Chapter 125 - A Strange Scene

Rick and Marco ran like mad across the large field and soon reached the barns at full speed. As they ran, Rick yelled to Carol who was not far from their position, "Carol, ask everyone to get some rags or clothes, quick!"

When the two arrived at the barns, the place was in chaos, whether it was horses, pigs, cows or sheep, they were all neighing noisily. It should be known that animals are more sensitive to fear, and the sound produced by walkers can become very stressful for these animals.

Rick patted a horse to somehow calm these animals down, but he couldn't wait for the others to arrive. Rick and Marco began to remove their clothes, each garment was placed on the horses' heads to try to block outside sounds.

Many of the guards and survivors had already seen the movements of these two leaders. At first, they wondered what the two were going to do. Now, as the voices of these animals became louder, these people also instantly understood and ran toward the barns one after the other.

When they reached the other side of the prison, as they watched Rick and Marco take off their clothes and cover the animals' ears, none of these people had time to think and they also began to take off their clothes.

Then, when Carol arrived with a group of survivors and rags in her hands, they saw a very strange scene. A large group of people and guards took off their clothes in the barns next to the animals, and then hugged the animals.

Many stood around with a somewhat stunned expression, not knowing what to do with the rags in their hands.

"Was it really necessary to take off their clothes?"

...

Just when everyone in the prison was having some trouble from the horde of walkers, Airon and the others were having a quiet dinner.

Merle spit nice words at Michonne while politely telling her that her food was no good. Michonne ignored Merle as she fed the children more food. An elderly man taking care of the children thanked Michonne for her kindness.

Airon on his side was discussing something with Daryl in a low voice.

"Tell me what you think?" Watching the others happily eating, Airon whispered to Daryl with a mysterious look.

"That's easier said than found! How can you get a monkey to shoot a gun off your shoulder in the first place?" Daryl held up a bottle of beer and a cigarette. At this point, he was finally able to smoke one of the cigarettes he had taken earlier, closing his eyes in glee.

Airon looked at him sideways and said, "Smoking can make you blind! But the lungs suffer the most!"

"Cof* Cof* Cof*"

Airon shook his head as Daryl couldn't imagine a monkey shooting, then walked away from him and sat down next to Bob. He looked at the distracted Bob and saw that Bob was looking in a specific spot. He followed his line of sight and immediately felt somewhat annoyed at the way these survivors were thinking.

"Ahem!"

Bob, who was staring at Sasha in the group, was surprised by Airon and when he saw that face staring at him, the food in his hands almost fell to the ground. When he looked at Airon, he quickly raised his plate and filled his mouth with food.

Airon felt really strange, would he and Daryl be the bachelors of the group? Tragic, but then he asked him, "Have you been attracted to our sniper girl?"

"Ahem, ahem..."

This time it was Bob's turn to choke, he really choked, he didn't expect this leader to be so observant, he smiled awkwardly and Bob put the plate down in his hand.

"Sorry, I shouldn't be doing this."

Airon looked away, he really didn't care about this kind of thing and then asked, "What do you want for the future?"

Bob flashed a wry smile, what plans could he possibly have? He had been living day to day before. If he hadn't been lucky today, he would have been going to visit God long before he knew it.

"I have nothing to do, I worked as a military doctor before and lived alone, my previous group was wiped out and to cope with the losses I started drinking alcohol. If it wasn't for these people you saved, I couldn't have stuck it out in this life."

As he spoke, Bob looked at the few survivors beside him.

"Then it's a good time for me to share my dream and let you know!" Airon planned to get straight to the main issue. Bob is a full-fledged half-military man, which can make up for the lack of a good doctor with knowledge needed to survive today. This good man is someone who's only problem was his addiction to alcohol, but it's understandable if they were in his situation.

In the original story he falls in love with Sasha, she enlightened him properly and he was very responsible with quitting alcohol. Hearing those words, Bob became serious and said, "Please tell me what you have in mind."

Therefore, Airon told Bob exactly why he left the settlement and what he planned to do next.

After hearing Airon's words, Bob's expression became serious, he hesitated a little and asked, "Sir, why are you telling me this?"

"I want you to join our group. You are a military doctor, so your skills will be required. No one here can do such deep surgeries, one or the other of us could serve as your assistant. Of course, that's up to your choice." Airon smiled slightly as he said these words.

"If you need my help, I'll definitely be able to do it!" Bob's tone became decisive.

After finishing with Bob, Airon broke away from the crowd. His first task now is to look for survivor settlements everywhere, and what he usually does lately is to sit in the car and look at the maps one by one.

Traces of settlements can be found. Although the possibility is low, it would be better than driving blind. Once you find a settlement, you are likely to discover other settlements nearby, so that you can gradually enrich your own resource map.

The night passed slowly, whether in the prison or in Airon's team, it was a sleepless night.

...

Early the next morning.

It was after eight in the morning, and Rick was still lying motionless in bed, like many people at that time inside the prison.

The horde of walkers migrated throughout the night, and all the guards as well as some survivors merely waited in the animal barns for fear of any kind of accident if they went to rest, it was not until after four o'clock in the morning that the sound of the walkers outside the prison was heard to diminish.

In fact, the number of walkers is not very large, probably only a few thousand, but the movement is slow and they would rather not waste ammunition on dealing with all those walkers.

If any of them were attracted by the sounds, they would stop in place and there would be no choice but to wait longer for them to leave.

Looking at the place around the prison where the horde of walkers passed through, it could be said that they passed through without causing much damage.

Although the wire fence was twisted in some places, it was able to be maintained, otherwise the crops would be lost.

This was good, which put Rick's mind at ease. More importantly, the second outer wall a hundred yards from the wire fences had already begun to be built, and when the wall was built, there would be no fear of a horde of walkers damaging the crops.

Hershel went out the base gate early in the morning to check on the crops outside, having lost his farm, he has now devoted all his enthusiasm to the prison's growth, especially these crops and vegetables.

After ordering Guillermo to quickly repair the outside railing, Rick threw himself on the bed and slept until ten o'clock in the morning before waking up with some agitation.

Rick washed his face and blinked his tired eyes. He finally realized the hard work that Airon was doing before. Now that he was the leader of this base, he needed to worry about everything that happened and deal with the accidents that occurred.

Sighing, Rick shook his head to dispel the thoughts in his mind. Airon trusted him so much that he trusted him with the base, so he must run this place well! Secretly perking up, Rick pushed the door open and walked out of the room.

Shane should be in the same situation, we must make things right for the future of humanity.

"Rick! You're awake!"

"Hello Captain Rick!"

"Good morning, Captain Grimes!"

On the way, many survivors greeted him and Rick also returned the greeting with a slight smile.

Rick went straight to the door. At this time, the guard at the door was one of the few that Shane had taught before he left for another shelter, Rick remembered that this young man's name was Bruno Lastra.

After saluting, Rick walked over, looked toward the door and asked, "Is the car that went out to pick up the survivors gone?"

Bruno nodded when he heard the words, looked at the watch on his wrist and said, "Well, they left early in the morning after the outside was cleared by the scouts and will probably be back very soon."

As soon as Bruno's voice dropped, the sound of an engine was heard not far away. Rick recognized the sound of the armored vehicle and knew it was from the base when he heard it. Looking along the gate, he saw two armored vehicles heading toward the entrance.

"Open the gate!"

From a great distance, Corporal Rayan's shout sounded from the car, and soon the armored vehicle stopped in front of Rick, the rear door opened and several survivors stepped out of the car.

As he saw the other party get out of the car, he realized that the team was composed of different people. After counting, there were a total of ten people in this group. Although Rick didn't say anything, he was a little disappointed. Of the ten survivors, there were only four who could help. The others were elderly and children.

After they got out of the car, one man looked around. His expression showed that he was surprised by the facilities here. After a while, he approached Rick and said, "Hello, I want to find Mr. Rick Grimes, the person in charge of this shelter. I have some important news to tell him."

Rick thought it was a coincidence. He hadn't expected the other party to be looking for him when he got out of the car. He also politely extended his hand and said, "Hi, I'm Rick Grimes, and I'm the current leader of this shelter."

"Hi Rick, Commander Airon asked me to bring you a message."
