Woodbury Town.
Michonne and Janet, who were brought to this town by the Governor's people, were eating with the Governor and Milton. Michonne looked at the food on the table, feeling even more uncomfortable.
The Governor was helping people warm up the food, but still said in an apologetic tone, "I'm so sorry, I don't have anything good to lighten the mood."
Janet quickly waved her hand, pointed to the food on the table in front of her and said, "This is already great! It's been a long time since we've had a good meal, we thank you so much for your hospitality."
Michonne, however, said nothing and decided to remain silent. The food on the table was basically packaged food. According to the Governor's words, they had been living in Woodbury for at least several months.
Michonne, who ate in silence, felt that only eating gathered food would not last them long in this place, which made her think in turn that this shelter had no food system of its own.
Today it has been more than a year since the end of the world began, but by continuing to depend on the food collected from the city without building a system of its own, this type of camps or shelters will sooner or later disappear, but if these camps are still standing they would be complete looters.
Now, Michonne believed that the people in Woodbury might have become looters, these people might now be monsters looting other smaller groups of survivors.
During the meal, Milton asked several questions about the two walkers who were like pets, but Michonne didn't explain much, just glanced from time to time at this man.
Anyone who has known the story knows that the two walkers were close to Michonne, one is her boyfriend and the other is a close friend of his, so this is the last question he wants to answer honestly.
Seeing that Michonne was not very interested in chatting, Milton finally shut his mouth obediently.
After a hurried meal, the two women asked to grab their guns and get out of here.
Michonne and Janet originally thought the man called the Governor would deny them the exit, but they didn't expect the other party to happily agree without any trouble.
"Okay then, get ready and we'll give you your weapons on the way out. If you need other weapons or vehicles, you can ask for them and we will find something suitable for you." The Governor told the two women with a relaxed expression.
Neither Michonne nor Janet wanted to ask the Governor for anything when they saw him being so kind, they refused his kindness and the two women simply took their weapons they had come with and planned to leave as soon as possible.
At the door, the Governor once again persuaded, "I still think you two had better not leave this place. I don't need to mention to you how dangerous it is out there. Although our conditions are limited, it's easy to survive together."
Michonne, who had been silent all this time, finally spoke up before leaving, "Thank you for your kindness, but we'd rather try our luck outside, I'm not used to the life living in this place!"
After saying that, she didn't want to explain more, in the original story she didn't even talk much to Andrea before leaving, only at the end, much later Andrea approached her and told her that the Governor was about to attack, but even in that situation the patience Michonne had was something to admire.
Seeing this, the Governor finally had nothing to say, and spread his hands helplessly. In his mind, he had already labeled these two people as dead. But his face regained its indifferent expression.
As they approached the door, Martinez stopped the two women by avoiding their path. Seeing this, Michonne thought that the people of this place had repented, for which she turned her head to look at the Governor behind her, but she looked at him waving her hand towards the city wall and then some gunshots were heard from above, followed by some dry heaves falling on the other side of the gate.
At that moment, the Governor gestured to the two on top of the wall, and someone quickly moved to open the gate without hesitation, when they came out, the Governor gestured while touching his neck towards Martinez.
Martinez understood, nodded and walked toward town.
In the woods outside the town of Woodbury, Michonne and Janet were changing as they discussed everything they had experienced inside that place.
"If I'm being honest with you, I think it's the wrong decision for us to leave that place. Isn't life inside that town kind of good? I think the people inside that shelter are pretty good."
After pausing, Janet showed a regretful face and voiced her thoughts that had been running through her mind since they left that shelter and pointed out, "I know the Governor has problems, but who cares about that stuff if he's a good leader?"
Michonne scoffed and explained to Janet, who was still fantasizing about a much better life in this hellhole, "Let me tell you there is definitely a serious problem with that place, if we stay there we will definitely regret it, looking at their situation in just a matter of time for that place to be sustainable."
Janet still didn't give up and said, "What's the problem there? I just think the governor seems to be abnormal, but I think the other residents of the city are just ordinary people."
Shaking her head, Michonne didn't want to explain too much. After all, what she considered at the time was just her own guess, so she simply said, "Maybe not everyone, but I know those people are bad."
By simply ignoring the events going on inside that shelter, immersing herself in that feeling of normalcy when there's clearly something else going on, was something she couldn't explain with words alone. So Michonne stopped talking, just picked up the pace and continued to eliminate the walkers around her.
After some time, Michonne said, "Let's go faster, I suspect the governor will send someone to hurt us."
Not long after she finished speaking, Martinez had already led several people to catch up in the woods behind them. Michonne and Janet walked forward and finally emerged from the woods. Just as they hesitated which way to go, they heard the sound of a gunshot behind them.
"Bang!"
Michonne reacted very fast, after hearing the gunshots, she immediately lay down on the grass, making the opponent miss his target, however, seeing Janet motionless on the grass beside her, Michonne realized that something was wrong, she crawled to Janet's side not far away.
When she reached Janet's side, she was horrified to discover why Janet had fallen to the ground, her abdomen right now was stained bright red, her clothes and back soon started with blood. After a few more seconds, Janet spat out a mouthful of blood.
Michonne's mind went blank, she shakily grabbed Janet's arm and shouted in a voice that cracked, "Janet! Hold on please!"
However, Janet just looked at Michonne's face and said nothing, honestly she didn't want to keep fighting for her life one more time at this point and the blood was still pouring out of her mouth before she lost her life.
By this time, Martinez and the others behind her had already caught up with them.
Michonne and Janet have been together for over half a year, staying together every day, caring for and supporting each other.
Seeing Janet spitting blood, Michonne also panicked and tears welled up, she touched Janet's body in vain, trying to help her stop the bleeding, but what she got in return was more blood.
As Michonne tried in vain to save her friend, a group of people surrounded her, led by Martinez and Crowley.
Sensing a figure crossing the ground in front of her, the sadness in Michonne's heart instantly turned to anger, and she reached out to pull the sword behind her back, but discovered that the back of her head someone was already pointing a gun at her.
She wanted to stand up and resist regardless, but she felt a sharp blow to her head and fell to the ground.
At that moment, Martinez hurried to step forward and took the sword from Michonne who at that moment lay motionless on the ground. The look on her face was fixed on Janet, who at this point had already asked for her life.
Martinez winked at the others, then walked over to the two women on the ground, looked at Michonne who was stunned looking at Janet who had lost her life.
However, the rest of the people didn't have time to take her feelings into account, Martinez picked up the gun Janet had dropped on the ground, turned around and they all walked into the woods.
"Michonne, that's your name right? I'm so sorry, but we're also following orders to survive." Martinez apologized as he saw Michonne in that state. He better than anyone knew what it felt like to lose loved ones, which he wished on no one, but he couldn't afford to fail.
