Chapter 139 - The Wolves

"¿W?"

The group next to Airon looked at Ravi with a somewhat confused expression, some didn't quite understand what he was referring to.

Ravi nodded as he listened to the doubts of the others, he waved his hand while pointing to his forehead and explained, "Right in this place, the letter W was marked as if it had been done with a knife. When we found our lost companions, they all had that mark on their foreheads and apparently they were badly beaten before they even died. What we all thought was that they were assaulted by bandits, a bad group of people attacked them but fortunately also one of them died."

Michonne hearing this couldn't help but ask, "You said someone else who wasn't in the group died, how could your people do that without them being able to escape?"

Hearing this question, Ravi shook his head and pointed out, "We don't have many weapons and of the few we have only one of the group that goes out for resources comes out armed. I guess the person carrying the weapon put up resistance and managed to kill one of those who attacked the group."

After hearing what Ravi said, everyone was a bit silent. It is not known which group these mysterious people belong to and how many people there are, which generated unfamiliar thoughts for them.

"A signature..." Daryl muttered in a hoarse voice.

"A signature?" Glenn asked in confusion.

"If all corpses and walkers have a W on their forehead, that means they leave that mark on both their allies and victims." After thinking about it, Daryl said directly.

"Well, nowadays it's not good at all to meet that group of lunatics..." Airon was not surprised to hear these details, it was obvious who in the vicinity leaves a W on their victims.

Yes, the famous group of The Wolves! This rampant group of people who kill anyone they meet and today apparently have already lost their humanity, they are characterized by killing people and their motto is Wolves No Far, who were the ones who caused the destruction of this shelter.

It was known that they attacked those who crossed their path, they believe that the first people descended from wolves, the members of this group interpreted the advent of the living dead as a sign of the return of things to their natural state.

Much further in the future they were the same ones who attacked the Alexandria shelter, where many of them died as well as killed. And much earlier, they were the ones who destroyed this shelter where they were now. This can be seen in the original artwork, where you can see their signatures.

And when they fled this community after Tyreese was bitten, they encountered a walker with a W mark on his forehead, which was obvious who had done all that to Noah's shelter.

As for the timing of the attack, Airon didn't know about that, right now the cold was coming, the walkers would freeze becoming harmless outside, so Airon didn't know. It is true that now they had come in contact with that group, so now the group of Wolves could appear at any time making this place a dangerous place.

Although Airon really wants to wipe out the wolves immediately, these people had no fixed place where they live for now, so it is difficult to locate them, now the best way he can think of is to leave with these people from this place.

But there was a small detail that he had to take into account, Airon was not sure what the people in this place thought, so first it is better to find out before even talking, but one thing is for sure, if the wolves attack this shelter, all these people will die.

Thinking about this, Airon was not to waste time and after making eye contact with Daryl, they both came to an agreement and Airon ordered Merle to drive the vehicles into the interior of this shelter.

The modified RV soon drove slowly into the settlement. In this way, they could protect this place for now with more security and would no longer expose their people who remained outside. During these days they also found a bus type truck where they could store things in much more quantity after removing the back seats.

After Airon took care of the security problem, Noah finally brought his siblings and mother to the square and they gathered together with Ravi.

"Hello, Mr. Airon! I'm Noah's mother, thank you for taking the trouble to save my son and bring him to this place." Noah's mom said with slitted eyes, it was obvious that this family's reunion had been amazing.

Noah's mom hugged Airon and they expressed their gratitude, the youngest children were the younger siblings and they looked at him from afar, "Airon, how many people will stay protecting this place for the night?"

After watching the armed people walk around the shelter, Ravi couldn't help but ask with a dubious expression. When Airon turned around, he casually replied; "My people and I will split into two groups, both of us will work two shifts in security."

"It takes that many people?" Ravi was a little surprised.

"That many?"

When Airon heard this question he couldn't help but be surprised. It was no wonder this place was destroyed. From what he had seen this place wasn't much stronger or weaker than Alexandria, but these people couldn't withstand an attack from the wolves so he said, "There are some spots in this place that need to be repaired, I want the braziers to have fire and wood so they can be lit all night."

Ravi and Noah's family smiled slightly, though this soldier was very cautious. They have been living here for a long time and the surveillance is no more than two people. They had never had a problem before, but Airon was only thinking of everyone's safety. Out of respect for his decisions, no one can say much in the face of this.

After security was arranged, Airon's group began to pregame dinner. Airon had planned to stay in this place as a foothold, but the wolves were too much of a problem to consider such plans. What was left, would be to talk to Ravi about evacuation and try to do it as soon as possible if he did not want to have unnecessary losses.

That night, the security personnel organized by Airon were already in place and toured the community. After discussing it together with Daryl, they all came to understand the big problem this place was having so they were well prepared.

At that very moment, Ravi called the rest of the survivors of the settlement and they gathered in a small church in the community. After talking with Airon, he planned to discuss some things with everyone in this shelter.

Seeing all the familiar faces that had gathered, Ravi sighed with many feelings stuck in his chest, he loves this place as all these people do and if it wasn't for what they are going through now, he didn't want to discuss this matter.

But now he knew they had a better chance, a more secure and stable future next to the people who came along with Noah.

"There is an important topic to call everyone in this place. I think everyone knows that the food stocks after the last group didn't return are running out fast. In a few more days the food will be running low without anything we can do. Our best foragers are no longer with us, so right now we only have reserves for about three to four more days of food."

When everyone heard that, they were not at all surprised, they knew it very well and there was no need for Ravi Kapoor to tell them.  One man stood up and said, "Ravi, we all live together and we know that. We know that's not why you gathered us so hurriedly, if I'm not mistaken it should be related to that group that came, right?"

Ravi nodded without denying it. He didn't want to lie to anyone, now that someone mentioned it, he will speak directly about it, "You are right my friend, everyone should know that Noah was rescued by those military men and they took care of him until he came back home. Both he and I can guarantee that those soldiers are not bad people. So we were offered an opportunity to follow them as they head towards another much larger and safer settlement. If we pass up this opportunity, there won't be an equal one next time, what do you guys think?"

After Ravi finished speaking, people began to make noise. More than a dozen people had their own ideas. After gathering at this time, no one could convince anyone that their thoughts are the right ones.

Ravi walked into the crowd and listened to them. After a while, there were many opinions all different from each other. The first opinion is that Noah is too young to judge people and cannot easily trust these military men.

Others thought that leaving with them was the right thing to do, this group did not seem to be bad people.

The third type are those who don't want to leave at all, there are very few people who have these thoughts, but their positions are extremely firm.

Seeing that the scene was at a stalemate, Ravi had no choice but to stop everyone and analyze it again.

"Listen to me, I have had contact with Airon and I hear they have a large shelter in Atlanta. Of course, I agree to pursue it but those are just my thoughts. Secondly, we must consider that they have weapons and they are experienced soldiers, their large shelters range in the thousands."

"If they have such a large shelter why aren't you with them?"

"Yes, that is true."

"Something doesn't make sense."

Ravi looked at the crowd and knew he had lost control. Just as he was about to sort it out, he heard a bang outside the church coming from the door.
