Chapter 284 - The mine

The conversation with Negan lasted over an hour, and the members of the group outside were kept busy with their own business, and no one knew what the two in the room were talking about.

Franklin learned that these people were preparing to deal with a group of people, and from his description, they looked like the gang of thugs who had kidnapped his own people.

When Negan came out, he told him about it, but he was very calm, obviously already knowing about it due to him finding out about it earlier.

Instructing his group to help prepare, Negan got in the RV directly to accompany his wife.

The production of walker masks is still in full swing. To implement the plan, Airon didn't wait until the next day. He selected some nearly finished masks and prepared to rush to the plan in advance, while the rest of the masks had to be ready by tomorrow.

When the plan was about to begin, Airon gathered all his people and then told them about what would happen next.

After hearing the plan, everyone behaved differently, the people who came from the central base were very calm, while the people who started to follow him recently were puzzled.

After hearing the plan, a survivor from the Noah community shouted in shock.

"What, you had us create those masks for us to bring in those undead, you must be crazy!"

"Yes, if you are discovered, you will die immediately!"

Pressing his hands to signal everyone to be quiet, Airon picked up a mask from the ground and said. "You have nothing to worry about, least of all that. I did experiments a long time ago and now at the central base there are groups that are in charge of deflecting hordes with the masks. Long before the virus broke out I worked at the CDC and had access to walker behavior, so there is nothing to worry about as you will be doing the work that someone else has done."

The man was still worried, he pointed outside and said, "Let's experiment first..."

Michonne next door shook her head and explained. "It's not that I don't want to give you an experiment. Time is running out now. Let's go straight to attracting a group of walkers, so you can see the effect."

In fact, she had never seen the effect of wearing a mask, but she had guided two walkers among the walkers for several months and, with her trust in Airon, she felt that the success rate of this operation was very high.

Many people still feel that there is no confidence in their thoughts.

Fortunately, they do not need to go ahead. People after all are like that, as long as things do not happen it is easy to talk about many factors.

Seeing that the matter was basically settled, Airon said no more. Time is running out now, and every day of delay increases the possibility of accidents along the way.

After the people were selected, a group of was from the community, this time there were only five people with him and those were Michonne, T-dog, Bob, Liam and Glenn.

He didn't have anyone from Alexandria with him because he had various considerations that bothered him. First of all he didn't want to reveal too much about the information to walk among hordes of walkers, if some idiot that there were still many in the newer members betrayed him, it could cause him some problems. In his opinion, that group that openly opposed him was a dark area, which he could easily eliminate but it was not yet the time.

If they made a mistake they would be punished, if they violated the rules they would be punished accordingly, they had no choice but to follow the rules if they wanted to live within their protection. There are many jobs within Alexandria that occupy their manpower, so Airon doesn't care if they stay in this place or leave.

And he had another reason, thinking about this, he couldn't help but look at Negan, who stood in the doorway of the RV in the distance, and hesitated for a moment, but those thoughts were quickly pushed aside.

...

After selecting a car outside Alexandria and filling up the gas tank, the group set off for their destination.

They soon arrived at the mine that Airon had in store as a somewhat aggressive but optimal plan to originally confront the Saviors, and when they arrived they all heard the roar of a huge group of walkers and a strong stench of corpse overhead.

Even the few people who were used to the smell frowned, Liam pinched his nose and said, "This smell is like those cannibals in Texas!"

Glenn off to the side looked at the man named Liam with a bit of admiration, patted him and said, "I think fresh blood smells a little better than this rotten smell, I know it sounded bad but that's true."

"If they had come to Texas, I don't care if you believe me but that place was hell, I still have nightmares."

Regardless of the bickering of the people behind him, Airon drove the car straight down the hill and arrived at the mine exit.

This mine is the main reason why there are so few walkers around the Alexandria community, this mine has two exits, one on each side of the mine, and these two entrances and exits are currently blocked by four trucks, each with two long trucks, their rear containers touched each other, and all the walkers inside were blocked in the shaft, which was probably a trap-like place arranged by the military.

Airon guessed that the military should have driven a group of walkers in this place, and then four vehicles were used to block the entrance and exit. Such a simple design only met the two most important conditions.

First, there must have been a group of walkers gathered here in the early days of the end of the world. Second, this mine is very large and can accommodate many walkers who gradually came to this place.

The group of walkers can provide a horde effect, gathering walkers from the surrounding area here. Due to the huge capacity of the mine shaft, more and more undead gather here, and the more walkers are in one spot, the more scattered walkers will be attracted. These two coincidences formed the unique living conditions of Alexandria in the early stage.

However, these advantages were not fully exploited.

Those soldiers who brought the walkers at the beginning never imagined that a trap they had inadvertently set up would play such an important role.

At this moment, it was estimated that the number of walkers in the mine exceeded tens of thousands. Airon looked at the five people behind him, smiled, and then gave some instructions. "Make sure you remember how to communicate for a while, otherwise, they will be eaten without a chance to defend themselves, understand?"

"Yes."

"Okay, let's get started!"

...

Boom, boom, boom.

A truck blocking the entrance pulled away, and the walkers blocked behind were instantly released. They walked aimlessly, but saw some of the same type standing in front and walked towards each other without hesitation in that same direction.

The walkers had only one path, so the others behind them followed.

Soon, this effect caused the mine walkers to gather towards the entrance here, slowly forming a long snake of undead.

The "walkers" in front were naturally disguised, and T-dog, who drove the truck away, quickly jumped out of the truck, also with a walker mask on his head.

The six people slowly made their way to the front, and Glenn and the others were pleasantly surprised to discover that the group of walkers actually followed them obediently as Airon said.

Although they were not used to it, and even felt as if they had their backs to death, they gradually felt relieved after walking tens or hundreds of meters.

Walking all the way to the road, they began to slow down, hoping that the walkers walking behind would catch up with them.

The surprising thing is that the walkers walking behind also slowed down, like a group of shadows, more like a flock of sheep, no wonder it is called "horde effect."

Glenn couldn't help but speak, but he didn't dare to speak directly, but spat out some words in a manner similar to a corpse's roar.

"This... really... works..."

"Really."

As the voice spread through the ears of several people, the group of walkers behind still did not respond at all. They all stared straight ahead and followed closely behind them.
