The next day, several people went out to look for supplies in the surrounding area, some clearing as many of the surrounding walkers as possible to better collect supplies from nearby towns.
After different groups filled military trucks with supplies, some groups even went to the trouble of finding vehicles that were still in good condition to continue collecting supplies.
The materials were sorted in three different ways, food, useful materials and medicines. Under Airon's orders, everything was important and had to be brought to the prison, so no one held back and all the time they were bringing in truckloads of supplies.
Shane, who came to see Rick's daughter and to visit acquaintances, left this morning because he feels responsible for the care of the other base. Now, with him sending people to the base that Sam cares for in the city, the prison had gone from having over four hundred people to having just over three hundred.
Therefore, some edible resources that might go to waste were sent to other bases for consumption. Tyler was in charge of maintaining communications to this day, so it was of no concern to know the status of other locations.
Airon watched as the trucks came in after an initial check and returned to his room. After a long night celebrating the birth of Rick's daughter Judith Grimes, Airon had a few things to take care of before he considered shipping out to other locations.
Sitting in a chair next to his bed, Airon stared at a map taped to his wall in silence. After a few minutes, footsteps were heard coming outside the door then he averted his gaze to see who it was.
"Airon, are you planning on leaving today?" As soon as he turned around, Airon looked at Rick who had asked the question and nodded slightly in response.
He had been thinking about this for many days so it was necessary to move on to other places, there were many other good opportunities waiting for him to increase his strength and save other people.
After understanding Rick a little, Airon smiled and said, "Nothing to worry about buddy, I'll be back after a while, besides, don't forget we have radio contact."
Rick was silent and then walked into the room, he knew that when Airon left the prison, he would become the leader of this place and his orders would be the future of hundreds of people.
When Airon said that to Rick, he thought about it a lot too, not for nothing Rick is called a community destroyer. Thinking about this, Airon immediately considers again if it is a good idea to leave Rick in charge, but another part of him knew that Rick should continue to evolve so that his value would increase.
"Come on, tell me, how is your family now that it has increased one more member?" Airon asked as he saw Rick so silent.
"Well, the doctors told me that Judith has no problems and was born without complications, I don't know if I should be happy or worried when I see what the world has become." Rick sighed with a bit of anguish.
Airon originally wanted to say a few kind words to Rick, but then stopped himself knowing that this would benefit Rick in his evolution. He now has a large family to worry about, he must be determined and he knows what the world outside is like today.
When he thinks about this, Airon feels happy and sad that he doesn't know what will happen later, his anger and worries were fading as he saw that everyone understood with better and better experiences what the world outside the prison was like.
"You must be careful what kind of people discover the prison and prevent them from running away, you have to understand that those outside have only one choice, stay being survivors or dying becoming corpses."
When Rick heard these words, he understood what Airon meant and nodded his head. He knew that if one person manages to escape, what happened recently with the Governor issue could happen, it was good that Airon could visualize all the enemy's movements and decisions, but that could not be assured a second time.
"I'll take care of keeping this place safe and all the people with it, I'll do what I have to do and kill who I have to kill." Rick said as he looked Airon in the eyes.
"I know that!" Airon got up from the chair and walked to his cloak, then pulled a backpack out from underneath with his stuff ready and said, "Not for nothing did I leave you and Shane as leaders of the most important refuges in our community, everyone recognizes you as a leader and I can't keep that many lions in one territory."
"Haha, Shane has always been a great Lion long before there were walkers on the streets." Rick said with a wry smile.
"Ha ha!"
When Airon heard these words from Rick, he smiled sincerely and then they talked about a few more things that he should be careful about before meeting the group that would be accompanying him on this trip.
...
Airon only gathered no more than fifteen people for this trip, too many people would affect his ability to move and increase the needs.
Originally, Airon had had trouble thinking about how he should contact the other survivors, but then he realized that since he is a soldier, there was no need to introduce himself as a group of survivors.
"Has everyone been prepared?"
"We are all ready, we can leave when you say so."
Hearing those words, Airon nodded and decided to say a few words, so that everyone would understand more deeply the danger of this expedition.
"First of all, I am grateful to all of you for your support. This team was formed on a voluntary basis. Although there are more than a hundred people who volunteered, I only chose you from this group of no more than fifteen people."
When Airon finished saying these words, everyone looked at each other with a smile, and said, "You all have a much deeper understanding of the world outside these walls, plus each of you have experience in different fields, I hope that more than a group we are a family willing to lay down our lives for each other and support each other in this expedition."
"Now I will tell you the roles of each of you. First, Daryl, you are in charge of scouting the trail. A motorcycle has been prepared just for you, you can go and try it out later."
"Good!"
"Merle, Jon and Sasha, you three are in charge of general security and your priority is not walkers, but dangerous humans. You all have special places to sleep inside the modified RV. Sasha, your place is on the lower floor, I hope you like it."
"Elias, you will be the sniper."
"Understood!"
"Carlos, you've recently discovered that you're good with compound bows. You will be in charge of protecting the vehicles under Daryl's leadership, it's up to you two to take out a few walkers."
"I understand commander, you can count on me to take out all the walkers with my master Daryl." Carlos instantly became excited.
"Good grief..." Daryl muttered from behind the group.
Airon smiled and nodded, he really liked this young man, then looked at Michonne standing next to him.
"Michonne, you can have the role of cook and I can help you with that, as well as you can join the fight when you're free!"
Michonne nodded nonchalantly.
"Glenn, Maggie, you two will be in charge of developing and executing prevention, protection, combat activities."
"Billy Fisher, you are responsible for the daily maintenance of the vehicle, I don't want the car breaking down halfway through!"
"Roger that, boss!"
Finally, Airon looked at the two remaining people and said, "Tyreese and T-dog, you two and Michonne are in charge of the melee. If the team stops to rest, you need to cooperate with Daryl and the others to complete the defensive work together!"
"Roger that, Captain!"
At the end, Airon looked at the excited George with his big beard and said a little speechless, "George, as always you are in charge of driving! You have good skills and I have always trusted you for that role, no need to say more words."
Hearing Airon's words, George immediately patted his chest and promised, "Don't worry, boss, as always I like to follow you!"
Airon was silent as he watched George get excited, then smiled and nodded as he thought of all they have experienced together.
On this trip, he planned to incorporate a lot of forces in Virginia. After all, there were many people there from the original work in which they could be useful to him.
If he passed up these opportunities, he could barely and barely survive the threat of CRM, maybe he could oppose them if the deal was bad, but without many important people he was not sure he could make it.
When he goes this time, Airon knows that he will face many forces and the situation will be very complicated, so he must be fully prepared, but nothing is absolute and I can not take into account all aspects.
As for future events, if his strength grows in Atlanta, he is sure he could resist strongly.
After thinking about it, Airon returned to his room and began to plan his next plans.
