Chapter 145 - The station (4)

"Roar!"

Roars echoed on the road ahead where the man from the wolf group had escaped, and dozens of walkers moved towards the bloodied figure halfway down the road, approaching from all sides.

When there are too many people, loud noises, sounds of gunfire or shouting, some walkers will emerge from the surrounding area and head toward the source of the sound without stopping.

Jon, who had been following the man's tracks for a few minutes, came out of a corner where there were traces of blood and, as he walked toward a building, pulled the assault rifle to the side of his body, pulled the bolt and aimed forward as he walked up the stairs.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A series of bullets shot out of the chamber and easily shattered the glass on the side of a door, then a few more bullets hit the heads of some walkers.

Some of the bullets went into their legs and those who couldn't stand up fell to the ground, knocking down other walkers behind them.

Seeing this, Jon ran forward a few steps, and before the walkers rolled on the ground, he reached the entrance of a door where there were traces of blood.

Shifting to the door, Jon opened it and pointed his rifle ready to open fire, but there was no person waiting for him with a weapon. Following the direction of the fresh blood on the floor, he looked at a man in the corner of the room dying with bated breath.

Seeing this, Jon lowered his gun and drew his silenced pistol as he pointed it at the man who was apparently on his last breaths. With a cold expression, he slowly approached to see if he could get any more information.

"I've... I thought I had escaped your pursuit, I guess this is the end of me..."

Hearing the man's words, Jon could see the mark on his forehead and asked, "What does that mark on your forehead mean and why did you attack us?"

The man held his leg in pain, looked up and saw Jon with a smirk, "Someone like you wouldn't understand, we really thought we could kill you, steal your stuff and then eat the healthier ones."

"Just like the others, hahaha..."

"The others?" Jon frowned as he heard those words, not sure what he was imagining about hearing the man's words.

"Haha, my people will kill them all, remember the wolves are coming." With those last words, the man pulled a gun behind his leg but Jon's reaction was quicker and he shot him in the head.

"Bang!"

With the sound of a silenced gun, the bullet penetrated the forehead of the man on the ground and blood spewed out of his head. Seeing that the job was finished, Jon didn't want to stay in this place anymore.

However, due to the number of walkers behind him, he had to take care of them before leaving. On the way out, if there are walkers he must be careful not to get bitten.

"Bang!"

On the way back, Jon took out some pesky walkers. After dealing with the fallen walkers, Airon looked up the stairs to the exit and checked that there were more walkers on the street.

Jon leaned lightly on the handrail of the stairs.

"Zz... Jon, what's the situation?"

Just as Jon was watching the door, the radio in his chest beeped and asked him about the situation. Sighing slightly, he picked up the radio and reported, "Sir, the target was found and eliminated, I am currently on my way back."

"Zz... That's perfect, is there anything I should know?" Airon's voice was heard from the other side of the intercom.

"Zz... No sir, just that this group is not normal at all. Apparently they are cannibals, I guess before they found us they found another group of survivors that were near our location."

"Get back as soon as possible, we are surveying the terrain for resources and find out something more about that group that attacked us." Airon ordered directly.

"I understand sir."

...

So far, Airon and the others had gone in checking the corpses of the men sentencing the wolf group for important resources. They were dead, so anything that was important should be in their hands.

With George's help and Bob's skills, Merle's wound was healed and Ravi's condition, which was more delicate, was also stabilized. In the modified RV remained Sasha, Tyreese, Bob and George who was in the driver's seat of the modified RV.

The other roads were left in the hands of Maggie, Michonne, Glenn and Carlos who until now was green from the scare a moment ago. He still remembered the situation in Atlanta when he was saved by Airon's group, and now this situation made him remember things from the past.

Just as Airon and Daryl were walking towards a building where the people who attacked them had possibly been, they both slowly approached. Just as Airon was about to enter the building, in the distance he saw a figure approaching and that was Jon.

Jon had received a reminder from George earlier, knowing that those who were injured had been stabilized, he hurried back to catch up with the group.

"You're here!"

"Yes!"

"Let's get in and not waste any time." Daryl said as he would have the way into the building.

This let Jon know that this building could be a spot where the enemies are and he went inside the building. Along the way, some movement from some walkers caught the group's attention and Jon along with Daryl quietly eliminated them out.

When they broke into the second floor, the trio advanced and saw a group of infected people's corpses lying densely in a room, and Airon, who was a bit doubtful that this building had human activity, sighed and knew that people had been in this place.

"Wait..."

Seeing Glenn run in, Airon waved him over, indicating that the other party shouldn't come for the moment. Glenn nodded and waited at the entrance, they finished solving the problems outside and came to support the group.

Raising the assault rifle in his hand, Airon hit an approaching walker who suddenly burst into the room to the ground with a blow from the butt of the gun, raised his foot and stomped hard on the head, and resolved it. "There are still some walkers in this building, we need to resolve them before we get distracted by other things."

After he finished speaking, he put the rifle behind his back, pulled out the dagger, took a few steps to the stairs of the third floor, and stabbed a walker in the head with a knife, pushing the corpse forward, blocking another approaching walker.

"!Auge"

With the sound of an arrow, one of the walkers approaching from behind him was taken out by Daryl and also moved to the other side. Jon and Glenn didn't stop either and began to eliminate the walkers here.

Airon on his side reached out fiercely and pinched the throat of a walker approaching him from the side. Airon used the strength of his left hand and with his right hand pierced the head easily.

Immediately after, Airon turned his body to the side, and the walker that was blocked by the corpse flew out of the window and out of the building.

Throwing the corpse of the walker in his hand to the ground, Airon looked down the hallway and shouted, "Daryl, we have to make noises to eliminate all the walkers in this place."

As he said that, he killed the walker that had been coming towards him again, and then kicked the corpse aside.

...

"These bodies don't have a mark on their forehead like the others!"

After a few minutes, all the walkers were wiped out and the scene for a moment got a little out of control. Picking up Daryl's arrows, Glenn couldn't help but mention that some of these walkers didn't have the W marked on their foreheads.

"They must be walkers that were already in this place when those people arrived, they're all rotten and look like they've been walkers for a long time."

After confirming what Dadyl said, Airon raised his hand and looked at the time, the hour hand was slowly moving towards four o'clock.

"We still have time, we need to go upstairs and look in the rooms to see if we can find anything that will be useful to us."

"Yes!"

After receiving Airon's order, no one hesitated and, after a confirmation, they quickly climbed the stairs.

Airon didn't hang around wasting time, he turned around and walked towards the body of the first walker.

Squatting next to the corpse, he looked at the very clean clothes and turned his head to look at the corpses of the walkers lying in tatters at the entrance to the stairs. He knew his guess was correct, this corpse was recently turned.

Airon reached out and turned the body over, and found that the other person's face was bruised and purple, obviously from being beaten, and there were several bullet holes in his left leg, which were fired from a gun in addition to the W-shaped scar.

He checked the corpse again, but found no other valuable clues, except for a few coins.

"There's nothing else..."

Airon slowly stood up, crossed his hips, looked at the corpse on the ground and sighed softly, with a slightly disappointed expression on his face, but then he seemed to think of something, turned his head and looked inside the corpse. As he looked at that dark corner, he remembered that the walker appeared from there.

Thinking about this, he took out a flashlight and slowly walked there, but halfway there, he found a long trail of blood in front of him.

This discovery made Airon a little alert, but after getting closer, he realized that there was a staircase around the corner.

To the left are two doors, and to the right is a staircase leading down, which seems to lead directly to the second floor.

Moving the bright flashlight, Airon examined the room, followed the drag marks, and saw a trail of dried blood in one corner, next to an open backpack and a crumpled note.

Seeing this, Airon knew where the walker had come from. He scanned the alcove of the room again with a bright flashlight and, after confirming that there was no danger inside, slowly entered.

"I'll follow you..." Said Daryl who suddenly appeared behind Airon.

"Right."

Going through that passage, as a precaution, Daryl closed the door softly, so as not to worry that someone would suddenly come out from behind and surprise them,

Bending down he picked up the open backpack and the note on the floor, Airon smoothed out the crumpled paper, the handwriting was a bit scrawled and still written in blue pen, but he could still make out what was written on it.

"Listen very well Enid, if for some reason you manage to find this letter, you should know that in the place where you found it there are many people, they are not kind like the others we have come across on the road. At the time I escaped, I managed to amputate my hand but because of weakness I could not continue looking for you.

When that group of people with a strange W found me, I was able to hide in this building but I will surely die because of the bleeding from my leg."

"They entered this building and sought to kill me, fortunately someone else caught their attention and gave me enough time to write this letter. Remember, get out of here quickly, dear daughter.."
