Chapter 11 - Asher

Asher was trying to reason with Lora. She had seen the engagement on the Internet and had been so angry. Yes he had told her about it and said it was a publicity stunt but his mother just had to go and announce that the two would be getting married in less than a month as there was no need to wait. Now his lover was angry because he had not told her that he would also get married to the rich girl. She was standing hands folded in front of her with a furious face waiting from an explanation from him as he leaned on his desk hands on his side watching her in a calculated gaze. He had been silent hearing from her as she raised her voice at him for not telling him and he kind of found it sexy and he was tempted to kiss her so she'd stop talking but had stopped when she stopped talking all of a sudden causing a wave of disappointment hit him. He had however remained silent as well as he didn't know how to explain that this was all just a plan for a better life for the both of them.

"You love her?" She finally asked and based on how she was looking at him he knew best not to give a wrong answer.

"No love you are the only one in my heart I promise you." He said taking her in his arms and embracing her as reassurance.

He held her and took a whiff of her perfume. It wasn't strong but it smelled just like home and he liked it. He put one of his hands in her hair weaving it through the strands in a pattern to calm her down as he whispered sweet words that he meant into her ear. He loved her and meant everything he was telling her. He was just trying to create a stable life for them and marrying Robina would give them exactly that. He expressed to her how much he cared for her and how much she meant to him. He heard her take a deep breath before succumbing and wrapping her arms around his neck. She heard the door to his office open but judging from the fact that the lady in his arms didn't move, he knew she didn't hear it. As he stood facing the door he saw Decota standing there with a curious look and he decided to play a little. Maybe it'd make her stop thinking that she stood a chance with him. He pulled back and held Lora at arms length he told her how much he loved her and he looked into her eyes pulling her closed and holding her chin up intending to pass an intimate message to her and she got it as she closed her eyes immediately he placed his lips on hers, kissing her deeply, his eyes on Decota who stood at the door observing the scene with disdain all over her face. He smiled into the kiss and saw her turn and leave with a look of utter betrayal painting her face.

Without Decota there to impress with his prowess, he kissed Lora, savoring the feeling of kissing someone he truly loved and he enjoyed it thoroughly. He nibbled on her bottom lip and she gave him entry into her sweet habor of greatest taste which he was grateful to access. He battled her tongue for dominance in her mouth all things forgotten except the taste of love that coated his tongue. He pulled away and looked into her eyes, searching to see if he had killed the doubt.

"Just don't do anything else without informing you. And I want to be invited to that stupid wedding." She commented while looking into his eyes. He could see sincerity shimmering like little stars in her eyes and was glad he was the one who got them shining so brightly.

"I won't. I promise. I'll drop the card to you myself. It's invites only so..." he answered leaving on hand to rest lazily on her waist while he pocketed the other. She pecked his cheek and took her leave leaving him to think of the consequences of his actions.

His mind drew towards Decota's face when she left. He was sure that the woman hated him after seeing that but he didn't need her to put a stop to his wedding. He had to get her not to say anything to anyone. Maybe he'd reassure her that it was just a stupid mistake in a moment of not thinking. Or maybe he'd have her sister help her cover up that small error. He couldn't afford to blow the wedding. Not when things should have been working out even better for him. He needed to fix it. He picked up his phone but not knowing what to say he placed it back to his pocket. He needed to strategize on how to get things to work his way. He needed a solid plan that could help him not loose his wife to be, his lover and his business all in one. And he had just the perfect idea.

He called Decota's phone but just as he had anticipated her phone was off so he decided to go with his second option. He made a few calls giving instructions and for some just requested services from. Satisfied it would work he called his girlfriend and gave specific instructions asking her to wait for a package and requested her to meet him in his office. He hoped for his own sake that the woman would be instrumental to cover up his mess or else he would lose everything Sou and him had worked hard for and he wasn't prepared for that. After hanging up, he called his lover Lora and requested her to help him cover up the mess he had created and explained that someone saw them and it wouldn't reflect well. He knew that confessing that to her would boost her trust in him as they had just spoken about everything and agreed to wait a little longer for the plan to unfold before presenting her to the world as his lover. He smiled when she agreed to help him.

He smiled when there was a knock at his door and his wife to be walked in dressed just like the woman he loved was. Somehow had he not known he wouldn't believe it was a different person walking into his office at that moment. Robina's make up was still flawless and natural looking and somehow she was pleasing eye candy. He knew this one would work and Decota wouldn't have any idea what had just happened. He stood up and walked to her pecking her lips as was norm and going back to his sit.

"Have a sit love. Let me finish up then we can go have lunch before the press release." He said as he busied himself without checking to see if she had settled down.

He was a bastard and he knew it and he wasn't about to change after all it wasn't like the woman noticed. She was so blinded by the love she had for him and he knew it so he took advantage of him as much as he could. He wasn't really working. He was just stalling to see if Decota would do what he wanted her to. If she did it she'd lose credibility with her sister making it easier to work things with her later hence he pretended to be working harder than usual on his laptop even he to a point where he adjusted his reading glasses as if he was stressed out by what he was seeing. Instead he was just working with the tabloids to set up the place where he would address them. His phone vibrated on his desk and checking the content he knew that was exactly what he had been waiting for and so he pushed for Decota to call her sister and tell her what she had seen which she did because not a few minutes later Robina's phone rang and he decided to eavesdrop.

"Yes Decota... No.... How do I know? Decota I'm in his office with him... That can't be right.... I'm dressed that way... Decota you are stepping way out of line here... We can talk about this later... Bye." He gave a triumphant smile in his heart but he raised a concerned eyebrow at his soon to be wife. He had done it. He had made Robina start doubting Decota so there was no way she'd believe a word her sister said. Satisfied with that he was ready for the next step of the plan and since he had passed an invite to Decota's secretary he hoped she would be there. He wanted to see her face when she realized she was wrong and had been accusing him of things that were not there. He wanted to see if she would get jealous with her sister watching her this time. Satisfied with that he shut his laptop and got up and walked to where Robina was. The woman smiled at him trying to cover up the little argument she had just had with her sister.

"Ready to go my love?" He asked holding out his hand for her.
