Teddy walked to the window and watched as his cult members were gathered in the middle of an open space, they all had fearful expressions and their future at least for them was uncertain.
When Airon thought about what to do, the same question always arose in his mind, are they the good guys or the bad guys? For some people this is a quick answer, but for Airon it has two very important angles.
If he seeks to lead, he must know that to do so, people must fear him so much that they will not hesitate to follow him. Humans are strange creatures, today there is only one type of person in the world and they are those who want to survive.
Airon was not one of the bad guys, he was simply surviving just as the Vultures did, but in the future everyone must understand that his people are not to be touched, absolutely none of his people are to be touched in the slightest. For those left alive, at least from their enemies this is a very clear idea.
"Will you give me that key?"
This simple question broke the silence in the room, making everyone wonder what the answer of this very calm old man would be. But the answer was not long in coming, Teddy reached into his jacket and pulled out a key of exactly the same appearance as Airon carried it.
"I'd like to let you see the world I'm going to build, if I ever plan to have children, I want that world dreamed of by all living beings in recent times to be cherished by all."
Airon put the key away, sighed lightly and said, "No one values what they have, it may be a rotation said by many philosophers but it is more than the truth. Now everyone can work twelve hours just having food on their plate, can you believe this?"
"You have a hard dream to live up to..." Teddy shook his head in disapproval. I rejected Airon's way of thinking and said, "You are very stubborn and think you will always win, and believe me your defeat is closer than ever. If you killed hundreds of people for just a few deaths of your group, I don't want to imagine what kind of leader you are."
"Maybe the leader these people need, I'm just a good survivor and what I think we all need I do without hesitation.... I'm aware of the dangers in this world, I don't deny it and I know it's dangerous to act this way at any time."
"But if I ever lose, you will not see my defeat..."
Airon pointed to the door of the room and Teddy walked without saying anything, he knew that his end had come and he didn't regret anda at all. But he did feel frustrated, bitter about tasting honey lightly with his tongue only to have someone suddenly come in and steal everything that was his.
...
Outside the mall.
Airon followed several members of his group and walked to the outside where all the survivors of this place had been gathered, among whom were children, old people, men and women who were crying.
After seeing the situation, he nodded in response towards Sam and then pointed to an open spot and said, "I want Teddy to stand in that position, on his knees of course."
When Airon's words were finished, two soldiers grabbed Teddy by his arms and dragged him towards the spot he had pointed out, then hit him in the knees and he fell to the ground.
Everyone watched this in silence, no one spoke because now it would be decided what would be done with all these people. And Airon, after looking at Sam, said, "First of all my condolences for your losses, there was really no other possibility to achieve my goals if not this way."
"My name is Airon, leader of a huge organization called S.C.T. that operates primarily in Atlanta, Georgia and Washington.... From the beginning of the outbreak, I strived to safeguard the safety of people to the best of my ability. Months and months of hard work by my people achieved a stability that is unique today."
"Thousands of people depend on our decisions, and our only purpose for coming to Texas is because we received a sign of help from survivors on a military base. But as you have learned, the walkers are evolving in unpredictable ways..... Stronger, faster and much more aggressive..."
After saying that, Airon sighed and then said, "We mean it when we tell you that we are fighting for a new future, and that future we seek is not by killing the living, but the dead. That is why I will give you a chance, those who want to continue living must remain on that side."
Pointing to the place where the survivors were gathered, Airon said, "But if they think I'm a damn demon and not following orders, they can follow Teddy and die a glorious death alongside their leader."
"You'll kill us anyway..."
At that moment, a voice came from the crowd which caught Airon's attention and said, "You may be right or you may not be right, who will know that in the future? I am a man of my word, all of us don't want to kill you so make a decision now."
At that moment, Sam walked to his side and said, "Shane took care of eliminating the cannibal base completely, right now they are taking their weapons and food. On the other hand, Morgan eliminated those who showed resistance and saved the children and those who didn't want to fight."
Looking at Sam who was briefing him on what had happened, Airon nodded silently and couldn't help but think that it was a good result within all that was bad, and no wonder Morgan's leadership is so bloodless.
In order to eliminate all the cult members, his group of the two hundred that arrived were split into three different groups and right now they had all accomplished their goals.
"It looks like they've made a decision..." Airon looked at the people who had walked towards Teddy and nodded, at least one hundred and seventy people decided to live, on the other hand about thirty sought their death.
"They're fucking nuts, they don't have a clue." Sam muttered in a deep voice.
"Kill the old ones and leave the young ones, they will serve as experimental humans for the vaccines in our research center. At least they'd be of some use, we don't need to be delayed any longer in this place."
"Yes, boss!"
Sam nodded and signaled as he spoke aloud what was about to be done. Then sounds of gunfire and shouting rang out behind Airon.
At the entrance to the shelter, a series of armored cars approached and the snipers along with the other people in their group had arrived. Daryl was leading the group and after seeing the numerous dead bodies on the ground everyone felt uneasy.
"We can go back now Daryl!"
"Yeah, we always win..."
