence.

As you approach the pavilion, you are greeted by a grand entrance, guarded by the 'Pavilion Knights'-These knights are specifically trained to guard the precious beasts within the Garden of the Porcelain Lake as well as protecting the visitors including the Descendants.

The path leading to the pavilion is lined with manicured gardens, featuring vibrant flowers and neatly trimmed hedges. The entrance is marked by two majestic pillars, crafted from white marble and adorned with intricate carvings, and a Giant Plaque called the 'Bushin Code of Conduct', this plaque was erected by the founder of the Vermont family, Aesir de Vermont.

Upon entering the pavilion, you find yourself in the grand area on the first floor. This expansive space is dedicated to receiving visitors and allows them to admire the breath-taking surroundings. Large windows provide panoramic views of the serene landscape and the nearby Porcelain Lake, while luxurious seating areas invite guests to relax and enjoy the ambiance.

Each floor of the pavilion has a main room that serves a specific purpose. On the first floor, there is an entrance living area designed for participants who came for the 'Gathering', to gather and socialize. This floor is commonly known as the 'Bi-jason' Area. This space offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, with plush sofas and tasteful decor.

Moving up to the second floor, you will find the dining area or the 'Cadaverous Banquet Hall', which is accessible to all residents and visitors. The dining room is adorned with elegant furnishings and a large dining table made from white marble, creating a sophisticated setting for formal meals and gatherings.

The third floor houses a simple branch library, providing a quiet and serene space for reading and intellectual pursuits. Even, if it's the branch of the Main Library of the Vermont, it consists of Seven thousand books. The shelves are filled with books of various genres, and comfortable seating areas are scattered throughout, inviting residents to indulge in literature and contemplation.

Finally, on the fourth floor, there is a dedicated room for the Descendants of the Vermont family. This private retreat offers a tranquil haven for the family members, with luxurious furnishings and a serene ambiance. A gate guard stationed outside the room ensures privacy and security for the descendants. These Gate Guards are at the level of an Expert-Sword Master.

Throughout the pavilion, white marbles create an atmosphere of purity and elegance. The dark-purple marbles used for the railings add a regal touch and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal.

The Ivory Pavilion stands as a testament to refined living, where every detail has been meticulously crafted to create an environment of grandeur and sophistication.

Within this Pavilion, there are Seven Pillars, each pillar is highly decorated with carvings of an unknown language, only known to The Vermont Librarian and the Seven Heirs as well the Patriarch of the Family.

As Jake Approached the main entrance, the guards came forward and one of them spoke.

"Young Master, we are to escort you inside the pavilion to Master Jackson".

"Sure, let's enter"

The Door Opened, as a figure approached.

"Wasn't he sick, so why is he here now"

"I know right, a Curse on Vermont came walking straight up to this sacred place."

The Crowd went on criticizing.

As he slowly approached the stairs while the guards following him behind, a girl came towards Jake.

"Greetings, Young Master", she gently bowed and spoke.

"Greetings, Young Miss", Jake returned the greet.

"Pardon me, but I seldom recognize you, may I have your esteemed name please, 'Young Master' ", she mocked Jake as she spoke.

As the crowd within the first floor heard her, they started laughing.

"Did you hear that, Oh my lord, Hahahahaha"

"Haahaha, 'Esteemed name'! "

This went on for a few moments, until a voice rose.

"Hahahahahaha, I am amazed by your skill to make such an entertaining scene, young lady Abigail, of the 'Esteemed' Meliora Family"

"Why not, I speak with Madame Sierre Meliora, and recommend you to be the Jester of the Damascus Kingdom's Royal Court."

"If You say, I can even make you one of the Three private jester that the 2nd Prince indulges with every now and then."

The Crowd looked baffled. The whole room was quite for three minutes.

"You, Curse Born- "

"Jacob, Jacob Vermont, one of the seven heirs to the House of Vermont."

"I suggest the young lady, to mind your manners when speaking with a member of noble family, which happens to be hosting this extravagant event."

"You, a lowlife dare to- "

As Abigail tried to touch Jake, a sudden chill ran down her spine, as she saw the eyes of Jake, staring, glaring at her as if any sudden movement may steal her soul.

"Enough Jacob, come quick I will not wait for long and you Miss Meliora, this may be reported back to the Matriarch of the Meliora Family so I too, suggest you for stopping your nonsense here."

A voice echoed throughout the Guest Hall of the First floor.

Jacob started walking again, and slowly climbed the stairs.

While the young lady went back to her seat, still trembling with the fear of Jacob's eyes.

The guards escorting him, came forward and started to move in sync with his steps as he rose to the Second Floor.

Somewhere within the First floor,

"Did you hear that!?"

"Yeah, what was that? Was it magic?".

The crowd continued their discussion.

While in some blind corner, of the floor beside a pillar,

"So, he can use sound transmission. Interesting.", mumbled a boy in white and pink.

Meanwhile in the Roundtable Hall,

A figure in dark sitting in one of the twelve seats spoke,

"In these 10 years, the empire has developed a lot and tried to oppress use martial clans in the name of tax collection and moral punishments"

"That is quite the intriguing point to be heard from you, Oldie"

"…"

"When will be serious, Huh"

"Well, there is also Sino-Marquis law for Only us."

"I think we all agree, that there may be a need to- "

"Rebel?"

"No, you Old Bastard."

"Recompile, is it"

"Reconcile and no I am thinking of Negotiations or a Plead."

"Pleading! You moron, we are the Twelve Grand Patriarchs and you say that we have to plead"

"Well, technically we pledged allegiance to the Kingdom of Damascus, not the Empire"

"And you very well know as to why."

"Their demands were to much, I mean who would 'gift' their Ancestral weapons and training techniques, huh"

"Yes, that was quite the terrifying thing, I am still haunted by the thought of that proposal"

"But we got to do something, isn't it right Duke Vermont ?"

"Hmmm…I think we must speak with the prince who is going to arrive here tomorrow for the event as to what we should do, we should postpone our plans till then."

"Is it all Ok for everyone."

"Yes"

"…", raised his hand.

"Oh so agree too Huh, then count me in"

"Me too"

"Then this year's Head Meeting of the 'Family Gathering' is adjourned and will or may be continued after the end of the event."

Slowly wind blows outside the Hall window, as swallows fly high with eyes on the sky.
