Chapter 223 - Something Unexpected

"Alicia... How is your family?"

The middle-aged man's words reached Airon's ears, causing his hand holding the gun to stop, he looked at him in surprise and then looked at Alicia, "Do you know him?"

"My God, it's really you!!!

Seeing Alicia closer, the middle-aged man looked intently at Alicia and after removing the scarf on his face said, "I'm Daniel Zalazar, after the destruction of the dam I couldn't see you again."

"Daniel?"

Hearing the name, Alicia took the flashlight and shone it on the other person's face, and a familiar face appeared in front of her. Leaving his backpack and firearms in the van, Daniel Salazar walked slowly forward.

Although the two parties used to know each other, there had been countless incidents of people who knew each other stabbing each other in the past few days, so he threw away all the weapons, saying he had no malicious intentions.

Seeing the opponent's actions, Airon also slowly dropped the weapon in his hand.

"He never expects to see you again!"

It was Salazar who approached to see Alicia, although he knew that Airon could kill him if he made a suspicious move, he was fully confident that Alicia would recognize him so he was right to judge Airon's next actions well.

"I really didn't expect to run into anyone I knew on this side of Texas, I thought everyone would be somewhere else."

Walking over to the two, Salazar lightly hugged Alicia and asked, "Looks like you have a fierce companion, he hasn't let his guard down even now. Where are the others?"

Alicia smiled and then looked at Airon, "At a friend I contacted almost a year ago, it all came together recently and I was able to save his life. His helicopter crashed and he was attacked by a community called the Vultures."

Daniel looked at Airon and then at his wounds, "You have some big wounds on your body, you shouldn't be so alert otherwise your wounds won't heal. I also met a friend, he had some wounds and kept mentioning a name even after he fainted. "

After saying that, Daniel looked towards the car and shouted, "Morgan, it's okay, put down that gun and come closer."

By the time Airon heard Morgan's name, he was not the only one to be surprised but also Alicia who had heard that name on the radio. When Airon saw that bald head in the dark he felt somewhat guilty and slowly approached.

"Morgan... How are you feeling?"

Morgan looked at Airon and with a smile said, "From what I see much better than you, how did you end up in this place?"

While Airon was catching up with what had happened to Morgan, Alicia was catching up with Daniel Salazar. Before long, he learned that the soldier who had been helped by Morgan died when he sacrificed himself to attract the walkers' attention.

"Looks like we weren't the only ones to be attacked by the Vultures and a bunch of cannibalistic sons of bitches." Airon said as he shook his head.

"Are they done talking? We need to get out of this place, the Vultures and another group called the Undying Blood are searching and killing every survivor they can find."

"Looks like they are looking for us Morgan, killing over twenty Vultures wasn't a very clear message to them..."

Hearing this, Daniel knew that this was not a place for conversation and said to Airon and Alicia, "It is not an option for you to spend the night here, come with me, I have a camp nearby where I have taken in many survivors desperately escaping Texas, we should head back and tomorrow we plan what you and Morgan will do."

"Good."

As for Daniel's invitation, Brian only hesitated a moment, then nodded and nodded, he could sense that the other party was not malicious.

"You lead the way and Alicia will drive close behind you."

Seeing that the two agreed, the smile on Daniel's face became more evident, then he noticed the bandage wrapped around Airon's leg, frowned and asked nervously, "Is that a gunshot wound?"

"It wasn't done by walkers, it wouldn't be right if it wasn't."

Seeing the other party's concerns at a glance, Airon waved his hand and explained, "We passed through the suburbs away from the hectic area of Texas to get to Alicia's community, but we were ambushed by some cannibals and my wound was made at that time."

"I think they're the same..."

At the mention of this place, Daniel looked a little stunned, but quickly replied, "Looks like you were attacked by the group that attacked Morgan, they were lucky to get rid of those deranged bastards."

"Well, let's get going."

Soon Alicia climbed into the driver's seat, and Airon sat behind the seat. The two cars continued driving towards the front of the dark road one after the other, leaving behind a group of still burning bonfires.

On the way, Airon told Morgan what they had experienced in the last few hours in more detail, by his words he had a working radio from which he could contact the base once they reached Daniel's shelter, so Airon couldn't wait to get in touch with his people.

Morgan was really impressed that Airon could get out of such bloody and dangerous events, to tell the truth when he saw him take the rifle and get out of the helicopter cockpit, he thought he would never see him again. But it seems that Airon's skills and the help he got were able to get him out alive from that huge horde of walkers.

Later, Airon learned that Morgan tried to look for him but the walkers and the wars near the hospital couldn't give him the chance to do it in depth. After that, he did not dare to contact the base due to the fact that he did not have the words to tell them everything that had happened.

If they found out that Airon was possibly dead, the S.C.T. the community would come to this place with the highest level of combat they could afford and kill every living being along with the dead until they found out who had caused all this.

It is just that fortunately he met Airon and was able to endure enough time to think about what to say to the base so as not to give wrong information.

After listening to Airon and Morgan's conversation, Alicia vaguely imagined what would happen next. From their words, once they contacted their base, enough help would arrive for all the civilians to be sent to Atlanta and the force needed to wipe out all the bad communities in this place.

It seems that Daniel had a lot more information from the Vultures and the nearby communities that would help them to know the location of the community that attacked Airon and his people, who killed Billy along with several other soldiers.

Just after the three learned of the others' experiences, the car had already driven to a small camp.

At the entrance to the camp, bright headlights were installed and there were some light guards on the gate. At this point, a member of the camp raised his head to see who it was.

Seeing this, Daniel poked his head out in a timely manner, spoke to the guards several times and then let them pass without firing a shot at them.

After entering the inside of the camp, Airon couldn't help but look at the surrounding situation.

There were not many people in this camp, at most no more than fifty and most of them were survivors and most of them were armed. Judging by their attire, they should all be escaping from the nearby area where Airon and his group had the accident.

As they got out of the car, the two unfamiliar faces of Airon and Alicia naturally attracted the attention of the surrounding camp members.

After explaining to the surroundings, Daniel took the two of them to find a temporary home and brought them some dried meat.

"What are you doing in this temporary camp?" Upon entering the house, Airon sat down on crutches, looked at the dusty house and said.

Daniel, who came in right behind, was surprised for a moment to hear this and replied without dissimulation, "I know what you are thinking and it is correct, we will die if we stay in this place. But by Morgan's words, your community could take in all these sorrows, is that right?"

"That is correct."

Alicia looked at Airon and was silent. Even she had doubts if really your community was that strong and had absolute control of the power within. She had been in many communities and the most common problems were the ones that ended those safe places.

"Right now I'll get in touch with my people!"

Saying this, Morgan walked over with a satellite radio and handed it to Airon without saying a word.
