Listening to Jose's words, Airon felt that one of the corpses had looked familiar to him, but now it was something he no longer cared about because he could not bring the dead back to the living.
After watching Jose for a moment longer, he pulled the gun from his holster, looking at Rick and then Daryl, he had made up his mind.
Rick and Daryl had immediately understood the meaning in Airon's eyes, they both agreed.
"Please don't kill me!"
As soon as he pulled the gun from its holster, Airon heard Joseph's pleas and discovered that even after he had tried to kill them, this man believed he still had hope of staying alive.
But Airon turned a deaf ear to the pleas for mercy, raised his gun and shot him in the head, the moment he fired, Jose's body lost its strength and toppled backwards.
Putting the gun back in its holster, Airon looked at Jose's lifeless body and picked up the knife lying on the ground before putting it in his bag.
"What a scare!" Muttered T-dog as he heard the sudden gunshot. Truth be told, he thought Airon would let him go without killing him, but he didn't have a problem with this outcome either.
"I spared your life once, your second chance lost its value idiot..." Airon muttered before moving forward.
The rest observed Airon's behavior in silence, and no one really objected to this outcome. Even though there were almost no casualties in the prison so far, it didn't mean that Airon's group didn't understand the cruelty of the past few days!
Airon was injured and Daryl was almost stabbed by these people, if they were a little more unfortunate, they would no longer be alive and would now be mourning their deaths.
Many were now ready to pull the trigger, this is what they usually see when they get out of prison, along with some concepts that Airon instills in the whole group every chance he gets, this really has a major growth influence on everyone.
After taking all the appropriate clothing on the second floor, several people went upstairs to take another look around. Airon found a room with obvious traces of life there, it was probably the base of the three people at this time.
Looking at this place, there is nothing of value except some garbage and the horrible smell of the whole room.
Some people in the group even found some stuff in the parking lot. A van was even parked in the back of this mall. This van should have belonged to these people where they found some food, cold guns and some guns without ammunition, but to everyone's surprise, several silencers were found.
Everyone packed these things up and returned to the car, and soon everyone was on their way home.
...
In a dark cabin.
Airon slowly opened his eyes, looked at all the people sitting around and smiled slightly. It had been a few days since the events happened in the supermarket, but unexpectedly he is now flying with a hundred people in different helicopters to the Georgia college of technology that now belonged to S.C.T.
During all this time, although they were not rich in gasoline to make these helicopters fly, for now it was not a problem and flights could be made for a while. So every flight is scheduled for the growth of the community and the development of the soldiers.
Right now many are training to learn how to survive, fight and move in a combat between armed people. The last place where people train and also help expansion in the city of Atlanta is fighting walkers and clearing new buildings before they are sealed off by Sam's people.
Currently, there are no more than four hundred people in the central prison base, in the university there were more than fifteen hundred people and in the base in the city of Atlanta there were about six hundred and fifty people training and working day to day in some major factories.
In total, within the S.C.T. community there were less than three thousand people but this was already becoming a frightening and problematic number to have a strict order. Airon, who was clear about this problem, thought of a somewhat peculiar method to get control of the soldiers.
Every five months, the soldiers would be removed from base to base, this gave Airon the peace of mind of being able to have close communication with each of them. Everyone should be in constant movement and not stay in one place, after all now they are not only surviving, but also building a future for the people who want to continue fighting.
This way, the soldiers would know that they work for a higher order and the strict rules must never be violated. Now, what Airon is doing is taking a hundred previously selected people from the prison to receive military training.
With so many people in the community, Airon also asked to work on a special combat suit to protect the limbs from bites and at the same time be able to move around. From now on, everyone would have to learn to fight hand-to-hand and cultivate an aura of calmness in desperate times.
All the tanks, heavy trucks, armored vehicles and settlements around the city of Atlanta were being cleared and all of them were being run by Sam. Buildings, unimportant for now, were receiving cleanup and all dead bodies were being removed to prevent future infection.
Some thought had been going into it and for now, it wasn't good to expand through the city because of the very small amount of people in the community with knowledge of weapons. So Airon changed his plan of advance, for now only concentrating on the factories and strategic points where hidden bases would be opened.
Having that, he will proceed to clean entire buildings with not so expert people and this will not only serve as training, but they would also be preparing a place that in the future would be the central base of the entire community.
They needed time, but at a sure pace they were all certain that Atlanta would be the goal they were all pursuing. Now, the soldiers were not mere survivors trying to protect a shelter, they were all soldiers protecting a future that not only involved walkers but humans as well.
...
"Commander, five minutes to reach our destination!"
Hearing this, Airon touched a button on his chest and the radio beeped into the pilots' headsets, "Zz.... Roger, contact base and tell them we're about to arrive."
"Zz... Roger that, sir!"
For a while now, things had changed and people stopped calling him captain like they used to, now everyone called them commander and that was something that didn't bother him. After all, there were now shelter leaders and he was above them all.
Minutes later, the helicopters descended the sky slowly and came down to a flat ground outside the Georgia College of Technology, you could see that there were people outside the college curious to know who was the commander leading the S.C.T. community.
As the helicopters descended, Airon stood and waited for the rear door of the helicopter to be opened. After it opened, he slowly stepped out with a cold expression etched on his face. In the distance, Shane was standing with a happy smile at the sight of his friend.
Upon seeing Shane, Airon flashed a slight smile and approached the man to greet him. "Shane, I must say, leader of an entire shelter, how are you doing leading this place?"
Shane scratched his nose and hugged Airon before saying, "This place is perfect buddy, although the defenses are proving to be very complicated to build, we have enough materials to build great walls around the center as you mentioned."
"I'm really happy that if you could adapt to this place, you know you can come back anytime you want to the prison, you shouldn't strain yourself in this place if you don't really feel happy." Airon looked Shane in the eye, at this point in life he knew he didn't have an obsession with Lori like in the original story, so he was calm wherever he was.
Since Shane found out his friend was being taken care of by Airon and his people, he didn't go over the edge and took care of Rick's family until they were reunited again. But Shane knew there wasn't much for him in prison, at least here as a leader he could help people and he owed that to Airon.
After being silent, Shane covered his forehead from the sun and said, "These people need my help buddy, now I can't go to the prison and abandon all these people who were rescued from Atlanta."
It's a pity that Airon needs him in this place, as the leader of all these people he knows that Shane could be a fierce monster who defends this place with fist and sword without any problem. As a result, Airon didn't press the issue and just said, "Lori is about to give birth, you can visit your friend and see your niece."
"Hahaha, then yes I'll take your word for it."
