Chapter 515 - A harsh truth

Airon, the leader of the S.C.T., acknowledged the need for medical intervention and called upon one of the doctors from his group. Bob, a skilled physician, responded quickly and arrived with his medical tools backpack in hand.

Together, Airon and Bob made their way to the floor where the injured person in need of surgery was located. The urgency and seriousness of the situation were reflected in Bob's determination as he prepared to work.

Kiano, the leader of the local community, was unfamiliar with Airon and Bob, but his gratitude towards them was evident. He sincerely thanked them for their help and took the opportunity to share the details of the incident that had led the injured person to their critical state.

The injured person, in a desperate attempt to escape the walkers, had suffered a severe abdomen injury. The circumstances were unfortunate, but the presence of Airon and Bob brought a ray of hope amidst the adversity.

With skill and precision, Bob delved into the task of saving the injured person's life. His expert hands handled the tools with dexterity as he focused on the delicate surgery. Each movement carried a sense of responsibility and determination.

Bob, the experienced military medic who had been following Airon for over a year, prepared himself to perform a delicate surgery on the injured person. Before starting, he carefully assessed the situation and determined that they would need to administer AB blood to stabilize the patient's condition.

"We're going to need AB blood for this procedure." Bob announced to his team as he prepared the necessary materials. "Check if we have any donors with that blood type available."

"Considering how malnourished these people look, someone from our group might be able to help."

"No need, we have bags of AB blood in our reserves." A supporting doctor pointed out the information on the tablet they were handling.

One of the medical team members quickly reviewed the records and confirmed that they had a bag of AB blood ready to be used. Bob expressed his gratitude and ordered the preparation of an intravenous line to transfuse the blood to the patient.

As the preparation was underway, Bob approached the injured person, who showed signs of pain and weakness. "Hello, my friend." Bob calmly said. "We're here to help you. We'll do everything we can to ensure your recovery."

The injured person weakly nodded, grateful for the attention and care they were receiving. Bob proceeded to explain the procedure and assured them that they would be under constant observation to ensure their safety.

With the intravenous line ready, Bob began the transfusion of AB blood to the patient. The life-giving fluid flowed through the veins, providing the necessary components to restore stability and balance in their body.

As the blood flowed, Bob initiated the next phase of the surgery: suturing the wound in the injured person's abdomen. With skill and care, he sutured layer by layer, ensuring the incision was completely closed and promoting proper healing.

"You're doing a great job, Bob." One of the medical team members remarked, admiring his skill and focus on the task.

Bob smiled, appreciating the words of encouragement, but he didn't lose focus on his work. He knew that the surgical intervention was crucial for the patient's survival, and he couldn't afford any mistakes.

Finally, after hours of meticulous work, the surgery came to an end. The injured person was taken to a recovery room where they would be closely monitored in the coming hours.

Bob removed his gloves and mask, feeling a sense of relief and satisfaction for successfully completing the operation. He approached Kiano, the leader of the community, who was anxiously awaiting news about the surgery.

"The surgery was a success." Bob said with a relieved smile. "The patient is in recovery now and will be under intensive care for the next few hours. We did everything we could for them, and we hope they recover soon."

Kiano sighed in relief and thanked Bob for his skill and dedication. "I'm deeply grateful for everything you've done for them." Kiano sincerely expressed. "You're a true example of bravery and compassion in this chaotic world."

Bob humbly nodded and replied, "We're just doing our job, trying to help people in the best way possible. We're here to support communities and ensure everyone has a chance to survive and live a dignified life."

With the successful operation, the medical team continued their work, ensuring the patient received the necessary care and follow-up for a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Airon and the S.C.T. would continue their mission of providing assistance and hope to those they encountered in this post-apocalyptic world.

Ten minutes later, in a slightly dilapidated conference room, people from two teams sat around a conference table made up of several desks.

There were six people sitting next to Kiano. These should be the settlement's administration. Behind them were over 20 men and women. These people should also be part of the administration, but there weren't enough seats for everyone to sit.

On the other side, only Airon was seated, while the rest stood behind, delineating the power structures of the two sides.

Kiano also realized that this man named Airon held a high status in the opposing team.

"Alright, let's not waste any time. You should all have heard that a horde of walkers is heading towards our base. I've already sent people to assess the situation, and we'll soon know the exact location of the danger."

"I called everyone here for another matter. Let me introduce you first. This is Mr. Airon, the leader of an organization called S.C.T. From what I understand, his group went out to gather supplies and encountered a horde of walkers. His group split into two, but even in a time where no one can be trusted, his people saved Tony from dying."

"After learning about our situation, Airon has something to tell you, so I called everyone here to discuss it more closely. Now we'll hear what Airon has to say."

After speaking, Kiano sat down and nodded to Airon, indicating that he could begin.

After clearing his throat, Airon knew it was time for him to launch... um... a sincere invitation.

"Listen to me attentively." Airon said bluntly. "The reality is that here, in this community, you're fighting day in and day out to survive. But let me tell you something: survival is not enough. Do you want to continue living in constant fear, struggling for a handful of food and limited resources?"

The survivors' gaze fixed on Airon, curious about his words and determined to listen to what he had to say.

"In my community, the S.C.T., we've achieved more than just survival." Airon continued. "We've built a place where security, prosperity, and stability are our daily reality. We don't settle for mere existence; we strive to live a fulfilling and enriching life."

Some survivors began exchanging looks, clearly intrigued by what Airon was proposing.

"I offer you an opportunity to join us." Airon firmly declared. "We won't only provide you with protection and basic sustenance, but you'll have access to a thriving community where food is abundant and amenities are not a luxury but a reality."

There were murmurs of astonishment and anticipation among the survivors. Airon continued without showing signs of hesitation.

"I'll be honest with you." Airon said. "We don't expect you to join us out of loyalty or affection. What we offer is an opportunity for survival and a promising future. The choice is yours..."

The survivors looked at each other, processing Airon's offer. The weight of their current situation bore down on them, and the idea of a better and safer place seemed tempting.

Airon concluded his speech with a direct but sincere warning: "You must know that our community is not for the weak. We demand dedication, hard work, and a survival mindset. Those who do not comply with our norms and rules will not be tolerated."

The room fell silent for a moment, and then some survivors began approaching Airon, showing interest in joining his community. Others stayed behind, reflecting on the difficult decision they had ahead.

Airon knew that his direct and raw approach might seem ruthless, but he also knew that in this post-apocalyptic world, survival didn't come hand in hand with pretty words and empty promises. It was necessary to be clear and direct to ensure the safety and future of his community.
