In the time that followed, Airon personally took over many of the things that were about to unfold in the prison, making the best use of the places within the secure grounds.
After the soldiers and policemen arrived at the prison this morning, they all became prison guards and began to make tours around the place and quickly adapted. As for the ordinary people, some took simple jobs and then would naturally adapt to a job more suited to their skills.
It wasn't until the end of the day, when the surroundings were getting dark that Airon gathered everyone together to celebrate a very unfortunate event.
In a corner of the prison, there was a box in which the corpse of someone rested who, until today, never thought that he would lose his life at the hands of people he did not even know.
Everyone was surprisingly silent around the wooden box, even though they had heard that someone had died, everyone did not really know what had happened except for a few people who preferred to remain silent.
No one asked how long they would be gathered in this place, because everyone knew that something very important and serious was about to happen.
Airon stood in front of everyone and observed the serious looks, some indifferent and others somber. Beth next to Hershel who was crying silently and the occasional person with dark faces.
"You know, now a lot of the friends next to us know that things have changed again..."
As soon as he opened his mouth, Airon expressed his thoughts naturally, everyone looked at him and he decided to continue, "This morning, a group from the prison led by Shane who were originally out looking for supplies, were trapped by a horde of walkers and not only that, the group suffered an attack at the hands of other people."
Frowning expressing his anger, he didn't expect many to understand, but he wanted this day to remain in everyone's mind as a warning of what was to come later and noted, "People have already slowly started to show their true nature, everyone is trying to survive while others are seeking evil."
"This time we suffered an attack, this person who was killed in cold blood was just a young man looking for a quiet place to live. But no one asked him, they were just looking for women, resources and also to kill all the men. of our people."
Hearing Airon's words, Shane stepped forward and said, "It is true, today we were almost killed by people who were looking for what little we had. Richard was injured and now he is resting. Today we were outside the prison, but tomorrow we could receive an attack at the door of our home."
When Airon looked at the heated Shane, he nodded and said, "But that will not make us a gated community, no, we will learn to defend ourselves and not let anyone touch our people. I promise you, we will be ready when someone wants to hurt us."
"Do you still think you are ignorant about the situation? Or else you will be ready to defend our home, what do you feel now?"
Everyone held their breath and someone stepped forward and shouted, "We will be ready to welcome those who want to continue living and assassinate all those who seek to harm us."
"Yes, we will kill our enemies!"
"No one will harm our community!"
"No one will even think of trying to harm our families!"
After saying what needed to be known, Airon said, "Very well, rest all of you tonight and let us work hard on our future my dear friends."
Airon then placed his hand in front of Jimmy's drawer, he felt a strange sensation inside him as he saw more closely how a person close to his circle could die so easily. In this world, even for a small oversight, he could die in the blink of an eye.
...
In a watchtower, Airon sat quietly and next to him was Rick.
While Airon was talking to Rick, Daryl came up with his crossbow. He sat on the side of the tower, then looked at Rick and said, "Is this even a date?"
It had been almost a month since Rick and Daryl had met, since then their relationship grew closer and closer. Unable to be good at communicating with people, Daryl was getting closer as he went along.
So far, Daryl could chat in a closer way. "The night seems quiet, as long as you don't see much movement outside the prison, the walkers won't come close."
"We should work this place hard, it's well protected but we know how terrible a horde of walkers can be." Rick said as he looked over the grounds.
Arion, smiled and remarked, "We also have to watch out for people, if we want to gather more people we must be alert to who enters this prison."
To be honest, after so many experiences, Airon felt more familiar with the people around him.
"Yes, this is just the beginning..." Rick said in a deep voice.
Airon was in a corner while writing some nonsense in a notebook, he thought about some things. Apparently he was among the first days since the beginning of the overall plot, there were many people and things developing naturally around the world.
Crazy enemies, people who do not think about the future of others and only seek to cause trouble and stay on top of power within their respective communities. I had to be aware of the time and act upon it to gain the unique benefits.
Obviously he did not know much about what was happening in different places, but he knew he had to advance as much as he could his movements and leave this place well fortified to at least have a center of operations.
After finishing writing, Airon turned the page and began to make a brief plan to make this community more than just people trying to survive.
"Operation Cobalt..." Airon muttered under his breath.
"Cobalt?" Daryl turned to Airon and his eyes became shrewd.
"Oh, operation cobalt was issued by the military, according to many soldiers who came to the prison they were ordered to kill all people whether infected or not, but very few were able to comply with such dark orders."
"They said so themselves?" Rick asked, still not believing that such an order could be issued.
"Yes, I remember at the hospital you were in the military were killing people equally. It was unfortunate, but did that do any good?"
"The world went to shit, even the government couldn't do anything, haha." Daryl scoffed in a hoarse voice.
"From now on we should be careful when we go out, it's better to ask three questions than to be ambushed by the enemy."
With nothing more to say, they all went to rest leaving security to Sam Valdez, who had rested very early due to not sleeping while guarding the horde of walkers from approaching the prison.
"Keep moving forward... Huh?"
