"Captain, this is the data that was hidden in the office of the leader of this settlement!"
Just after Airon finished dealing with the survivors having trouble wanting to stay alive, Ian Dietrich also came out of one of the buildings, holding a blood-colored bag in his hand and handed it to him with a smile.
After taking the bag, Airon looked down and found that there were only some firearms and some medicine inside, and nothing particularly unusual so he asked, "Is there anything else?"
"This letter sir, it looks like it wasn't opened so I hope it has something important in it." Ian said as he pulled a letter out of his pocket and handed it to Airon.
Then Ian turned to the side and looked at the original buildings of this place and the surrounding things and said, "I guess this really was a guarding place of that cult they mentioned, at least the prisoners said something that was true. The stupid thing was that those people who attacked us went back to their shelter and if not, it would be hard to find this place."
"Okay..." Seeing that there was really nothing left but a letter, Airon didn't bother much more about this. Actually, it was a good thing that this was completed faster than expected, only now they were waiting for news from Shane's group who would also attack another safehouse of this same organization.
While Airon was reading the letter, Lee, Kenny, Carley and others who were in the basement cell also helped their wounded comrades, and came out one after another.
Seeing those who came out, Airon, who kept a grim expression, returned the bag to Ian and put the letter in his bag before saying, "Make sure those people are healed, especially a man named Dung."
"Okay, commander!"
Seeing this, Ian was a little surprised to learn that Airon wanted to save these people who would obviously be disabled, but he didn't share his thoughts and walked over, placed the injured people with the help of the others in a clean place and bent down to heal those wounds.
Directing his gaze to the wall of a building, where there was the same sentence as the title of the letter, 'The end is the beginning' and a drawing of what appeared to be an elongated tube that Airon could intuit was a cylinder or submarine. When he learned of this, read the title sentence once more and remembered that he had taken it from a cult, he knew more or less what it was about.
Although this cult seems not to mind relating to bloodthirsty groups like the Vultures or Cannibals, this group that tortured dozens of people, and the survivors killed by them are pitiful, but for what purpose did they torture the survivors like that?
After analyzing all the information, intuiting what was the purpose of the cult where their prayer is 'The end is the beginning', seeing the submarine drawn with some words under the letter that said about some coordinates and an encrypted message that only a member of this organization would know how to decipher, Airon knew that they were missing something and the survivors inside the basement of this place were important.
Though he had a vague idea about what this meant, Dung also seemed well informed when he said that those lunatics, people from this place, wanted to destroy the world. Airon opened his eyes and looked at Sam who was approaching and said, "These people apparently have a sinister idea to wipe out all the walkers and us with them, search the whole place and look for a key that can open something like this."
Sam, who saw the drawing, opened his eyes wide and a sinister idea was drawn in his mind, so he said, "We are not leaving this place until we find the key."
After Ian and Sam nodded in response, they led the dozens of people towards the building where the basement cell was located.
"One key to destroy everything..."
After they took the injured crowd away to another location, Airon turned his head and found Lee, who was paying attention to the safety of his companions, took a step forward, patted him on the shoulder and said, "Come with me, I have something to tell you."
After he finished speaking, without waiting for the other party to respond, he turned and walked to a relatively empty spot.
Lee Everett looked at the back of Airon leaving, and then turned to look at Carley who was taking care of Dung, it seemed that it was important to talk to this man, so after talking to everyone he turned and followed Airon.
After waiting for the location, Airon happened to find a raised stone from a fallen building structure and sat down. He looked at the old man named Kenny, who was following Lee, but he didn't care. He looked around and said, "Find a comfortable place to sit, you might as well stand."
"You called me here, what's going on?"
Seeing Airon with a happy face, Lee frowned, now that the life or death of his companions was uncertain, he really wasn't in the mood to chat with him here, so he got straight to the point.
Seeing that the other party was so unopened, Airon couldn't help but twist the corners of his mouth, but still said, "I'm here to tell you three things. The first is that your group is very important and apparently they are hiding a key, this key is the meaning of your companions being almost dead."
"A key?" Hearing this, Lee shook his head and pointed out, "Are you playing with us? For a key they killed most of our group and tortured others that way, who the hell is looking for a key nowadays?"
"What if that key unlocks the possibility of obtaining nuclear warheads?"
Knowing that the other side would have this reaction, Airon continued, "I'm not here to steal resources, this group with the sentence 'The end is the beginning', used a group of survivors as hunting dogs and they attacked a helicopter from my organization. The plan was to kill them all and not cause more trouble, but now the problem has escalated to superhuman levels."
Lee looked at Airon, trying to see traces of a lie on the other's face, but he knew the other party had no reason to lie to them. Thinking of his friends, who died tragically in the cell, he clenched his fists tightly, as if he was about to punch someone.
"Son of a bitch!"
Airon was surprised to hear a girl's voice and soon saw a girl hiding in a wall. This girl came with Lee's group so he didn't pay attention to her until now. "Now that's new, I've never been called like that before."
"Clementine, don't say anything!" Said Lee who was thinking about what Airon had shared with him.
Noticing Clementine's performance, Airon looked at her with great interest. He found that this little girl seemed to be very different. Not only did she shoot well with an arc, but she also knew how to contain her movements so she wouldn't get caught. Things got to his head, and he thought she might be just as good or even better than Carl as a child. Although still a bit immature now, she could become a good tool for the future of his organization.
After seeing that they had both calmed down, he continued, "Don't get me wrong, I just want to know if you know anything about that damn key that could fry our asses without us even realizing it, you know what that means? Although I have a lot of places to get information from, I want to know if you would know anything about it. But looking at things, you don't seem to understand what I'm telling you."
"We don't know, Dung's group was heading towards the military base south of our place to see if they were still taking in survivors, but from what we saw in that cell a lot of things could have happened." Kenny said with a complicated look.
"Yeah, that's what you're thinking now."
Seeing what the other party was thinking at a glance, Airon showed an indifferent expression and said, "We have no complaints with these people, we usually help those who want to survive and kill the rest who cause us trouble, but this is something bigger where I need to act with extreme care."
"Do you have a shelter nearby?" Kenny was interested in this man's words and it really doesn't matter that he killed all these evil people. .
Airon hearing that question, looked at Kenny and nodded, "We took the military base, I should introduce myself properly, I am Airon, former military and leader of a shelter for thousands of people. Now, seeing the nature of the problem, I should consult information until your friend wakes up."
Saying this, Airon took the radio and reported, "Sam, let's not waste any more time and go back, we need to get the information out of the prisoners as soon as possible."
"Understood sir!"
