Nine-thirty in the morning.
Texas.
Some flags with irreconcilable patterns crossed vertically at the guard post at the entrance to Neil's base, and rattled with the occasional force in the air.
In the central area of the shelter, many people wore this strange clothing with the same patterns and all headed in the same direction. Everyone's mannerisms were very strange. Some people who were normal seemed out of place.
After watching for a while, this group of people lazily found a place to stand or sit, chatted with familiar companions and laughed wildly among themselves, as if they were not paying attention to the enemy they had been attacking since morning.
But in a building outside that base, Morgan carefully settled his head, put the telescope and his hand in front of his eyes, observing the situation in that shelter.
His eyes roamed the area of these people at the main entrance, and he secretly remembered the position of the patrol personnel, but when he looked at the eighty or so people standing in the middle of the city, he couldn't help but scoff slightly.
"Zz... Morgan here, I'm in position."
...
Doomsday Cult base.
Mall.
"My God, there are so many people here."
At that moment, Alicia and Nick saw through telescopic sights the mall where Teddy and according to people should be, outside there were some walls made from containers where there was a crowd of guards gathered, and they couldn't help but marvel.
Hundreds of people might only be a small number before the end of the world, but after the change, they were still a large group of people.
If Airon were present in that building and saw their astonished faces, he would secretly say that this tiny number was absolutely nothing.
Not to mention the amount of people and equipment in their camp, whether it's the two bases serving Teddy's cult that stretch across half of the southern region, or that mysterious organization called Firefly, nothing compares to the CRM or the S.C.T., with the combat power they have they could crush without making many games like Airon is now doing.
Of course, when he mentions Fireflies he doesn't take them into account much since he doesn't know them, and that will happen quite often as his community grows. What he has to do from now on is to take all those bases and add them to his force, growing in power and people.
"They're all positioned to attack, I don't know how many of all these people will survive."
Through the binoculars, Nick watched the two trucks driving from the right side of the base toward the center. Soon, some members of Teddy's cult were sitting in the rear compartment, while the rest walked on either side of the car, slowly making their way toward the center.
The speed of movement was slow, and you could tell they were acting nonchalant.
"They really aren't taking us seriously, those people don't expect what's coming their way."
Seeing the situation in the cult, Daryl spat on the ground angrily and cursed, "Bunch of scum, it seems ironic that they want to destroy the world with nukes!"
"Yeah, it really is scary to think that those people are looking for a united purpose."
"Maybe they don't know."
Alicia looked at her brother, shook her head and said, "You don't know those people, how are you so sure they don't know what they are doing?"
"Yeah, we didn't know Airon's people either and now we're here helping to destroy a shelter."
Daryl watched this in silence, it seems he and his brother weren't the only ones fighting all the time so he said, "We don't have time to know if it's right or not, you know very little of what these people have actually done, it's better this way."
Knowing that three shelters would be attacked at the same time, Alicia's eyebrows did not relax and she was still a little worried, "Will everything really be alright?"
"A base to the south is sending kids with knives to attack our people, that's why we're attacking now. Some of these people seem to lack a good leader who sympathizes with your people. When Airon warns the cult to surrender and they don't, we will attack."
Daryl really wasn't worried about this at all. Thinking about what Airon said yesterday, he smiled slightly unnoticed and said, "The cannibal group was destroyed a few days ago by our people. We thought we could have negotiated with the people who serve the cult, but they seem to be all bad people."
Then, Daryl looked to the people behind him who were silently listening to his words and said, "If you are sure to follow us to the end, you can do so once we finish the things that will be done here. If you think we are the bad guys and we are not considering everyone, you can leave. Everyone here knows we are surviving, we don't want to die from a damn bomb, at least I don't."
"Radio in that we're in position!"
After receiving the order, Ian took the radio without saying a word and walked to the window, ready to report his position.
"Zz... Airon, we're in position!"
"Waiting for news of the negotiation!"
...
At the same time.
In doomsday cult territory a few kilometers away.
As an important place where the cult lives, this place occupies a larger location and they have several outposts that are distributed around the commercial center.
Although they have purposes in disagreement, Airon can't deny that this place is really a good safe place that was built with much effort.
But now in several blind spots of this base many armored cars and Humvees with machine guns were positioned ready to start an elimination operation. Everyone knew that attack had been confirmed, so now they just had to eliminate these people.
The walls made from cars and containers were distributed around the base, which would facilitate the attack they had planned.
At the main point where Airon was, a shirtless and tattooed man came out of the inner area of a booth, surrounded by two armed men behind him, followed by a man holding a hammer.
At that moment, Airon grabbed a radio with his hand and said, "Teddy, I heard a lot about you from the Vultures.... I also have in my possession a key that you have been looking for for some time."
"You have five minutes for everyone to gather in the open space, I honestly don't care anymore who lives or dies inside your base, but for everyone who still wants to live, gather in the main square and do not hold weapons for any reason."
"This is the only way you can live, I also took it upon myself to tell your other two bases, but they did not understand the true meaning of our purpose."
"The Vultures killed some of my men and that is why they will be under attack, if they die at least I want them to know why they died. Teddy, I heard you were a reasonable man, surrender and I will let them live, but if in five minutes they don't come out, they will all die."
After explaining the matter, Airon handed the radio to one of his men and signaled for everyone to be ready.
As everyone knows, there are several hundred pairs of eyes watching the cult, watching their every move.
"Well... Here there are... Some three hundred people outside..."
Holding the binoculars in his hand, Airon confirmed the positions of all the patrolling personnel and kept all their positions in his mind.
After confirming all the people, he held up the radio in his hand and said, "Shane and Morgan, how's your side?"
Morgan's reply soon came from the intercom, "On my side, there are two hundred..."
"Well, let me confirm the battle plan now. If they don't come out in five minutes two helicopters will drop some very nice presents on them, that will be more than enough for me and Sam to go in to take out as many of the enemy as possible without knowing we're attacking them directly."
"I want the snipers up high, I need the team on the ground ready to swoop in and assassinate any threat."
"The rest of you, stand by for orders!"
"Roger that, sir!"
"Right..."
As Airon spoke about the orders, he picked up a radio and reported, "I want the white candy to approach the mission!"
"We arrive in minutes sir, awaiting orders."
"Then let's wait!"
