Tyler's P.O.V
Sunday November 12th
It's 8:27 AM, Grayson will be at my door any second now to get me for breakfast. At 6:15 I took a shower, 6:23 got dressed, 6:27 brushed teeth, 6:30 dried hair, started packing at 6:34, finished at 8:26.
There's a knock on my bedroom door, it's Grayson, I know because he's the only kid allowed in my room (the parents rules not mine). They have two teenage sons so they keep them out, Greyson is only allowed if the doors open becausethey worry about us having sex for some reason.
"You ready" he asks looking around my bare room.
I nod and we head down to the dining room, I sit in my spot and my plate is placed in front of me. "So you two are probably wondering why we told you to pack your things" the mother says, I never bother to learn their names we aren't ever there long enough and I don't talk to them.
Grayson looks up at her and the dad while I just stare straight ahead and eat my eggs. "You two are being adopted" the dad says. Ha liar.
There is absolutely no way, we've been in foster care for years and people don't want teens they want babies.
We typically don't stay at a home long, the longest we've stayed In a while was three months and that was the worst three months of my life. I finished my food and took my dishes to the kitchen while they talked and went back to my room to feed Chewy.
Chewy is my almost one year old chinchilla that Grayson got for me to help with my anxiety. I'm not sure if he actually helps me but he's really cute and I love him.
"So I found out some more abut our new parents" Grayson says walking into my room, I look up at him signaling him to continue. "It's two dads, they have eight other children, all teens so no screaming kids" he says picking up Chewy out of his cage.
I start feeling dizzy, "Are you okay" he asks putting Chewy down, "I.. I for- forgot to take my insulin" I stutter as it's getting hard to breathe because I'm getting so nervous.
I don't usually forget to take my insulin and I'd probably be okay if I forgot once or twice, but we had a foster dad once that was diabetic and died because he always forgot to take his.
That memory has always haunted me.
"Okay, hey its okay, just breathe we'll go downstairs and take it and you'll be fine okay" he says rubbing my arms.
It was 9:48 when out new parents came to pick us up, we were sitting in a black SUV and the guy in the passenger seat starts talking. "So Tyler, your new school informed us that you're going to have to take oral communication because of your autism".
Nope not happening, "It's mainly a freshman class but they put kids with bad anxiety and social disabilities in there" he says turning to look at me so I look down.
We pull up to a house about 40 minutes later that's freaking huge, but I guess when you live with eight teens you need a big house. We got out of the SUV and grabbed our stuff we had in the back with us, Chris I think his name is said they'd get the rest out later after the introductions.
I sling my messenger bag over my shoulder and grab Chewy's travel cage, can't leave him out here in the car he'll die.
Grayson grabs his backpack and hoodie and we follow them into the house, we walk in and there sit eight teenagers sitting in the living room. Five guys, four girls all but three have a pet with them. "Okay guys these are the newest addition to the family introduce yourselves" Daniel says.
One of the guys with short brown hair looks confused "I thought you said it was going to be two guys" he says looking at Chris and Daniel. "No, we said two new kids Grayson and Tyler you just took that as two boys" Daniel says crossing his arms.
"Why don't you two introduce yourselves first" Chris says looking over to me so I look at Grayson. "I'm Grayson" he says with a small wave, everyone looks at me and I look down "And this is Tyler."
"Now that that's been settled, ya'll introduce yourselves" Daniel or Chris says I'm not really sure.
Everyone introduced themselves and pets, Baou a bearded dragon belongs to Felix the oldest, Kato a white ferret belongs to Dallas Felix's biological brother. Vivian a really happy, bubbly girl has a calico cat named Fraya. Oscar has a hedge hog named Scrup, Brooklyn has a floppy eared bunny named Angel, then there's Addison, Finn, and Paxton who don't have animals.
"Okay Tyler the girls will show you your room and Grayson the boys will show you to yours" Daniel says, "They haven't met everyone" Addison, the girl who's the closest to my age says, Chris's face lights up and he whistles and I hear paws running down the hall.
A yellow lab runs in the room, makes eye contact with me, then charges, He jumps up and I back up holding Chew over my head so he doesn't get hurt.
"This is my boy Cooper" Chris says grabbing him by his collar and pulls him back "I thought I was your boy." Felix says glaring at Cooper.
The girls lead me up to our room, yes 'our' they said all the girls share a room and all the boys share one. But they said it was huge so there's a lot of room and there's plenty of spare rooms so if I wanted my own room I could have one.
Oh god this is going to be a nightmare I just know it.
