Chapter 333 - Annoyed Sam

Looking at the surprised expressions of the people around him, Sam sensed that apparently many here needed to be aware of what was going on so he said, "Would anyone be so kind as to say what you all are here for?"

Everyone looked at Captain Sam Valdez with confusion, no one understood what exactly was going on but what they were sure of was that they were being blamed for something.

"Sir, all of us have complied with all the rules and our work is in order, could you tell me what the problem is to be aware of what is going on?"

A middle aged researcher stepped forward, he was one of the captains of the research groups so he stepped forward to find out about the situation.

Sam pondered for a moment and then slowly said, "The commander sent a rather interesting message, apparently someone leaked the vaccine that we specifically manufactured here that you guys have control of."

"Since you guys joined you must know all about the virus and also that not just anyone should have the jurisdiction to tamper and research lately. You all know this due to the fact that a vaccine was manufactured in New York that altered the Wildfire virus variant, or am I wrong?"

There were many whispers among the crowd of researchers, everyone was puzzled due to the news they received and they all looked at each other looking for the person responsible for this embarrassing situation.

"Even if the vaccine was leaked in some way that I see unlikely, they can't get the same result as us."

Speaking of this, the expression of the chief investigator was a bit heavy and he said, "We have worked day and night to find a cure for this catastrophe, I think even if we did it should be checked.Where is the commander?"

"You seem to be missing the point? Some of you if not all of you have violated our trust! Many do not know this but even much larger organizations or similar to ours, kill entire communities of survivors."

"They kill people?"

Cion opened her eyes wide, feeling very surprised when she heard this one. They must know that even in the Atlanta area, the number of people doesn't exceed thirty thousand so to think that there are other similar types of organizations is something unbelievable.

But then she realized that something was wrong. You should know that the vaccine is held by all the survivors of this place and it was planned to expand the vaccine to all corners of the planet to try to reduce the possibility of internal infections numerous times.

However, she learned that the top brass of the S.C.T organization does not care that the vaccine was leaked, but that there was some sort of betrayal within their ranks. Therefore, right now everyone is trying to find the culprit and find out why did it.

If somehow her brother is alive and was discovered by the commander's people, they should know that she was the one who leaked the vaccine so that her younger brother was saved from dying of infection. But apparently the people here had no idea who the culprit was, so the chances of her brother being alive are very slim.

Realizing this, Coin asked, "When did they realize that this vaccine is from this place? Is there some kind of immune carrier or was the vaccine exposed directly?"

"It happened just a few minutes ago, the commander is very angry about the damn complications that can arise if that vaccine falls into enemy hands. Don't they understand? If someone else is immune to the virus and thus their huge bases stop producing walkers when they die a lot of things can go wrong."

Sam stroked his forehead wearily. Obviously, what happened in the last few days really made him feel very exhausted, and he hasn't had a comforting sleep in several days.

Just now in the morning, when he thought that the operation to take Birmingham should have no problems, it happened that somehow unknown to him, the vaccine was leaked to strangers.

The problem was clear that it was not the vaccine, the real problem is that there is a traitor in the base who must be killed long after the whole backstory was known.

Now all the biggest news they have uncovered will be open to the public, everyone will know the story and know what they are still working for. Some or most of the survivors of his organization would die if not for Airon's intervention, for which everyone including him is grateful.

Unlike many, he knew about the CRM and why they now needed to take much more ground possible. As long as they were not discovered, they would take the necessary power before the final fight began without much trouble.

"So, now I want to know who leaked the vaccine to proceed with the questioning."

When Sam's words were finished, the soldiers behind him raised their weapons towards the investigators and he said again, "I want you to know that you are not indispensable, all of you can be replaced if you do not meet the requirements we have asked of you."

"No, please! Consider thinking of a much more certain solution, they can't kill us all since most of us are innocent. I don't think it's that complicated, there should be a simple explanation for something so irrational."

"Huh?"

Sam raised his eyebrows, looked at the chief investigator confused and said, "What did you just say? Believe me I want to save you all and solve these problems as soon as possible, but if my commander come all the way to Atlanta and all this is not as simple as it seems, none of you will be able to save yourselves from punishment."

"Gentlemen! What is your duty?"

Sam's loud and thunderous voice frightened all the investigators, but at this moment the soldiers behind him lowered their weapons and all said at the same time, "Kill our enemies, protect our people and kill those brought even if they are our fathers!"

Sam then pulled out a radio and said, "Zz.... Report on the operation to Birmingham, how much longer will it take?"

"Zz... Sir, the planes have taken off and an army of 1800 men has been dispatched, 300 of them are working personnel and the rest are reserve soldiers along with the experienced ones."

"Zz... I want constant communication during the course of the operation, I want no surprises and also you must do a clean and fast job before nightfall."

"Zz... I'll keep you informed captain!"

"Are they going to take Birmingham?" This time, before everyone could speak, Sam interrupted them, "Things have gotten complicated, and the vaccine we're sure is coming from this place is the main problem."

"If none of you are willing to turn yourself in, you will all be imprisoned and your punishment will be much more severe than it is now. Our people will submit to a community that possesses that vaccine, we will get the information whatever it is."

After taking a paper, Sam opened it to look, but could not help but burst out laughing and then realized that it did not look right, so he quickly kept silent.

Because the paper had information about the last survivors who caused trouble and were eliminated, and unexpectedly upon confirming the names of all the investigators found a match.

There was a very troubled boy who got out of a lot of trouble and the only way he had gotten out of a lot of punishment was because of his sister. But this last crime was a very big one, for which he was sentenced to death.

Somehow, it is likely that researcher Coin delivered some doses of vaccines to her brother before releasing him as an infected person.

Sam recalls how an attempt was made to save Lori from becoming a walker, but it was impossible and now somehow the vaccines were found in Birmingham.

"It looks like we have found the leak, Miss Coin, please come with me for an interrogation. The others will return to work and be under strict supervision."

"Coin?"

"Was it you?"

"I remember that his brother was sentenced to death for his continued crimes."

He couldn't believe it
