Chapter 4 - Can't Escape

Ratih waved her hand at Gatra shortly after getting out of the man's car. Not long after, she rushed into the yard of her simple house. As for Gatra, he headed for his own two-story house next to Ratih's house.

Every time Gatra manages to pick up Ratih, Gatra's feelings immediately warm up, even though he knows that until now, his feelings still have not been appropriately conveyed. However, because of that, there's no awkwardness when you're with Ratih. This good relationship will last long, without worrying about parting because of love.

Just out of the car, Gatra was stopped by his beloved mother. Her name is Hesvy. The middle-aged woman was hands on her hips with a look full of anger.

"Gatra! Mom already told you, don't get too close to Ratih. You're so stubborn, aren't you!" Hesvi scolded her first son.

Gatra snorted in annoyance. A second later, he replied, "What's wrong, Mom? Ratih is a good girl."

"Just can't! You didn't hear the rumors about her, did you?! Regarding Ratih, Gatra!"

"What's the gossip again, Mom? Stop listening to gossip that is not clear, Mom! If necessary, you don't have to join in the complex gathering anymore. You can't hang out with people who like to spread lies, Mom! Especially about Ratih!"

Gatra walked towards his house while Hesvi followed behind. It's always like that if he's caught with Ratih.

Hesvi never liked the woman who is currently 28 years old. Besides being known for being rude, Ratih is an orphan whose background is unclear. This false news made Hesvi always angry when Gatra was with Ratih.

"Gatra! Mom is serious!" Hesvi said again while pulling the blazer Gatra had worn when she and her son were already in the house.

Gatra automatically stopped his steps. He took a deep breath. "Mom! Ratih is a good girl. The company where she works is bigger than Gatra's because Ratih is a good and smart girl, Mom! Come on, don't get caught up in what the neighbors are saying," he replied.

"Why are you so naive, Gatra? It could be that Ratih used flirtatious ways to get into the company."

"Mom!"

"Gatra! I am very serious! And not long ago, Ratih beat up market thugs who liked extortion. Please stay away from her! I don't want you to end up with Ratih either. Especially falling in love with a woman like that, ah! scary!"

"Tsk, isn't that great? There are no more thugs in the market because of Ratih! Mom and Mom's gossiping friends don't have to be afraid anymore. You should thank her!"

"T-that..."

"Mom..., Ratih saved Gatra's life three years ago. If it weren't for her, Mom, Gatra would have died at the hands of the mafia."

"Gatra! Why did you bring up the past? And keep defending that wild girl, huh?! The prestige is already bad. Don't get too close to her, don't fall in love with her, especially if you plan to marry her, don't! Point!"

Hesvi had just left Gatra, and she headed for the second floor of her house.

Gatra shouted angrily. He regretted Hesvi's attitude, which was easily influenced by people's words. To the extent that his Mom was ungrateful for Ratih's services has been saving him. What's wrong with Ratih? Why did that woman have bad luck? She must be living in a housing complex with residents who are not friendly.

Gatra couldn't do anything and was always warned to stay away from Ratih even though the girl was good.

Meanwhile, Ratih was still silent on the terrace of her house. The position of the Gatra family's house is very close so that she can hear every scolding that Hesvi says.

"Tsk, I shouldn't have joined Gatra. Aaah! Why am I so unlucky today?!" Ratih chirped as she stepped into her house.

The state of the door being unlocked made Ratih frown. She took a deep breath, then let it out her breath harshly. She knew if her aunt had come to ask for the money. Ratih is very annoyed. She is tired. She wanted to rest, but she could not escape from all this.

Then Ratih went inside. She tried to be rileks and just casual.

Suga cancelled his movement to open the door to Daichi Lesmana's private room, which was not closed tightly. He glanced briefly and saw someone was with his adoptive father. Rinjani Lesmana Dewi, Suga's youngest sibling, come from a similar orphanage.

"Dad, do you not want to close that black business?" Rinjani asked Daichi Lesmana to make sure about this illegal business.

Daichi Lesmana was heard sighing. Then Daichi Lesmana said, "No way, Jani. Don't ask again, I have given you freedom without having to involve yourself, right? Why are you still pressing Dad to close the business?"

"Jani's just worried, Dad."

"Worry? To whom? Suga or Dad?"

Rinjani was silent.

"Jani ... don't love your brother. You don't come from the same womb, but you have been brothers since childhood. I never demand you do anything because I love you. So, don't talk too much."

"But, Dad. Isn't it that by marrying us off, you don't have to worry if Suga loves an ordinary girl or woman? That way, Kak Suga's identity will always be safe, because Jani more understands than another women."

Daichi Lesmana shook his head. He couldn't stop thinking about his adopted daughter's attitude. "Don't talk nonsense, Jani. You should be grateful for being born as a woman, that way your father will allow you to marry any man, as long as it's not Sugantara, your brother."

Hearing the conversation, Suga was pensive for a while. He didn't know what to do for Rinjani for now. Regarding the feelings that the girl grew for him, it's pretty natural because he and Rinjani don't have blood ties. However, Rinjani is still his little sister. Even if Daichi Lesmana gave permission, Suga would never be able to return Rinjani's feel.

Footsteps towards the door of the room suddenly sounded. Quickly, Suga hid behind the wall in another room. Then, Rinjani came out of there. The 25-year-old woman stopped for a moment. She took a deep breath, seemingly holding the turmoil in her chest. The next second, Rinjani continued her footsteps.

Now, it's Suga's turn to go inside. As usual, he had to report several things or get a big assignment from Daichi Lesmana. Suga's arrival was greeted happily by Daichi Lesmana. But nothing more than a laugh.

"Is there a problem, Son?" asked Daichi Lesmana.

Suga smiled. "No, Dad, everything is safe," he replied.

"The item has entered the ship safely?"

"Sure, Dad. The company is also good, in one month I will be holding a new product launch."

Daichi Lesmana nodded; he was satisfied with the brief report. He received a file from Suga. This month the company's product sales increased rapidly. Daichi Lesmana felt proud because Suga could take advantage of clients in his dark business to become real clients at the Daichi Electronic company.

"Suga?"

"Yes, Dad?"

"Sit down, Kid. You should take a short break. At the same time, listen to information from Dad."

Suga was reluctant to sit in the same room as his father. But he couldn't refuse at all. While swallowing his saliva several times, he sat in a luxurious chair facing Daichi Lesmana.

"Suga?"

Suga stared at Daichi Lesmana's face. "Yes?"

"You still don't want to kill the traitors as well as your enemies?"

"..."

"Yes, yes, I know your ways are extraordinary. You subjected them to merciless torture and sent them to prison. But, son, if you always use that method, your identity will be exposed."

Suga shook his head firmly. "No, Father. Suga has been doing that for years, and it's always been safe."

"Hmm… a genius child sure has a strong will, huh. But, Suga, may I ask a question?"

"Of course."

"Are you using that method because you feel sorry for them? Or do you not have the power to kill them?"

Suga's jaw tightened. He was silent without being able to give certainty. At least, he confirmed Daichi Lesmana's two allegations. But to nod, he could not. The suggestions he got since childhood made him afraid to put up a fight. If he disagreed, his father would beat him to the punch.

Seeing Suga was silent, Daichi Lesmana grinned. It was confident that what he asked was the truth. Although not in line with his brain, Daichi Lesmana can still accept it. Apart from never being disobedient again, Suga always satisfies his heart with the success of both legal and illegal businesses.

"Don't worry. Dad won't be angry. As long as you always run both businesses well, that not problems. Killing is not an easy matter, especially for someone with a soft heart like you," said Daichi Lesmana.

Suga could only swallow saliva.

"Suga ... always speaks formally wherever he is. Continue to build your good image. Don't speak like thugs in the market, you have to look classy in the eyes of ordinary people. Keep hiding that handsome face of yours, finish it your way for anyone who knows your identity."

"A-all right, Dad."

"Why is your tongue shaking? Does anyone know that handsome face of yours?"

Suga's chest was so tight. His gaze dropped with a feeling of extreme uneasiness.

"Suga?"

Suga gasped. "Ah ... nothing, Dad, absolutely nothing."

"Hmm… good then. One important thing to keep in mind is never to fall in love, Suga. You can date any girl, but don't love them. Because-"

"Because apart from endangering that woman, they will leave me when they find out who I am."

Daichi Lesmana laughed. "Hahaha, you still remember apparently. My son is a genius and always remembers everything in detail."

Nobody knows the fate of a person. But it can be changed, right? But changing destiny is challenging for Sugantara. What is in his life now will trap him forever. If he were being honest, then prison or even the death penalty would receive. When he continues his title as mafia leader, he will become a monster for life.

Suga's dream is simple. He wants to be an ordinary person. Mingle with many people without hiding his identity. No longer do cruel like a psychopath. He wants to live normally. But the reality, Suga could not escape from all this. And it doesn't matter that he is 32 years old; he has yet to be married.

"Remember, Suga, if you dare to disobey, I will change your two younger siblings just like you. A monster or a vicious psychopath. So continue to be a dutiful child," said Daichi Lesmana before Suga stood up.

After that, Suga left. He turned around and then stepped outside.

"I have to oversee of Ratih Kembang," he muttered between his footsteps.
