False Dreams was a magical artifact that held countless 'versions' of their world. It was called False Dreams because those 'versions' were shaped according to the desire of the artifact's master.
It previously belonged to the Fallen Fayes' Queen, Queen Arcadia.
A drop of blood fell on the cracked surface of the pocket watch. As soon as it touched the watch, the artifact glowed a strange color of green. The light from the pocket watch rose from the item and floated towards Dawa's eyes. It stopped in front of his left eye and hovered there for a moment, before directly plunging into Dawa's eye.
Queen Arcadia covered her left eye but a drop of blood trailed down her cheek. "You are now its master." Said the Queen.
Now, False Dreams belonged to him.
Queen Arcadia pretended not to notice the dark and malicious light flashing across Dawa's purple eyes. "The artifact will follow your wishes. It will create a world that you so desire. " The Queen said, her eyes strained on the pocket watch in Dawa's hand. There was a fond smile on her face.
"Take care of it." Queen Arcadia softly said.
Dawa didn't agree with her words but said instead, "I will return it."
The Queen only smiled before leaving.
Dawa turned to look at the sleeping man on the bed and expressionlessly held the pocket watch in both hands. The Queen had already told him how to use the artifact. It was easy, only having to recite a spell from the Fallen Fayes out loud.
Dawa remembered the spell the Queen taught and muttered the words under his breath. It didn't take more than a millisecond before a flash of light assaulted his eyes. Dawa closed them instinctively and after a few moments, opened them again. However, the scenery in front of him was no longer the familiar bedroom of the sleeping prince.
In front of him was the sight of the glaring sun burning his eyes off.
Although Dawa was aware that the sun would not hurt him, exposure in the light has always been an inherent fear of demons. They were creatures who lived in the dark, creatures who needed to hide in the dark. Dawa was a creature like that.
Dawa immediately rushed inside the room from where he was from, which was a large balcony.
He shut the sliding doors and pulled up the dark curtains. He turned off all the lights and after making sure that the room was only bright enough for him to see everything, he finally released the breath he was holding.
This was definitely the human world.
Although Dawa stayed in the Demon World all his life, he knew that only the human world had a 'sun'. It was the reason why the human world had day and night. Demon World had no such thing and the Celestial World's brightness was different.
And also, because before stepping inside the False Dreams, he and Queen Arcadia had a conversation.
Because False Dream was an artifact from the Fallen Fayes, even though it belonged to him now, Queen Arcadia's influence over the artifact was deep rooted. And the Queen who was idle everyday; her past time consisted of reading novels from the human world. The Queen told Dawa that most of the timelines in the False Dreams were worlds that she derived from the novels she read before.
The Queen remembered all the novels she made into a world in the False Dreams and summarized them to Dawa. She said that the chances of Dawa landing in one of those worlds was high. And because Dawa had just inherited the artifact, his influence over those worlds can only make sure that he doesn't suffer. He won't have the power to change the world according to his will at the moment. Though this is only temporary, it is a disadvantage for Dawa currently.
Still, he doesn't really have any choice.
At the very least, he can rest assured that he won't suffer any pain or injustice..
And from the looks of it, he won't need to suffer from financial issues too.
Although Dawa was not familiar with the human world, it was said that the human world and the demon world were just the same in terms of modern technological advancements. Except for the magic in the demon world, almost everything was the same. So looking at the spacious and obviously luxurious room he was in, Dawa was sure that his current identity was rich. Not as rich as him, who was an aristocrat, but enough to never worry about food and clothing.
This was also something that Queen Arcadia discussed with him. Apparently, he couldn't have his own identity. He has to borrow someone's identity as his own. The good thing was that as the owner of False Dreams, the artifact will adjust so he won't have to change his name and his appearance.
This made Dawa's anger calm down. He was still infuriated about having to do this whole saving thing and his mood kept fluctuating. He either wants to destroy something or cry his eyes out. It was hard for him too.
He sighed. He still has no idea who he was. He doesn't have any memories regarding his identity. So Dawa started to look around the spacious bedroom.
He first went to the bed and sure enough, in the middle of the messy thick duvet was a phone. It turned on easily using his fingerprint and the wallpaper of two teenagers greeted him immediately.
The wallpaper consisted of 'himself' and another youth who was slightly taller with a very familiar face.
It was none other than the prince.
Dawa was surprised. "So easy?"
He didn't think that this hateful prince would be so easy to find. After all, although this world could only be considered as a fake world, a simulation even, it was still a world in the end.
But then again, Dawa could be considered as the current owner of this world. Even if it was not made by him, it was now under his hand. Perhaps it wanted to help him.
In any case, Dawa was glad. He didn't have to waste any time trying to find the prince. This was the best way to shorten his stay in this unfamiliar and overly, assaultingly bright world.
Seeing as his identity seems to be close to the prince, he immediately went to the contact list. It didn't even take him a minute to find the prince, as he was the only one in the favorite category and the profile picture used was exactly the one in the wallpaper.
The contact name was 'Kai'.
…. "What a very human name." Dawa thought in his heart after a monetary pause.
He pressed the messages of the contact and was transferred to an empty inbox.
Dawa blinked confusedly, his long and curly eyelashes fluttering in a surprised manner.
"I thought they were close?" Dawa was now talking to himself. "One sided?"
He pressed the call button but was immediately rejected.
"Oh.."
Damn?
