Time passed by without pause, or at least if it paused Alex wasn't aware of it. And he didn't think there were any SCP objects out there able to pause it either, which just left the ancient one, someone over whom he had no control.
So no, time just passed by without much to stop it, and soon enough, a new month began, and with that, it was time for new troubles to spawn, thanks to his system. Today another two SCPs will appear, each one having the potential to end the world itself.
Or, well, even ending the world could be considered lucky with some of them. A few of the nastiest ones would do far worse than just kill everyone. In fact, some would ensure that death wouldn't happen and instead just promised endless torment.
This is why SCP-99999 was such an important tool and why he felt a massive burden lift off his chest when he received that reward.
Though, given it was a single-use item, well, the scenario where he would use it had to be really damn extreme.
"No use in being worried about it. No matter what happens, we can handle it now." He said with a fair bit of confidence in his voice. "System, summon an SCP!"
[Ding! Understood Host, please stand by as the random SCP is summoned!]
[Ding! Warning! SCP-096 has appeared!]
[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]
[Ding! Congratulations to Host for getting SITE-030, a class 3 Foundation facility in New Zealand! 500 class C combat personnel, 50 research personnel, 100 administrative personnel, and 30 maintenance personnel!]
[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]
[Ding! Host it has been detected that SCP-949 has appeared! And with that, the person of interest, Dr Wondertainment, has also appeared! Due to the existence of Dr wondertainment, is it now possible that random SCPs associated with him will appear at random!]
Alex hadn't expected that last message; it was unexpected and both welcome and unwelcome. On one hand, it was nice to know the identity of both SCP objects that spawned, as he was normally not informed of the second one. And it was unwelcome because of what the message entailed.
Another source of new SCPs, this time one he had no control over. At any moment, there could be a new SCP out there, causing who knows what madness.
Indeed, for while most of the SCPs associated with Wondertainment weren't too dangerous, many of them could, at the very least, be annoying. Not to mention, it was objects who he knew, not whatever was around or not.
Every object spawned into the world required him to ensure he was safe from them, which is why knowing which objects were around was of the highest importance. After all, take, for instance, the new SCP-096.
Before today, he truly didn't have to be afraid of it, and he didn't need to worry about the risk of seeing his face. He didn't need to worry about the other O5 members showing his face to him in an assassination attempt.
After all, even if he had seen the face, he wasn't around to do anything about it. Yet now, well, now, his face was dead. Seeing it meant you were as good as dead. Each new SCP could change everything, and 096, in particular, was a big one.
He had already been following protocols to prevent the chance of seeing his face, but now those protocols became something that he could never break. Even going outside would require a whole new level of protection and preparation.
After all, SCP-096, also known as the shy guy, is without a doubt one of the most famous SCPs from his old world. If anyone knew even a little bit about the SCP universe, they would know about 096.
He was a funny thing, Euclid class, yet nearly impossible to contain. It was kind of like the Hulk. Much like how the Hulk grew stronger the angrier he got. SCP-096 would also grow both stronger and faster the more he was in his rage stage.
If anyone saw his face, be it a picture or something similar he would kill them. He couldn't be killed, couldn't be stopped or contained. He would stop at nothing to reach and kill anyone who saw his face.
Which often became many people as he would run in a direct line towards his target. Knowing where they were at every moment. And doing this run, he could run right through the homes of others, who in turn would see him.
While far from the most dangerous since he would have to run and kill his targets physically, should his picture spread, he wouldn't stop until he killed everyone who saw it, be that millions or billions.
It would be truly horrifying should that happen, which was why containing him as fast as possible was a must, he couldn't allow him to be spotted by anyone, not in this age of smartphones and satellites.
It was entirely possible that should someone take an aerial photo over the area he was inside that it might be enough to trigger his rage. Something that couldn't be allowed.
"Guess I need to put the Foundation on high alert." He sighed. He knew that the others on the council would only grow more curious about this mysterious source of information he possessed.
Yet, he knew well that while it might be annoying, the mission came first, and ensuring that an entity like 096 was contained properly was a very important step of the Foundation's mission.
...
"So you are telling us that your contact, who you won't tell us anything about, has confirmed that SCP-096 has reappeared?" O5-2 asked.
"That's correct, and I believe it, which means we must act without delay and ensure that he is contained as soon as possible." Alex answered as he had connected to an online meeting with the rest of the council.
"We are all curious about this informant of yours… but I shall not start that argument here, nor now. I assume we will use the prepared protocol for this?" O5-5 said after a moment of silence.
"Since he won't speak of this informant, I say we leave this for him to deal with." O5-3 said, speaking up for the first time at this meeting.
"Agreed." O5-4 also spoke up for the first time. The two of them clearly didn't pay much attention to this meeting and just wanted to end it.
"Fine, get this over with. We will await the good news," O5-2 said in a huff as the meeting ended mere moments later. Everyone had their own things that needed to be done.
"More work." Alex sighed, having hoped to offload this to O5-5 or O5-2, but in the end, he had been outvoted, and even if O5-2 had wanted the task, it was now in his hands.
The first task he needed to do was to inform the rest of the Foundation that they couldn't be careless and that they should follow all protocols; after that, they would need to go ahead with the plan that was prepared long ago in case something like this happened.
[Foundation Notice: Immediate Action Required - SCP-096 Containment Protocol Activation
To: All Foundation Personnel
From: O5 Council
Subject: Activation of SCP-096 Containment Protocols
Priority: Critical
---
Attention all personnel,
This is an official directive from the O5 Council regarding the reappearance of SCP-096. As of [Insert Time], SCP-096 has been confirmed to be active and is currently outside of Foundation control. Due to the nature of SCP-096 and its potential to cause catastrophic loss of life, immediate containment measures are to be enacted.
SCP-096 Overview:
SCP-096, also known as "The Shy Guy," is a humanoid entity approximately 2.38 meters in height. The subject's limbs are grossly out of proportion, with an approximate 1.5 meters arm length each. SCP-096's skin is devoid of pigmentation and is highly sensitive to light. SCP-096's face is completely devoid of facial features, save for its eyes and mouth.
Key Containment Protocols:
Visual Containment:
- All personnel are to avoid direct eye contact with SCP-096's face. This includes images, videos, and any form of visual recording.
- Satellite and aerial reconnaissance are to be suspended in all non-critical areas of Class 4 or higher.
Personnel alert level.
-All personnel are to be extra careful to adhere to the correct protocols when dealing with any Cognito hazards.

After finalizing the notice, Alex sent it through the secure Foundation communication channels. He knew the seriousness of this directive and the importance of swift action. Every second counted when dealing with SCP-096.
The next part was by far the more important one. After all, the
first was just to ensure that no one got careless, but the next step was the containment itself.
Next he wrote of the missive for the mobile task forces that would be entrusted with this important task. he would be enlisting Tau-1, Gamme-12, Epsilon-11 and Tau-51. this might seem like that lot, but they needed to be able to cover a lot of ground, so these MTFs and thousands of other Personnel will also be working to ensure nothing goes wrong when they begin the plan. Which was to show a member of D class a picture of SCP-096 and then ensure that those who saw him move were dealt with while leading him right to SITE-19
[Missive for Mobile Task Forces - SCP-096 Containment Operation
To: MTF Tau-1, Gamma-12, Epsilon-11, and Tau-51 Commanders
From: O5-1,
Subject: Critical Containment Operation for SCP-096
Priority: Highest
---
Attention all commanders and personnel,
The reappearance of SCP-096, also known as "The Shy Guy," necessitates an immediate and comprehensive containment operation. Due to the extreme danger posed by SCP-096, a coordinated effort across multiple Mobile Task Forces (MTFs) is required to ensure the successful containment of this anomaly.
Assigned Mobile Task Forces:
- MTF Tau-1 ("Big Brother"): Primary containment team specialized in handling SCP-096.
- MTF Gamma-12 ("Wave Riders"): Support team for non-visual tracking and area security.
- MTF Epsilon-11 ("Nine-Tailed Fox"): Rapid response and perimeter defense.
- MTF Tau-51 ("Urban Raiders"): Urban operations and civilian evacuation.
Objective:
Secure, contain, and transport SCP-096 to SITE-19 with minimal collateral damage and no exposure to the general public.
Operational Plan:
Controlled Exposure and Tracking:
- A designated D-class personnel will be shown an image of SCP-096 in a controlled environment. This will trigger SCP-096's rage state and initiate its movement towards the D-class target.
- MTF Epsilon-11 and MTF Tau-51 will coordinate to clear SCP-096's path, ensuring no civilians or unauthorized personnel are exposed.
Termination of risk factors.
MTF Tau-1 will work with MTF Gamme-12 to ensure that none have recorded or seen the face of SCP-096. They are allowed to use any means and are to ensure that there is no risk of future containment breaches. Should they need it, MTF Alpha-8 has been alerted to assist as a last resort.
Transport to SITE-19:
- SCP-096 will be guided to SITE-19 via a pre-determined route, minimizing the risk of exposure.
- All teams will work together to secure and transport SCP-096 without incident.
Incident Response and Containment:
- MTF Epsilon-11 will handle any breaches or emergencies during the operation.
- MTF Tau-51 will manage urban operations, including evacuations and maintaining public order.
Post-Containment Procedures:
- Upon successful arrival at SITE-19, SCP-096 will be placed in a high-security containment cell.
- All data, including visual and non-visual recordings, will be reviewed and secured.
- Decontamination protocols will be followed for all personnel involved in the operation.
Personnel and Resources:
Thousands of additional personnel, including security, research, and administrative staff, will be deployed to support the operation. Resources allocated include non-visual tracking equipment, secure transport units, and emergency response kits.
Command and Communication:
- Commanders of the assigned MTFs will report directly to O5-1 and the Site Director of SITE-19.
- Continuous communication will be maintained throughout the operation, with regular status updates provided to ensure coordination and quick response to any incidents.
Final Notes:
The successful containment of SCP-096 is critical to preventing widespread casualties and maintaining the secrecy of our operations. Your expertise and dedication are vital to the success of this mission. Follow protocols rigorously, and prioritize the safety of our personnel and the public.
