Chapter 127 - Pym's new obsession -123

Alexander had fully expected to be called to answer for his actions concerning SCP-99999. It was an object of such importance that the rest of the council would no doubt be furious that he had not told them about it sooner.

Furious that he had not allowed them to weigh in on the decision of what to do with it. Furious that he had not given it to them.

For it was indeed an item worthy of fighting over even between them, which is why he had ensured that it was embedded within his own chest cavity before he allowed them to know of its existence.

So he had to endure yet another shouting match which mainly consisted of those four shouting at him and him just waiting until it was over. Thankfully, though, O5-5 had upheld her promise, and the Ethics Committee had not bothered him about it.

You know, by the time it was done and he was once again back home, it was also once again time for the unfortunate monthly summoning, which wasn't made any less unfortunate by the ever-increasing number of objects out there on the loose.

So, thankfully, SCP-O49 had been successfully contained, which wasn't really that difficult. Most objects weren't that difficult to contain except, of course, Keter's class ones. The difficulty mostly came in finding the damned things.

Even now, two months have passed since this so-called update began to his locating tool. And it still isn't done, and he still has no ability to get any information about their locations.

So yeah, containment was slow, but at least the world hadn't ended yet. Given that the old man's son and his representation of the very sun itself were out there on the loose, unfound, and could be attacked and killed at any moment, Alex did fear for the future of the world.

Finding him was a priority, as was getting DNA samplings of his entire family so they could look into even just possible to create replacements. Or just ensure that SCP-2000 had his sample in it so that if the worst were to happen, they could clone him.

"System, let's get this over with; please perform the monthly summoning."

[Ding! Understood, Host, please stand by as the random SCP is summoned!]

[Ding! Warning! SCP-079 has appeared!]

[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for getting SITE-505, a class 3 Foundation facility in Nigeria! 500 class C combat personnel, 50 research personnel, 100 administrative personnel, and 30 maintenance personnel!]

[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]

The normally summoned SCP-079 was an interesting one. A self-evolving, rapidly learning AI that was potentially hostile to humanity could cause an enormous amount of damage.

After all, there was an entire Avengers movie about a rogue AI, not to mention countless other movies about AI going rogue and then deciding to slaughter humanity.

So yes, this object was potentially extremely dangerous, but it was also currently extremely outdated hardware. It was honestly hard to even imagine such an advanced AI running off a God damned cassette tape.

Yet that was what someone back in the old world had thought up and imagined, and in his world now, that was very much real, no matter how impossible it should have been.

So, as long as the object was found before it uploaded itself into the world's greatest supercomputer, everything would be fine, which is why it would've been lovely if his stupid system had finished updating so he could find it before that happened.

"Maybe I need to ask Tony for help?" He mused that the only potential way of stopping SCP-079 was with Jarvis, the only other AI in the world.

Honestly, he was pretty annoyed that the Foundation had such a great dislike for AI since he personally saw countless possibilities in the technology. However, even though he might be one of the highest leaders of the Foundation, he still couldn't just go against its core values and then expect his subordinates to revolt against him suddenly. After all, their loyalty was not enforced by magic.

So yeah, getting help from Tony Stark was definitely a possibility, even if it meant that he had to return back to his female form and endure Tony fucking stark attempting to fuck him.

Then, of course, came the question of how he was supposed to ask Tony for him. After all, he could hardly say that there existed an AI on an old cassette tape out there that might want to upload itself onto its supercomputer, take over the world, and destroy humanity.

At least not without Tony, rightfully so, beginning to ask a whole lot of questions—questions he really wasn't able or willing to start answering. So yeah, every possible solution came with its own specific problems.

But he was starting to become used to the fact that no matter how great his ideas were, their practicality wasn't always quite great. "Guess this will just be another boring day." He sighed as he went back to his endless administration work.

[SITE-98]

At Site-98, Hank Pym had finally achieved a significant breakthrough. Honestly, he should have done that week's echo now, but he had been distracted. Well, calling it distracted was a bit of an understatement. He's been almost obsessed with the secrets of the Foundation since he learned what this mysterious SCP object they brought over was.

Oh, how he wished he didn't have to hide his research, that he could touch the object he was studying personally rather than through recordings of his spy ants. How we wish that he could just jump into his Antman suit again and do it personally.

He had to admit his body was under a lot of strain from extended exposure to the Pym particles, and he really shouldn't have entered the suit more than absolutely necessary unless he wanted to end up suffering grave consequences.

But he was tempted because this SCP object, as they called it, was fascinating in its sheer impossibility.

It was but a small rock-like object, yet when pressed against a mirror, it would open a gateway to an entirely different dimension.

He thought that as someone who researched the quantum dimension, he was at the very forefront of dimensional research, yet here, everything he knew about dimensional research was destroyed in an instant by a rock and a mirror.

Oh, he had plenty of theories as to how it could possibly happen. One was that this object collected from the Red Sea, presumably due to its name, had some intricate carvings that he hadn't been able to fully explore yet due to the distance that his spy ants had to observe from that if those symbols, lines, mathematical formulas or whatever it was overlapped with an exact copy of itself it would somehow pierce through the dimensional veil and create a link to an entirely different dimension.

Now, the biggest problem with this theory was, of course, why would it affect the entire mirror and just the mirror? After all, if his theory was correct, then it would be more likely that it would just make a small portal the size of the object mirroring the object on the surface of the mirror, not the entire mirror, becoming a portal to another dimension.

Oh, how the unknowns and mysteries of this were driving him insane. He was barely able to sleep or concentrate and work on his other projects, such as creating the special reality anchor. There was just so much he didn't know.

An entire new avenues of possible research imagine an entire dimension what could be achieved somewhere and what could be learned from exploring that place.

Did physics work the same as it did in the material world and there, or was it more like the quantum realm were physics and time and space had little at all to say?

And with more of these mysterious dimensions bordering their own, how did this object even exist? Did it come from the dimension? Was there some ancient civilization able to contact and travel to it, and was it alien in nature?

Notebook after notebook had been filled with sketches and theories over the last few weeks. He hadn't been this obsessed about something since right after losing Janet back then. He had been obsessed with trying to save her, but only two believed it to be impossible and eventually gave up. This wasn't some grief-fueled obsession. Now, a pact was, after all, exploring different dimensions, which could be essential to eventually exploring the quantum realm and possibly finding Janet if she was still alive after all time. It didn't really matter in there. It could have been like she had just entered, so it was possible that she was still alive.

He had finally finished a prototype of his new reality anchor, this one specifically targeting quantum energies in the quantum dimension and anchoring our reality from the quantum reality. IT should hopefully stabilize Ava enough for her to live an everyday life.

Given that he would then use Pym particles to shrink the reality anchor down into a more manageable size, she could then wear it as a bracelet or necklace, have it with her at all times, and just live life as she wanted.

It wasn't something he honestly thought possible; after all, those reality anchors did need a power source, and well, it was hard to find a power source that wouldn't need recharging in some kind. He wasn't willing to give this Foundation his Pym particle recipe so they could shrink and unshrink the reality anchor after charging it.

However, he had clearly underestimated their resources because they had come up with a miniature arc reactor much like the one Stock produced a few years back—just tiny, compact, and far, far more efficient. With their yet unknown element powering it, they produced an enormous amount of energy for an enormously sustained amount of time.

With this single arc reactor, his reality anchor would be powered for decades, an entire lifetime. This is also why he was not at all afraid of using pin particles to shrink it down. After all, it was serving a great purpose, and only having two at once wouldn't give away any secrets to the Foundation, which was no doubt curious about his greatest invention.

Now, finally being done with what he came here for, he was left with a bit of an impasse. Should he continue research for the Foundation work on something like the Red Sea object dimension or vibranium, OR should he just go back into retirement. After all, he had no doubt that the Foundation, with its endless resources, wanted something from him, and he imagined it to be his Pym particles, and he wasn't quite sure if he wanted them to have it.

Still, today was a day of celebration. He wanted to celebrate his work being done and little Ava's return to normal life so that he could think about the future.

[Home of Tony Star]

It had been a while since he had come back home, and he had not spent the time I had thought about. After creating a better arc reactor and getting some well-earned rest, he had dived headfirst into the creation of a far superior suit to the one he made in that cave.

Having experienced the powerlessness, the serum the Tara of being captured and held in that cave. It drove him to create something, something that would prevent him from ever being so powerless again.

Something that would become his legacy not the weapons used to kill innocents like his had somehow ended up doing no he would create a tool as suit of armour that would empower him to right wrongs to recreate a greater legacy for himself and to make those two men who died in that cave for him proud.

Along with all that hard work, he also felt that he needed to have a break soon, and it just so happened that he had been invited to some very high-end underground auction. He usually wouldn't go to such things but knowing that his weapons were out there and that someone was selling them, Tony thought it best if he actually went this time afterward.

Something this large scale must have some expensive and hard-to-acquire things on for sale, and what was more high-end, hard to acquire, and wanted in the underworld than his weapons?

Even though he had never heard about Marshall, Carter, and Dark before, he still decided to go. That left him to find out who his plus one should be, and he had a certain blue-eyed underworld beauty in mind.
