Chapter 341 - Shadow and Journey

In fact, Rick wanted to refuse at first, but when the words reached his lips, he suddenly thought of his wife. If Lori had been allowed to leave with him and let her realize the reality before she was infected, would she still die as she did or would there have been another outcome?

Thinking about this, he hesitated for a moment and then changed his mind, it would be good to let them out, but as soon as Carl opened his mouth, his face changed.

He put his arms around his son's shoulders and looked at him seriously.

"No, Carl, you're too young."

"Father, I'm not young anymore, besides, you can't protect me all the time, can you? Now that my mother has passed away, if someday..."

He didn't continue speaking, but everyone present understood the meaning of his words and intentions, even though it was only an unintentional comment from a child, it also silenced all the adults for a moment.

If one day even Rick dies, who can he trust? Then he has to grow up and be strong, doesn't?

The two women looked at the boy with some anguish, as Rick hugged his son directly and assured him softly in his ear.

"I'm not leaving you, ever!"

Carl didn't give up on his idea and asked.

"So you agreed to let me go on?"

"No, not this time."

Airon, who had been watching this silently on the side, had finally given up his anger and looked at Carl with different thoughts.

In the comic, Carl is the future of humanity and is the one who leads the entire community to a better future. However, in the series he unfortunately died in a somewhat controversial way that caused the anger of many people. The defenses of all the fans were that Carl, as a child killed three walkers but when he was a grown up, experienced and intelligent mistress he died inexplicably at the hands of a walker.

Thought that Carl could this time have a better future and even become a good leader, he had to interfere: "Listen Carl, you will have to undergo training for a long time, including all the children who are with you. When you've mastered the skills to protect yourself, we'll agree to go out together, but now you still can.Do you know how to shoot.Do you know how to use a knife?"

The boy shook his head in confusion.

"Then that means you're not ready yet, and if your father still doesn't want to let you out we'll go on missions together without him noticing, okay?"

In Carl's eyes, he always considered Airon as an idol, and when his idol spoke, he immediately forgot his previous thoughts and began to imagine what he would look like when he left this place.

But before Airon finished speaking, he stood up and looked at Amy, and nodded again after thinking for a moment.

"You and those who still want to go outside can do so, you are aware of the world outside and all my warnings to desist from such ridiculous ideas, this time I will lead the team!"

Seeing the smile on Amy's face, immediately Airon left her silent with his cold and harsh words.

"But I want you to know very well! If you cause any trouble, endanger the team or the operation, you will have to take responsibility. If you don't think you can do it, don't even bother to get out of the car."

"Okay, don't worry!"

"Well, then go and talk to the others who want to join us, we'll leave early tomorrow morning."

Finally, Airon turned his attention to Michonne, who had been standing there.

"Michonne, what's wrong with you?"

"It's nothing, I just walked through the door and heard you're going out with Rick, and I want to join you."

"You're always welcome, but you might be babysitting other desperate women!"

Airon couldn't help but say that comment as he watched Amy and those accompanying them leave, in the last few months there was a strong relationship between the group that left home base a few months ago, so this banter was between friends.

"That's fine, I'll at least teach them the basics so they don't die soon."

"That's your decision, I can't take care of everyone...":

Looking at Airon smiling, Michonme left the office leaving Rick and Carl next to Airon.

"I know what you're worried about, nothing that bad will happen since that place we're going to isn't that populated with walkers."

"I hope so..." Airon looked at Rick and said goodbye to the father and son.

Seeing that the surroundings were silent, Airon looked at the map and closed his eyes wearily. It was all much more complicated than he had originally thought, but if Amy and the others wanted to leave, it wouldn't stop them from doing so.

...

Early the next day, at a power company far from the city and the central base.

There were many things to take into account before attempting to do something like what they were about to try, but everything in the end is based on timing and evidently luck. It took Georgia a long time to reroute the power to the most important places and override the power in areas they wouldn't use for now.

So, Airon just wanted to try whether or not he could do it. This time he went out with about thirteen people, his original group plus some extra people. Since there were so many people and there was no need to mobilize personnel due to the big job he was doing at the central base, Airon only went out with his modified RV that had been repaired after taking numerous bullet hits.

Getting to that location took about a few hours, this company was in an open location where there was not much population.

Abraham looked at the entrance to this company and said with some boredom, "As a kid I wanted to be an electrician, but the path of strength won me over and I decided to be a soldier."

"Me and Airon talked about going to the White House and taking it over as a base, but that would be a bit of a problem..." Glenn looked at Airon with a smile before getting a nudge from Maggie.

But Negan looked at him with a smile on his face, not forgetting to tease him, "Yeah, why didn't we think about going to the White House when we were in Alexandria?"

Abraham slapped his thigh suddenly, and there was some regret in his words, "Fuck, that's too bad."

Daryl, who was sitting there cleaning the bow and crossbow, suddenly scoffed and said without raising his head, "You want to go there to play with the corpses? Washington was no exception when they bombed the city just like they did Atlanta, even the CDC blew up."

"..."

"Okay, let's get ready."

The search was very quick, and indeed a lot of PV power generation equipment was found as expected, but no employees were found, but some employees were found who had become corpses, trapped in the bedroom.

After cutting off the walker that came out of a door, Airon sighed, it is really hard to move in these places without knowing their structure very well.

Now even if there were many walkers, there were few things he was afraid of but still he was ready to face them without any fear.

Now his group was at the best point, all the members of his main group he hung out with were well fed, strong and smart and all were experienced in fighting walkers or people.

Airon had seen different movies before of zombies, those red eyed walkers were similar to ones he knew quite well. He always asked himself the question that in an apocalypse, which walkers would he want to show up?

The answers were always the same, the slow ones as they would survive longer.

The slow and dumb walkers are the easiest to deal with.

Not to mention that it's impossible for the walkers to be that orderly, I mean, there must be at least tens of thousands of walkers to die surrounded.

I might have a chance!

However, after reincarnating in a terrifying world, what an experience as a soldier was filled with brutality and he lost many loved ones. After his honorable death, he thought it would be the end.

But he woke up in another world and with no apparent memories of his past life, but as time passed that coldness in his emotions and indifference to killing were changed, slowly recovering his emotions.

When the time came to resolve the knot in his heart, he was able to live to the fullest in this life and slowly regain the beauty of this world in a direction where all are equal.

His sacrifices once again are bringing hope to this cruel and dead world, and his desire to be free drove him to create a whole new world as he thrives.

...

After clearing this whole place out, Airon had made a decision and contacted the base in Atlanta to send a squad to protect this place.

"We have to go to South Carolina!"

With this prayer, the group quickly moved on to South Carolina. This time your people were taking Alabama, so advancing to Georgia or Alabama was useless to your progress, so now your group was about to advance to a new place that would in the future be part of your territory.

Two and a half hours of travel later, the RV gradually approached this place to stalk a glimpse.

According to people with experience from Atlanta, I could not grant electric power to the central base as it does not connect directly to that part. Therefore, according to records there were similar installations in South Carolina.

Their objective this time is simple and if anything it would take time to mobilize. When they arrived at the outskirts of town, there were facilities similar to an industrial area and all were on the side of the road with logos of different companies.

The group were not idle, they all spread out and looked at both sides of the road, trying to find their target this time among the many buildings.

"In that place."

They all looked in the direction Daryl pointed, and there was a ten-story building silently a hundred yards in front of it. Behind this building was a taller building, at least twenty stories, it's not these two buildings that attracted everyone, but a row of capital letters on the roof.

Oxxen Electric Company!

This is the destination of your trip. It looks like no one has been here for a long time. There are many abandoned cars on the road, blocking their way forward. George had to slow down the RV and move forward slowly.

Airon knew very well that there should be some survivors in the building, but he couldn't say it directly for sure, he could only remind his group.
