The two remaining demons stood frozen, their muscles tensed with instinctual dread. I could see it—pure, unfiltered terror in their eyes. Their bravado was gone, replaced by the animal understanding that they stood before something far beyond their comprehension.
Julius took a step forward, and the ground cracked beneath his heel. Black lightning spiraled around his frame like writhing snakes; violet flames still flickered across his fingers. His eyes… they were voids now—hunger wrapped in madness.
The left demon twitched, took half a step back.
"You're trembling," Julius said, his voice soft, almost amused. "Do you understand yet?"
Neither answered.
Julius's eyes narrowed.
"WHO WILL STOP YOU?"
His voice ruptured the air like thunder. The left demon staggered.
"You can't do this, we're just here to save Kana, the King's princess!"
Julius grinned, his teeth stained crimson.
