It had been a long time since Airon left the prison which was currently still under renovation, but the achievements so far were unimaginable.
At this rate, five months have passed since he left the prison. If Airon follows the important events in the main story, at least in another month the events of the third season would begin.
Right now, on the streets of some part of the city of Atlanta that had been extremely deserted until a few months ago, it is very lively with many people trying to get close to a chain link fence that was being guarded by at least a dozen military men.
All of the military men had a bandana on their right arm with two bright lines and syllables S.C.T. embroidered above the two lines. They all maintained a calm expression, as if what they were doing was no big deal.
Just a few months ago on the streets of Atlanta it was rare to see one or two people. But with the recent creation of a shelter and large-scale cleanups of walkers, many people and small groups of survivors began to approach this part of the city in search of asylum.
They all wanted to survive and at least look for a person to lead them well, someone with little ambition or intelligence is not promising in the future. Now that the possibilities have opened up in this place, everyone wants to be part of this group.
With the migration of survivors to this ever-expanding shelter, there were now at least eight hundred survivors in this part of the city, all of whom had to wait a long time before they were accepted.
"Attention, all survivors who want to enter this shelter, don't forget to bring your belongings, line up in order and wait your turn, all will be checked for infections, your weapons will be removed for everyone's safety, take care of your identification scarf and don't cause trouble!"
In a large street that was sealed off by wire fences, there was a line of at least about forty survivors, all had an anxious expression on their faces expressing their distrust, and soldiers were standing to one side heavily armed. Not far away, the large line of survivors slowly approached.
In the area outside the street, the military trucks lined up neatly, and the troops escorting the civilians also gathered there, positioned themselves and quickly formed a square formation, listening to the words of the officer in front of them.
"Everyone will have water, food, clothing and a warm bed! You must understand that the situation is very bad, but once you are a member of this shelter the general situation of the world will be explained to you in detail! Former soldiers, nurses, doctors or people who have done their military service will be asked for their strength to maintain the general safety of this place."
The first batch of survivors to join the S.T.C.'s Atlanta shelter was not very large, only less than a hundred people. Under the arrangement of a dozen soldiers, these people were slowly trying to get into the shelter area one by one and all were arranged in order, and then in the three rows they were given a short interview where they could get to know the person better.
The questions varied from one to another, for example: What is your specialty? Age? How many walkers have you eliminated so far? Have you killed people? Why?
Each of these questions was essential in the beginning, but everyone knew that due to limited time, you couldn't get a clear idea of what kind of people enter the shelter. So, there were two areas in the shelter, the first is where only new people enter and people are kept under observation, the second place is where food, weapons and clear ranks are stored.
At this moment, a young man stood in front of the soldier with a somewhat nervous expression, so the soldier giving a small inspection did not take long to come to his side.
The soldier standing in front of this person, looked at him briefly and said, "Welcome, what is your name friend?"
"I am... I'm Isaac sir, is this place actually safe like they say on the radio?" Isaac expressed his insecurities, soldiers nowadays were rare to see so he was a bit confused.
"Don't worry, this place is very safe for all the people who want to join our community, we have resources and the right personnel to protect you all."
Hearing the insecurities of many people, the soldier understood what everyone was thinking and responded kindly to everyone without exception. Although it is rare to find such large groups of survivors, it is a good thing to take the initiative to create a new group of survivors.
Looking at the other people still in line, the soldier checked Isaac's body and movements in front of him a bit and nodded, "Good, follow all the procedures and you will be accepted without much trouble in this community."
Hearing those words, Issac nodded his head and continued walking inside the chain link fence. When he reached the gate, Issac waited a few moments and stepped inside. With a curious look, Isaac observed the numerous soldiers with guns inside and the huge trucks dragging the cars left on the street.
There were men with helmets and green vests, all seemed to be working in an orderly fashion while others kept moving from one side to the other. In the distance, you could see a lonely, empty street, but people were coming in and out of the buildings.
Just as he was about to take a closer look, a voice sounded from beside him, snapping him out of his thoughts and directing his attention to what he was doing. "Please have a seat while we take a blood test and answer some questions!"
"Yes!" Isaac said with a reassuring smile, no corpse or trace of dirt could be seen inside the metal fence, which gave him a great impression and expectations of this place.
After confirming the information, getting the answers to the questions and giving them some words about what not to do in this place, Isaac got a handkerchief with the syllables of the community and the rank of authority he held.
The weapons on his body were removed but that was something Isaac didn't mind, as long as he agrees to become a guard of this place, his authority will rise to the second level and he can obtain weapons for self-defense without any problem.
"Keep walking, don't stop!" A soldier standing not far away watched the people still entering the shelter and they were all led to a truck.
"Okay!"
Taking his backpack with the luggage he had, Isaac climbed into a military truck and after a few more people, the truck started up and drove the people slowly through the clean streets.
The place that was free of walking was truly huge, but for some strange reason these places were not being occupied by people. When the soldier looked at everyone's curiosity, he said, "We are clearing a small part of Atlanta, we must make sure to have a very suitable and large place where walkers cannot enter even if there are hundreds of thousands."
Immediately after saying that, he reached into his vest and pulled out a radio, pressed the button and said, "Mrs. Anna, we are heading to the central support station from the south side to enter thirty more survivors."
"Zz... I understand, we are awaiting your arrival."
From time to time, small groups of military men could be seen on the streets as they supervised the work of some people.
Looking at this, Isaac asked, "Are the buildings sealed?"
The soldier, who was standing next to the survivors, turned his head and nodded, "The buildings that are useless for now, will be sealed once they are cleared."
"What's the effort for?" A woman couldn't help but ask.
"Well, our goal is to have total control of Atlanta, our people are moving all over the city looking for small shelters to bring them to this part of the city." Replied the soldier with a calm look.
"That's amazing..." Isaac nodded with excitement, the amount of soldiers in this place was abnormally large.
...
On top of a building in the city of Atlanta, Airon watched as the streets were sealed off by large wire fences and trucks. But this was not the only thing that was done, a large number of harmless walkers were also placed to keep the others in check.
With this, slowly the influence of their community was getting bigger and more powerful. Tanks, military trucks and weapons stores were being moved to this location, food and building materials were also being moved
By having many architects at this location, a long term plan was planned to have control of the city and be able to contain the threats even if an infection broke out within the safe zone. As planned, three large walls would grow and increasingly cover the city of Atlanta.
So, for now the first wall was being secured, which would be the only one for some time considering the amount of people in this city and the numerous walkers that still remained in the streets.
Numerous tanks, helicopters and armored vehicles were being moved to the shelter under Airon's orders. This whole place was now working together to grow and achieve that dream they all had.
This was difficult to maintain, but during all this time Airon left a big mark in the hearts of all the soldiers that were found by him and his people, many families of those soldiers were in this shelter and others were in the prison.
Unexpectedly, Airon was protecting some relatives, friends, and acquaintances of some soldiers who joined the community.
So the security of this place would not be compromised, and now it was time to start expanding the production of food, weaponry, clothing, medicine and obviously stocks.
Airon knew that even if scientist Candace Janner found a cure for the virus, it would do absolutely no good for the future. Today, with billions of walkers around the world, it would be a dream to be able to restore the world at high speed.
Even if a cure is found in prison, having large-scale doses not only needs resources, but also special facilities that were lost when the CDC exploded. Therefore, considering all those problems led Airon to slowly gain control of Atlanta.
If things are as you remember them, no large community took control of Atlanta in the original story. This would make it much easier for him to develop shelters at strategic points in the city.
With the capabilities now, it is still a dream to have control of an entire city like Atlanta was, but with dedication the key points of this city would slowly be taken over by the Airon community.
"Sir, the time has come to leave for home base!" Elias said as he looked at Airon who was observing everything from the heights.
Hearing this, Airon nodded his head and climbed into a helicopter. Now, although fuel was not easily obtainable, he could afford these quick trips from the central prison to Atlanta.
"It's time to go back!" muttered Airon with a slight smile.
