Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Shaolin Kongxing

For several months, Li Xiu's nine-yang true scripture had achieved great success and his energy was far beyond normal people, but he still had to sleep.

Usually when he studied secret books and practiced techniques, he would sleep once every few days.

But when Li Xiu slept, in order to feel at ease, he would tie up Xiao Zhao, who was afraid that she would run away, tightly. Sometimes he would even knock her unconscious.

That evil man usually studied secret books and rarely paid attention to her, but when that wicked dog thief looked at her with a straight eye, it meant it was time for her to suffer.

So at this time, Xiao Zhao would look somewhat excessively reactive.

Fortunately, the evil person just happened to turn back and had something to say to her.

Li Xiu gestured for the Yitian sword from Xiao Zhao's hand, while exhorting her in his mouth.

"In a moment when the fight starts, I advise you not to have any inappropriate thoughts."

"If you dare to attack me in collusion with the Shaolin people, I will no longer show mercy and directly kill you."

Although the words were plain and not turbulent, they did not sound like a threat when heard.

But Xiao Zhao always remembered the various miserable death scenes she had seen during this period, being slashed into pieces by the deep red sword qi!

Xiao Zhao unconsciously swallowed a mouthful of saliva and glanced at the Yitian sword that Li Xiu had just taken from her hand.

In the past, Xiao Zhao always expected Li Xiu to use the Yitian sword to hack towards her cold iron chains.

But now, as soon as Li Xiu took the sword and shook his wrist, she was inexplicably panicked and scared!

Looking at Xiao Zhao's petrified appearance, nodding seriously, Li Xiu continued.

"Of course, you shouldn't think about running away when I'm being surrounded either. If I want to break free, there's nothing in the world that can hold me down. If I catch up to you, this time I'll break all your fragile, slender limbs!"

After saying this, Li Xiu no longer paid attention to her reaction and turned around, sword in hand, to walk into the temple.

Xiao Zhao followed him timidly, never daring to be too far away.

"Also, be careful not to be caught by anyone. I don't like being threatened."

Without turning around, the much lighter words entered Xiao Zhao's ears.

She was momentarily stunned and looked at the young man who had only left his back to her. Her heart unexpectedly warmed.

After walking a few more steps, Xiao Zhao suddenly wrinkled her eyebrows and had a strange expression on her face.

Warm! What's so good about being warm? What's going on with my reaction to his words?

Suddenly, Xiao Zhao felt a little inexplicable and as if she was sliding towards something incredible.

After not walking much further, Li Xiu saw two monks in monk robes sweeping the fallen leaves and dust on the ground.

When he saw them, one monk greeted him and pretended to chant a buddhist sutra.

"Amitabha, this benefactor..."

But before he could finish speaking, he was pulled aside by the more astute monk next to him.

"Don't say any more, the temple gates are not open yet. How can ordinary incense visitors enter, and look, he has a sword! It's probably someone coming to pick a fight!"

After being reminded, the monk's face changed dramatically and turned pale.

He was recently ordained and was a proper monk who only knew how to recite sutras, and had no martial arts skills at all!

"What do we do?"

"What to do? Run!"

The astute one pulled the other and ran towards the deeper part of the temple, probably to find the martial monks.

Since they didn't rush towards him, Li Xiu was also too lazy to chase them and bother with the two monks.

Besides, if people came together, it would save him some effort.

Since people will come in a moment, Li Xiu no longer walked inward and leaned on his sword, looking at a tree in the spacious courtyard that was as old as the courtyard itself.

In a certain Zen temple of Shaolin, an old monk with a long beard was practicing martial arts early in the morning.

As he moved, he left behind traces of shadows, his hands in the shape of dragon claws, and each claw falling with a piercing wind sound!

Although he is a monk, he gives off a fierce feeling and his fingers seem like they could easily take a life like a curved blade!

"Elder Uncle Ancestor, Elder Uncle Ancestor, it's not good! Someone has broken into the mountain gate!"

The voice of a junior monk started yelling from afar and came all the way to the Zen temple.

"Hu!"

Before the monk could knock on the door, the Zen temple gate was already opened, Kongxing stepped out, wearing a monk's robe, returning to his usual appearance as a high monk who has attained the Way.

"What are you panicked about, making such a big commotion! What kind of behavior is this!"

The monk was scolded and glared at by Kongxing and became timid again.

Kongxing became even more annoyed at this sight: "Go copy the Diamond Sutra ten times, and turn in the evening class to me tonight!"

The monk's face collapsed upon hearing this and nodded in response.

"Didn't you say someone broke into the mountain gate? Lead me there."

"Yes."

The monk turned around and respectfully led the way for Kongxing.

If someone broke into the mountain gate and even reported it to him, it must not be a weak person. However, Kongxing didn't care.

He is skilled in one of the 72 supreme martial arts techniques, the "Dragon Claw Hand," and he is confident that he is the best in the martial arts world, with the exception of Zhang Sanfeng

Li Xiu kept his sword sheathed, using it as a short stick and exhibiting a Point Peak Stick Method that he had mastered, beating and breaking the bones of the dozen or so monks who were also using sticks.

The ground was littered with people crawling and wailing in pain.

Initially, Li Xiu was enjoying himself, but the noise around him made him dislike it and he started poking at the vital points of the dozen monks.

In a few breaths of time, the sound of bones breaking stopped and the area became much quieter.

However, the monk nearby stared in shock at the scene, his body trembling like a sieve and even feeling a warm flow down his legs.

Li Xiu frowned at the sight before him and kicked the ground, causing a broken stick to rise and shoot out like a sharp arrow towards the terrified monk. It pierced straight through him and pinned him to the wall of the courtyard.

By this time, the junior monk with Kongxing had arrived and saw the gruesome scene. The dying monk reached out towards Kongxing in protest before slumping over, his neck twisted and lifeless.

Kongxing's eyes narrowed with rage as he turned to look at the dozens of headless bodies on the ground, unable to contain his anger. The junior monk who had come with Kongxing was also stunned in shock.

Just moments before, he and the deceased monk had fled when they saw the danger, calling upon a dozen other monks with strong martial arts skills to come to their aid.

Afterwards, he looked at the man in green who was surrounded by a dozen sticks, yet remained composed and calm. He couldn't help but feel a sudden desire to go and ask Kongxing's ancestor for help.

Before the junior monk left, he had advised the monk to not take the initiative to attack. He guessed that the monk had not listened to his advice, and had instead incited the other monks to attack, only to be defeated by the man in green.

As he mourned here, Kongxing's body was driven by anger and he began to fight the young man.

The Shaolin Dragon Claw style consists of 36 moves, and is inherently fierce and brutal.

Infused with burning rage, Kongxing began with the 36th and most cruel move, the Snatching Pearl, which directly targeted Li Xiu's solar plexus acupoints on either side.

Li Xiu flicked his wrist and his sword sheath struck out on both sides, faster than Kongxing could even attack.

"Pa pa!"

Kongxing's arms were struck with the force of iron sticks and were sent flying to either side, leaving his chest wide open.

Li Xiu's sword sheath spun and thrust towards Kongxing's vital point in the chest.
