"Zz... Everyone, get out of the vehicles now."
Holding the GTAM surface-to-air guided missile launchers, Airon handed one to George and then went into the Humvee cabin to retrieve a large backpack with supplies and an M250 machine gun.
They didn't know when or if they could get rid of the helicopters. Therefore, after unloading all the supplies, including those confiscated by George and Gild from the cabin basement, everyone distanced themselves from the armored vehicles.
"Do you think it's a good idea?" Victor asked, observing the size of the missile launchers on Daryl and George's shoulders.
Airon held advanced binoculars and spoke with a calm voice, "Well, so far we've been lucky to survive in the forest... We don't have any signal to communicate with the central base and request air support, so considering the situation, the smartest thing to do is eliminate the targets in the sky."
"Alright, let's move and discuss the plan on the way!"
...
Airon and the others ventured further into the forest, searching for a strategic location where they could await the enemy helicopters. They had taken the time to devise a careful plan that would give them the best chance to shoot down the helicopters and escape the threat they posed.
Once in position, they remained silent, their eyes and ears attentive to the sky, waiting for the imminent approach of the helicopters. Airon's heart pounded, aware that the success of their plan was crucial for everyone's survival.
Finally, the sound of helicopter blades became audible in the distance. Airon and the others prepared themselves, ready to act at the precise moment. With firm hands and determined looks, they aimed the missile launchers towards the sky, waiting for the right moment to fire.
"Hold on, just wait!"
When the helicopters were close enough, Airon gave the signal. The missiles were launched into the air, leaving a trail of smoke as they flew towards their targets. Tension filled the air as everyone awaited the outcome of their attack.
"Boom! Boom!"
The missiles hit the enemy helicopters with precision, causing a spectacular explosion that echoed through the forest. Fire and debris filled the sky as the helicopters plummeted to the ground in an uncontrolled descent.
A collective sigh of relief swept through Airon's group as they witnessed the destruction of the helicopters. Airon knew they had achieved a significant victory in their struggle to survive under unfavorable circumstances.
With the danger seemingly neutralized, the group quickly moved away from the scene, seeking refuge in a safer environment. Airon led the march, aware that they had to remain alert and prepared to face any challenges that arose on their path to survival.
"Oh my God!" George exclaimed after taking down two helicopters in less than a minute.
"A tragedy, let's get moving and ignore this," Airon said as he returned to the Humvees.
"That will attract a lot of walkers..." Daryl also set off.
...
A few meters away from the burning helicopters, there were several figures lying on the ground. Some had severe head injuries, others had broken spines, and those who could move a little better only had minor fractures and concussions.
"Ahhhhhhh!"
The situation grew increasingly desperate. After the airstrikes, some of the soldiers who had been hunting Airon's group with difficulty tried to contact the CRM base, seeking immediate help and evacuation.
"Wake up... Come on, wake up..."
"He's dead, Sarah..."
"Mark, how do they have that kind of military weaponry?"
"It was our mistake... We knew they were probably military; they recognized us, so we likely crossed paths before..."
"Walkers are coming." Sarah grabbed her pistol and moderately accurate shots rang out, targeting the walkers' heads.
Bang! Bang!
Mark, with trembling hands and a racing heart, tried to communicate through radios and communication devices, begging for a response that could save them from their impending nightmare.
"Damn it, we need someone to answer! Someone has to be out there!"
"Keep trying, David! We can't give up. We need them to come for us!"
However, before they could receive a response, the darkness was filled with screams and roars. The surviving men's gaze turned towards the source of those terrifying sounds, and their worst nightmares came true as figures slowly emerged from the darkness.
Their faces were flushed, an expression of pure evil and depravity. We knew they were members of the Red Army, and their presence only meant one thing: more violence and death.
"Oh my God, it's them! We're finished!"
"We have to hide! We can't let them find us!"
Illuminated by the fire from the burning helicopters, the figures of the Red Army began their brutal slaughter. Cold-blooded and merciless, they killed the defenseless survivors who had no chance to escape their unleashed fury. Chaos and horror took hold of the place that had once been a refuge for survival, while screams of anguish and desperation filled the air.
"I can't believe what I'm seeing! They're killing everyone without mercy!
"Stay undercover! Don't let them see you!
Amidst the chaos and horror, some of the survivors managed to escape and ran towards where Airon and the others were. We knew that their only hope lay in coming together and facing the darkness that surrounded them.
"Let's go, we must reach them! We need to join forces!"
"We won't let them catch us! We'll fight to the last breath!"
Those who could still move ran through the trees and bushes, miraculously trying to find those who had tried to kill them moments ago.
As they tried to find shelter, the illumination from the burning helicopters revealed the horrifying truth. The members of the Red Army pounced on the survivors, ruthlessly killing them. Their faces twisted by evil and depravity revealed in the carnage.
"No, no, nooooo!"
"Ahhhhhhhh!"
"Hahaha!"
