After some explanations from everyone, Daryl finally understood the current situation at the camp, he hadn't expected that he had only been gone for two days and the place had changed so much.
After finding a deer in the bushes, Daryl chased after it and now learned that the deer he had been chasing was next to a dead walker.
Now that he was in control of his anger, he couldn't help but explode when he saw what happened to his prey. Airon watched as he stepped forward and began kicking it at the walker fiercely over and over again, cursing every now and then as if he was venting.
"You dirty, filthy, disgusting thing, how could you eat my deer, you son of a bitch!"
"He's dead!" Dale grabbed Daryl Dixon trying to calm him down.
Daryl shook Dale's hand and roared angrily, "What do you know, old man! Huh? Do you know how long it took me to chase this deer?"
After he spoke, he was still puzzled and kicked the walking carcass a few more times. Suddenly, Daryl thought of something and pointed to the bitten spot on the deer with a questioning tone.
"Do you think it's okay for us to cut this place up and then eat the rest?"
Although Daryl yelled at Dale, he, being a good guy, didn't take it seriously and still responded to Daryl.
"It's no good taking that risk, so forget it!"
Daryl only showed a regretful expression when he heard Airon's voice behind him.
"Well, considering the bite time it wouldn't be bad to eat it, if we discard half of the body it might be edible."
Airon understood that the virus in this world is lethal, he didn't know if a cure could be achieved in the future, but if the most affected part is discarded and if the meat is cooked well, everyone could eat that meat without getting infected.
When Drryl heard Airon's words, the anger in his chest erupted again and he thought his words were full of mockery.
"You said it's okay to eat the meat?"
"He said it's okay because he knows more than us and he's more related to the virus, he's from the CDC."
"He knows that since he takes care of the scientists still looking for a cure." Rick said suddenly after thinking it through.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Rick Grimes."
"Rick Grimes, are you the new neighborhood cop?" looking at Rick in the county police uniform, Daryl scoffed.
"I'm just a friendly county officer."
"Bro, are you back?" Merle's gruff voice sounded, and he also heard movement and moved closer.
"Merle! Why are there so many strange fellows in camp?" Come on, I caught some squirrels, help me clean them up." Ignoring the deer on the ground, Daryl walked over to Merle and showed him their kills as they walked through the camp.
Merle looked at Airon and said, "I'll talk to him."
...
Because of this accident, the atmosphere in the camp was a bit tense, everyone discussed it and decided they wanted to stay one more night, but Airon dismissed those words.
Airon didn't want to waste any more time in this place when he had things to resolve at the CDC, so he suggested that everyone calm down and when they were ready everyone would leave this place.
Airon climbed into his RV and looked at George listening to tunes, he smiled and greeted, "How are you feeling, is everything ok?"
"Howdy boss, everything's great, seems like it's hard dealing with the new survivors right?" Geroge heard all the drama a moment ago.
"There are some tough guys in this camp, they might come in handy later on." Airon shook his head.
Hearing that they were about to leave, everyone began to prepare. They understood that Airon had his own difficulties and couldn't stay more than a day away from his shelter.
After making preparations for almost an hour, everyone was resting while preparing the squirrels. This would be his last night in this place, so he was talking about what was experienced in this place.
While everyone was chatting, Airon and Shane were talking away from the group, this time they were about to retire to the CDC and Airon wanted to make some things clear to Shane.
"The place I have has several rules, are there some unstable people in the place? You know, you've known these people longer, so I want to know what you think."
Hearing Airon's words, Shane knew what he wanted to know, to tell the truth he had the same problems taking care of this place without knowing anyone.
"They are all relatively quiet, if you have to point out any one that would be Merle and Ed Peletier, but if they both decide to respect the rules there won't be any problems." Shane looked off into the distance and asked, "How many people are in your shelter?"
After some thought, Airon finally answered, "Well, right now I don't know, there could easily be a hundred people with us."
"So, as long as the place is so big we must create new shelters, we will need to expand for the sake of the future." Airon Darcy added with a thoughtful expression. He knew that the CDC was not a definitive place, so he had to think a lot more than anyone else.
"Well, we'll do it later, I have a few things to figure out for now." Shane nodded as he backed out of Airon's RV.
Hearing those words, Airon was silent, he knew Shane could be very useful to him in the future, so he decided to consider him in his bigger plans.
"I don't like this place, we should go back as soon as possible." George Burcea added with a calm look.
Airon looked at George and nodded, if he remembered correctly this place would suffer a walker attack and that was something he wanted to avoid, many could get hurt.
After a few more hours, Airon walked over and said, "Okay, right now we are about to leave for the CDC, everyone will undergo a blood test to know they are not infected by the virus, once they undergo that test they can have food, water, bed and they will be safe."
"There is a long way to go, everyone let's keep going and don't get sidetracked from the path." Airon looked at everyone and prepared to start his journey to the CDC.
He had spent a lot of time outside and needed to know how his shelter was doing, there were new refugees that needed to be taken care of so he needed to get back as soon as possible.
"Everyone needs a lot to learn, but you can always learn slowly and it's not like we're in a hurry."
Airon knew that he didn't need idiots like Ed and if they caused him trouble, he wouldn't hesitate to act to erase the stones in his path.
It could be said that this trip had good fruits, now he had obtained reliable people so now he had to think about expanding his territory.
He needed to grow his influence and control all those people. He also had to let everyone know that they weren't exactly military, they didn't work for the country and didn't owe anyone anything.
Airon was about to announce that this was not about the government, and if they all want to eat and drink their fill, they need to work very hard to keep getting those cushy benefits.
By now he had already identified good leaders who would issue his orders to the letter, there was Shane, Guillermo, Merle and also Rick, all were men with an air of leadership, so Airon already had his new captains ready to grow his power.
"Remember everyone is welcome, don't feel uncomfortable and let's enjoy ourselves while we can, in this world there's no telling when we'll become one of those walkers."
