Chereads / Christmas eve (meeting the masked men) / Chapter 22 - What Exactly Is Fun

Chapter 22 - What Exactly Is Fun

Cherry arranged her clothes neatly in the wardrobe before taking a twenty minutes nap. She really wanted to head downstairs, in only Hermia had not asked her to stay indoors for some while. She picked up her phone but there was nothing interesting to see. Her mind was blank, except for an inner voice that kept whispering 'Lucian'. She kinda missed his annoying voice.

She gets up abruptly

"Who cares about such stupid rules, I didn't come here to have them babysit me and instruct me on what to do and where to go."

" How could you do this Lucian? "

" Do what? "

Lucian was still resting on the wall, but was now busy admiring his long finger nails.

"Did I really deserve not to know them, I've been with you for years."

Truly, she was pained, but now was not the time for such.

"They've been with me for years even before I met you."

Lucian stood up right, about to find a place to sit when he heard a voice that made him excited yet irritated at the same time.

"Oh, so they are your childhood friends."

"What! I believe I asked you to stay in your room."

"No, no, don't change that, you said stay in your room for some time, that I have done, at least I didn't come out the moment you left."

Cherry went on ahead to sit without a care in the world. Hermia was obviously angry cause she would have to put an end to the discussion of the masked men. Now why on earth did she agree to let the girl live with her in the first place.

" Cherry, be a good....."

"You should let her be, we would discuss later."

Cherry was not bothered by what they were saying, she took a good look at each of Lucian's childhood friends. Well, whatever she believes they are. She locks eyes with Alex and wouldn't look away.

"What! Wait, don't tell me this is the girl Lucian calls Chocolato."

Michael nods his head in affirmation.

"Whoa, I never thought there would be a day I would meet the little trouble maker." Oliver said and turned to look at Lucian with a smirk on his face.

"Well, here she is." Alex said, playing along.

They were only trying to tease Lucian.

"Yeah, you know, I just wasn't expecting it to be this soon, and in such a situation. You get what I'm saying right."

Alex nods.

"Seems like I am popular among your friends."

Lucian scoffs and turned to return to his room.

"Call me when dinner is ready."

"Hey, I thought you called us over so we could have fun together." Oliver complained.

"Is preparing dinner not fun?"

"You call that fun, even killing people is much more fun."

"Uh!"

Cherry was shocked but not frightened, he did look like he was in the army, but to call killing humans fun, well then, she really was shocked.

"Ahem, Alex literally meant killing in a game. Back then, we would form teams and compete with others by eliminating them in the game. If course, the winning team gets a reward, a physical reward and also in game reward.

Andrew looks up from the laptop, pushed his glasses up his nose, then smiled at Cherry.

"Alex was trying to say he preferred playing games to cooking, since he's just gonna make a mess in the kitchen."

Cherry was blushing from embarrassment, she wasn't expecting an explanation.

"Oh! I thought he is in the army, he has the body of one, you know."

"Army?" Andrew scoffs "he doesn't even have a license to own a gun."

"Guess I jumped to conclusions too quick. But there really was no need to explain yourself."

"We wouldn't want you misunderstanding us." he replied with a sweet smile.

Cherry smiled back at him, but looked down when she realized she was actually blushing.

'Interesting very interesting' Lucian thought before storming out of the living room.

'Why do I feel like Lucian is jealous' Michael thought, a wicked smile creeping up his face.

Andrew and Alex exchanged glances then smiled

Hermia thoughts were completely different

'So she rally doesn't love Lucian, seems like there will be no arguments between them. Unfortunately, Cherry is in love with the wrong person.'

The silence was eating Cherry up and she had no idea of what to say, luckily for her, her phone lit up as a message was sent to her.

"Guys, you said you wanted to have fun, right, I think I've found a place.
