Chapter 6 - CH 6 Orphanage

In a majestic and serene place filled with infinite power. All the forces existing are circling a figure, propitiating to gain even the tiniest bit of favorability of him. The figure who sits with his legs crossed and his chin resting on the back of his hands watches straight on the screen with unfaltering resolution in his eyes.

"Quite happy, aren't you? Author" A figure who hangs upside down with all of his limbs detached from his body laying on the ground lifeless. Despite his pitiful condition none of the forces and laws dare to go near him except the one who gains protection from the Author.

Ignoring him like a child ignoring the mess in the room he makes, the Author continues to watch the events unfold on the screen with great interest. Although there's no visible expression on his face, Spectators can still discern his happiness hidden which only he could and dare to decrypt. That's only because the Author didn't put any effort into hiding his happiness.

"Fine, I'm sorry. I forgot that you need to raise the affection of the person before going to the next step. I saw you are still troubled with the fights between your children. I can help you if you forgive me." Spect asked.

"And why did you think I can't do it alone?" Author scoff. Ignoring the nonsense he spoke in the start.

"Then why didn't you do something??" Before giving the Author the time to speak he continues "I said it before too. You are too kind. This is the reason you still didn't kill them or take your power back from them."

As Spect said those words he freed himself from the shackles and sat next to Author. The author turns a blind eye to his impolite behavior for the sake of their old friendship and says "They can change and with this method, some of my innocent kids too will suffer"

"Mind control" Spect offers a solution but gets instantly rejected because of the loss of freedom.

"Omniscie—" Before he could complete his sentence Author said "Who wants to use this curse? It makes everything boring and you don't need to worry about it. I already have a solution, although the chance of success is unknown as I didn't calculate, just wait and watch"

The Spectator sight at the irony of things. The author puts his entertainment way higher than the happiness and life of his kids whom he claims to adore the most. But he couldn't blame him too after all having too much power is a curse. Even your most bizarre imagination can become a reality. Even the emotions of boringness, sadness, and happiness can barely protect you from cosmic loneliness. Spect feels pity for himself and his siblings. Even the problems the Author has are created by him himself.

Spect moves his hand, semi-hugging the author and watching the screen ahead of him, and by mistake. I repeat, by mistake his hand slips. Unfortunately, before his hand could touch something else it got severed from his body. With a disappointed look on his face, Spect continues to watch the screen.

The author sees his reaction smile and continues to watch the dumb expression of Eshir through the screen.

...

After the bizarre crying voice and the creepy reply from the driver, an eerie silence falls in the car.

Every second feels like an eternity to Eshir. The bizarre eeriness in the car which starts to eat him away stays for a few seconds but eventually gets broken by the enchanting girlish voice coming from the status window. The voice was unable to utter more than a word of disbelief "Y-You..."

Eshir is equally dumbfounded seeing the first system that gets shocked by seeing its user. He thinks 'Who is she? A Spy from the Author??'

Unfortunately, he is unable to deliberate on yet another conspiracy theory further, due to the sudden stop of the car. Seeing him arriving at the destination he quickly gets out of the car. Eshir gently pushed the door closed while calling for the bizarre voice of the system repeatedly in a low voice. Seeing getting no response from the mysterious girly voice. He moves his focus on the task at hand. Taking a look at the ritual he closed the system.

Before he could even enter the orphanage all the kids who see him through the gate or hear the sound of motor, gather around the vintage model car with the crest of Lionheart and the person they are familiar with, the person who slowly becomes the warm ray of hope in their dark and cold life. Their eyes shine to see the generous and kind person again.

A little girl no older than 6 comes running to him and gives him a tight hug. All the older kids who tried to stop the running mischievous girl were disappointed to not be able to stop her. But seeing the kind person not minding it one bit put their mind at ease.

Seeing the shiny eyes of the girl as if asking for something. Rummaging his pocket Eshir picks up the chocolate candy she asked for and gives it to her. Then he slowly walked into the orphanage.

He distributed all the candies he picked up before leaving and the sweets the driver carried in a bag. All the children watching him with eyes filled with awe held him in high regard. But the reason he came here made him feel guilty seeing their admiration.

The spirit of charity?? Fame?? No. If that's what he wanted he could have donated to or created some foundation. This way he subtly sways other nobles to donate with him to achieve greater results, as well as his connection with other nobles strengthens and the rumor of the kindness of Lionheart will spread.

Helping the poor children he sees by mistake and has no interest in others?? Still no. If that was the case he have enough money so that the orphanage doesn't need any more money for the next decade. But he still decided to donate only enough so they could last for a few months.

The reason he frequently came here was to see their miserable face. Most of the kids here are commoners with no way to get high-rank traits. Most of them could only because servants, Chefs or do other mundane work. This makes him feel superior to them. Due to his mana disease, he always feels uncomfortable with other nobles and this is the place he feels most at ease. He feels like a god between mortals here.

Eshir despite himself for that, but to Pavitr all he could see was a pitiful but kind-hearted kid. After playing with the kids for a few hours and donating some money, he goes back to the car and asks the driver to go to a good restaurant as his mood is to eat something from outside today. He orders him to drive the car fast.

When he saw the menu without thinking he asked for the most expensive meal listed on the menu. While waiting for the food he read all the other food listed in. To his surprise, he knows most of the dishes listed. Although he didn't find it surprising that Eric ate something he knew, still seeing it firsthand surprised him. How much did he copy from our world? Despite some familiar food, there is still some unknown food listed telling him he is in the whole new world.

After eating the sumptuous feast to his fill, he spotted a stall selling dora yaki. It's his first time seeing it after hearing about it so much from a blue cat robot. Eshir couldn't stop himself from buying it and having a taste of it right away despite being so full to not even able to eat pudding.

After managing to finish it somehow. He tells the driver to go to that place.

Till now he was following the schedule of Eshir and if he went by schedule, now is the time to go on a buying spree. But he has different plans for today. Usually, he goes to that place in the early evening but due to a gift from a certain someone, he changes his plans.

After half a dozen minutes of travel, he finally reached the destination. This is the place that is the reason for him to hire a new driver whose loyalty is still unknown. A big dark brown robe was handed to him by the driver as he started the car to go. Eshir quickly wears the robe which emits a mysterious and anonymous vibe and stands against the dilapidated wooden door.

Standing against the mysterious wooden door. Eshir moved his hand and knocked on the door in some time first and sometimes slow rhythm memorized by him with great focus.

"Come in" A mysterious low voice echoed through the door telling him to enter.
