Chapter 257 - Who is good or bad?

The door of the warehouse slowly opened and the undead began to walk out of the dark warehouse. One after another, the walkers followed the same steps and walked aimlessly forward. The warehouse was apparently small at first glance. But it was a surprise that more than thirty walkers came out, and a small horde of walkers formed in no time.

The group, which at first glance numbered four, were trying to open a door of a house with an expression full of desperation, they had paid no attention to the walkers. When the door was opened, the group of four entered the house and at that moment the walkers had already arrived at their door.

One part of the group went up to the second floor of the house apparently looking for resources. Meanwhile, two others were downstairs wandering around the strange place, looking at pictures and things that the original owners of this house had abandoned.

But on the second floor, there were two other people that Airon had not identified, who were injured and lying on a bed. The original number that Airon had been in was not correct, this group had six people in total.

Many of them had lost valuable things, friends, siblings and parents. When you suffer in this way, the only thing you look for is the desire to live in tranquility without any walker ending up eating you. And today, memories are the only thing left in all those minds that have become accustomed to surviving.

Downstairs, a young man named Sheldon surveyed the surroundings and saw a vase with completely dried flowers. The water in the vase had dried up a long time ago and because of that the flowers ended up wilting.

Sheldon had been through a lot, but he had come out of it all and survived.

Crash!

At that moment, there was a distinct sound of glass shattering, and then everyone became alarmed as they moved closer to see the source of the sound. Sheldon shook his head as he saw the vase shards in their wells, signaling to everyone to let them all know that everything was okay.

"Sheldon, I need you to focus, the others are depending on our own confidence to get out of this place, can you understand that?"

Hearing the words of this man named Edward, Sheldon shook his head, he knew how important he was to the others so he understood those words even without them being spoken to him.

Edward then signaled as he looked at Penny, there was a tense look in their eyes, both knowing that the overall situation was terribly bad for everyone, not only did they have two wounded but they also didn't have the energy to waste trying to escape, no medicine to treat the wounded let alone proper weapons.

"We have to move from home and keep searching, but we will take Raj and Leonard with us, going back to this place would not be beneficial at all. We must not give up." Edward said, trying to encourage the group.

As he said that, he extended his hand towards his daughter whose name was Catalina. She looked at her father's smile and the confidence of their group, but really deep in her subconscious she knew they were all lying, but she was still relieved. She reached out and held her father's hand, trying to say that everything was okay.

"Okay, me and Penny will go get the wounded, you guys should wait here." Sheldon said as he walked up with Penny towards the second floor in search of the other people.

But Edward didn't want to wait, he thought that if there were walkers he should clear them out so that his progress with the wounded would be much smoother. Edward's confident expression hadn't faded even as he opened the door, but a small horde of walkers had appeared not far from his door.

Catalina stood behind her father Edward as he held a metal bar, but the rotting smell was getting stronger and stronger as the walkers approached, and even she could see the gaunt and rotting appearance of the walkers.

But just as she was ready to take out the walkers, she felt a large hand push her back and the moment she stepped back, Edward raised the machete in his hand and slashed the head of the first walker in front of him.

There was a loud thud on the ground, but just as he was about to join the fight, a figure walked past him, and Sheldon raised the hammer in his hand and helped Edward.

"Catalina, help Penny with the wounded, I and your father will take care of the walkers."

But as the fight grew longer and longer, Sheldon felt the walkers in front of them increase in numbers, and the hammer in his hand had slowed the rate of cutting.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a walker lunging at Edward from the side, And Sheldon quickly moved his hand and his hammer smashed that walker's forehead, but another walker had lunged at him after eliminating the one that was endangering Edward's safety.

He desperately pressed his arm against the walker's neck, trying to push it away. Sheldon felt the abnormal strength of that walker and because of his bad situation, he was in danger and for a while they fell into a stalemate.

By this time Penny had noticed the anomaly at the door of the house, seeing that it was impossible to approach due to the numerous corpses on the ground. Edward was having difficulty keeping steady. But at this moment his confidence broke, his eyes showed unbreakable determination and he pushed the walker that was attacking Sheldon with all his might and then shouted in a hoarse voice.

"Sheldon, help Penny with the wounded and make sure you get out the back door!"

Penny and Sheldon instantly understood what Edward was trying to do, and their expressions tensed, but one voice came through very determined, "No, we can still help you!"

"Sheldon, we have to help him!"

Penny turned around and walked over to the wounded, she pretended to be determined in this situation and shouted to Catalina, "Help me!"

After she finished speaking, Penny was about to help the wounded and then turn around to help Sheldon who had not yet backed away as he tried to help Edward.

But just then, the sound of howling wind was heard from outside and after seeing the figures of the walkers being pushed on their hands fall to the ground, a voice rang out loudly, "Get back, don't come out of the door!"

Accompanied by the shout, there was a burst of silent gunfire!

Bang bang bang bang, bang bang bang bang!

Drawn by the loud noise outside the door, the walkers on the steps outside the door turned around as they pushed the other walkers, but they stumbled.

When Edward and Sheldon turned around, they all looked each other in the eye as they tried to take in what was happening. And when they realized that the danger was lessening, they all dropped the guns in their hands trying to catch their breath.

Gunfire outside the door came and went quickly, the group of six slowly recovered and quietly watched the situation outside the door.

Sheldon was the first who approached the door, and used his body to try to be the only shield in case any misfortune happened.

A few seconds later, a black-clad figure walked slowly toward the house they were in. The sunlight outside the door shone behind the man, making it difficult to see his appearance. As everyone looked at this figure, he had already made it to the door.

"You were lucky, is anyone hurt?"

...

Minutes later, seven people were sitting in the living room of the house. The group who were so far in a life and death situation looked at the clean-cut looking man in front of them, a little curious about his identity.

"Sir, we thank you for saving our group. My name is Sheldon, this man next to me is Edward and next to him is his daughter Catalina, Penny and the wounded are Raj and Leonard."  After saying this, Sheldon extended his hand with a modest smile, full of gratitude.

Airon reached out and shook this person's hand, and just as he was about to ask something, he heard the sound coming from a stomach in this group.

Withdrawing his hand, Sheldon flashed an awkward smile, and when Airon saw this, he changed his words and asked, "How long has it been since you've eaten?"

"It's been three days. We've eaten all the things we found before, we can live today because of the water, but now we don't have much."

Airon nodded as he heard these words and then looked at the wounded who were silent. He didn't know the identity of these people, but they are definitely born survivors. This group was strong, of that there was no doubt, he could tell that the best and strongest were the ones who were wounded, but that wasn't all there was to this group.

These thoughts simply flashed through Airon's mind, he stood up and said to the six people in this room, "Come on, I'll take you guys out for some good food."

"This... You saved us, how can we take your stuff? It's not appropriate…"

Edward shook his head stubbornly. Although he was very hungry, he still hoped to get food by himself. The other party had already helped them a lot by spending their bullets that were hard to come by. He too was a survivor and knew what a plate of food and gun cartridges meant.

Looking at these people for a moment, they seemed lost, but then they heard Airon suddenly say: "I am a leader of a community, a safe place where your skills could help enhance everyone's safety, you have the open invitation, are you willing To join?"

They all looked at each other for a few seconds, but it was Sheldon who immediately responded: "Of course!"
