Chapter 19 - Every Step

In the eyes of the public, there can only be two sides to a woman; calculative or naïve. There is nothing in between. Depending on how you deliver your persona determines the way you are viewed for years to come. Even if you commit treachery akin to murdering a man, the way in which you are viewed determines how well you could easily fall back into the peoples good graces.

Thus, it was no surprise when not a single person suspected nor questioned the allegations she made against the man. The sheer glossy tint produced by the eyes managing to be the seller for the crowd, whom seemed to fall perfectly into her clutches like flies drowning into a pot of honey.

Not that it mattered. The crowd was simply an unintentional advantage for her situation. In actuality, the only person she deemed a suitable candidate for her plan to fall into place, was the actress simmering in anger over her notions. Continuing to let out gut wrenching sobs that rocked her body, she felt long arms embrace her closely to their being, pausing to keep a startled sound from leaving her mouth, she uncovered her eyes to look up at the person that decided to treat her intimately. Relaxing as she gazed upon Cesar Lockwood, whom overlooked the crowd with a deadly stare.

"Why are you all causing such a commotion? Get back. Your pestering is distressing to the lady."

Everyone stood stark still, at his actions and words. Not bothering to last long in shock as they knew how fierce their boss could be, they dismissed themselves. However, not before the bell chimed giggle rang through the studio as Mrs. Johnson continued on with words of defense.

"Don't worry, Mr. Lockwood. I simply told them about how you saved me."

All dispersing from their domains, an intentional seed was planted in the minds of the crew, one that will sprout to defend the vulnerable woman and rid themselves of all doubt upon Mr. Lockwood's sexuality, as no fag would have the balls to defend any women.

Once most had left, hot breath blew atop her head as Cesar murmured in an attempt to sooth her.

"There darlin', no one will hurt you...listen I know it hurts to remember, but...I'm holding a press conference to get rid of the false claims the man is spouting. I can't have him continuing with these allegations. Will you help me?"

"M-Mr. Lock...w-wood. I-I don't think-k I can." Her sob consists of a much louder volume. Squeezing a bit tighter on the man to seek even more comfort, she felt his hands rub against her back in an attempt to appear more sympathetic. Smirking internally as such actions appeared to have worked on the simmering actress whom had remained.

"Bea, Please do this for Mr. Lockwood. I'll even attend as a supporter against this wretched man. Somebody ought' to lock that pest up for what he tried to do."

Moving her glossy eyes to peek at the woman that had remained within the studio grounds, she made herself appear as pitiful as possible, sniffing to stop the pool of tears.

"W-Will you...r-remain by my side, Ms. Luther?"

There wasn't a beat missed before the actress could give her definitive answer. Her vision only flooded with the ocean colored eyes and their intense sincerity when responding.

"Every step of the way."
