Chapter 497 - At the border [3]

The next day, Troy led a group of twenty elite soldiers. At the moment, the team is patrolling near the border base when suddenly they come across a group of soldiers dressed in the distinctive CRM uniform.

As they advance through the streets, Troy's convoy encounters a direct confrontation with the CRM convoy. Tension fills the air as both convoys meet.

At the same time, a CRM soldier shouts loudly and defiantly, "Identify yourselves! This area is now under CRM observation. Identify yourselves immediately."

Troy Otto removes his mask and, using his right hand to shield the sun, says, "What the hell are your questions? We are fulfilling our mission to clear this place under the orders of our organization, and we have been tasked with eliminating any threats. As for you, what the hell are you doing in our damn territory?"

While they both speak, soldiers from both the CRM and the S.C.T. step out of their vehicles and face each other in the street.

Upon seeing this, the captain of the CRM soldiers frowns and points, "Our intention is none of your concern, Captain. It would be best if you retreated before things get ugly for you."

Troy tightens his grip on his weapon, smirks indifferently, and says, "I'm not willing to negotiate or ask questions or even make demands. If you're here, it means you're a threat to our survival. And I won't hesitate to use the necessary force to protect my team and this base."

Tension escalates as both groups prepare for the confrontation. The CRM soldiers draw their weapons and aim them at Troy's team, while Troy and his men respond in kind, ready to defend themselves.

The leader of the CRM group in Mississippi looks at Troy. He knows Troy is lying at the moment since his mission was to explore and gather information, but from the borders of Alabama, there were strong surveillance posts and soldiers patrolling the surroundings.

This mission had become complicated. Although he had already sent an initial report about the investigation, it wasn't enough. That's why he says, "Last chance, Captain. Retreat or face severe consequences."

"You've chosen the wrong path by crossing our path. I regret it for you now." Troy smirks and raises his weapon, opening fire instantly.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Without further words, the firefight erupts. Gunshots fill the air, and bullets fly between the two groups. Soldiers take cover behind nearby objects, seeking protection as they try to eliminate their opponents.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A CRM soldier shouts, "You have no idea who you're messing with! The CRM will crush you all."

Troy, hidden behind a large fallen wall, says, "I don't care who you are! I won't allow you to threaten our safety and survival."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The fight is intense, and soldiers from both sides demonstrate their skill and determination. Troy and his team advance strategically, covering each other while shooting and moving forward.

Troy immediately informs his group, "Keep moving forward, don't retreat! Maintain formation and annihilate those CRM soldiers."

Bang!

The noise of gunfire, explosions, and shouts fills the air as the battle unfolds. Troy and his men fight with relentless ferocity, eliminating the CRM soldiers one by one, but they also suffer casualties and injuries.

"Don't leave a single one standing! Let's eliminate these invaders." As the confrontation nears its end, the CRM soldiers are overwhelmed and begin to retreat. Troy and his team continue to pursue them relentlessly.

On the other side, a CRM soldier falls after receiving multiple shots to the chest. Another soldier nearby shouts to their leader, "Sir, we're being massacred!"

"This is not over! The CRM will come back stronger, and you'll regret crossing our path." The captain of the CRM soldiers is desperate.

"I'm not concerned about your empty threats. If you cross our path again, we will confront you time and time again."

According to Airon's words, the CRM is nothing more than an obstacle in our path to survival. With determination in his eyes, Troy approaches the CRM soldier, pointing his weapon directly at him.

Some other soldiers had turned the corner and directly eliminated the remaining soldiers.

Bang Bang Bang!

Troy walks towards the wounded leader of the dead CRM soldiers and says, "You still have time to surrender and come with us. What do you say?"

"I will never surrender to scum like you. I would rather die than submit."

Troy smiles and says, "So be it."

Without hesitation, Troy pulls the trigger and shoots the CRM soldier, neutralizing him instantly.

The battle has come to an end, but the message has been clear: the S.C.T. was now prepared to defend their borders, and at the same time, the CRM soldiers had discovered their bases.

Troy's team of soldiers regroup, recovering from the confrontation as they assess the situation. A soldier struggling to breathe says, "That was intense, Captain. But we did what we had to do."

Troy looks at some of his fallen soldiers and says, "Those soldiers were not mere survivors; they were well-trained military personnel."

"Do you think there are more CRM soldiers in our territory?" a soldier asks immediately.

"I don't know, but we must investigate the surroundings."

"Yes, sir."

...

Troy was surveying the area after the confrontation when his eyes fell upon a severely wounded CRM soldier lying on the ground. He quickly approached and knelt beside him.

"Can you hear me? Hang on, soldier. We will help you."

The severely wounded CRM soldier had horror in his eyes, looking at Troy with difficulty. "Sir... Don't waste time... It's futile... My wounds are incurable..."

Troy Otto, although he had killed these soldiers, was not a heartless man, so he held onto the hand of this soldier and said, "You won't be alone..."

"I'm sorry, I was just following... orders."

The other soldiers approached and realized the situation. One of them rushed to get medical supplies while another called a doctor from the base.

"Captain, what can we do for him?"

"Do everything possible to stabilize him and keep him alive. We're not going to abandon this man who may provide us with valuable information." Troy immediately said.

As the team worked to provide care for the wounded soldier, Troy leaned in, eager to obtain valuable information.

"Soldier, I need you to tell me everything you know about the CRM base. What are they planning? Where is it located?" Troy's tone was firm.

"Before... before the virus... spread... the military and the CIA... protected a part of the country... that's... what we now... know as the CRM."

Troy and the other soldiers were surprised to hear this. "The military and the CIA? They protected a part of the country? Why didn't they tell us? Why did they hide the truth?"

The severely wounded soldier pointed with effort, "I don't know... secrets... hidden interests... I'm only telling you the truth... because... you deserve... to know."

Troy absorbed the information, unable to help feeling a mix of frustration and curiosity. He knew he had to investigate more about the CRM and its connections to the military and the CIA.

"Soldier, thank you for sharing this with me. Rest now, we will give you the best care possible."

The soldier weakly smiled and closed his eyes, his breath growing weaker as life slowly faded from his body.

Troy stood up and faced his team. "Listen, everyone, this changes things. We have to send this information to the central base."

The soldiers nodded, sharing their leader's determination. They knew this new information would change the course of their missions and their struggle to survive in this devastated world.

With the weight of the revelation on their shoulders, Troy's team prepared to face the challenges that awaited them. The search for answers about the CRM had become a necessity for all.
