Chapter 4 - That's what I want.

" I WANT SOMEONE TO LOVE ME

I NEED SOMEONE WHO NEEDS ME

CAUSE I DON'T FEEL RIGHT WHEN IT'S LATE AT NIGHT AND IT'S JUST ME IN MY DREAMS"

I shucked his hands off my shoulders as I glanced in my target's direction but he was already gone.

'Holdup, he's he a ghost or something?'

I lifted my eyes searching for him but the boy had taken French leave already.

"Fuck you, Alex fuck you, Goldie." I furiously clamored at them as I walked in the opposite direction

I raised my hand and hurled the coffee tin I was holding in my hands. It went scrambling hitting the principal's head.

*Oh no, not again, not today* I muttered scratching the back of my cranium

The last time I crossed paths with her, I dribbled coffee in her shoes and almost kissed her.

TWO WEEKS AGO,

As I sauntered down the stairs heading to the principles headquarters, My heart dashed thinking of the possible reason why she inquired about my presence.

It wasn't usual to be anointed by the principal. It was either you were detected in a crime or to be rewarded for something good you accomplished and I wasn't the type to be awarded.

It was either my secrets were out or I was taking off the prize for being the nastiest-behaved moppet in the whole school.

I wasn't bad-behaved so I knew my little enigmas were out of the bag.

I placed my hands on the doorknob, and reluctantly I knocked before walking in.

"You asked for me, Miss?" I questioned firmly standing in front of her metallic desk determined not to let her see my fear.

She was standing glimpsing outside through the window her back facing me.

"Bring me a cup of black tea," she urged, and I conformed.

Five minutes later,

Lost in my thoughts, I ambled in holding a mug in my hands. I didn't pay attention hoping she was still stationed at her previous spot and before I knew it she was crying out jerking up and down swaying her shank.

Removing both her shoes, I carried her in my hands placing her in a chair.

Just when I was about to set off to grab ice from the fridge, I slipped and fell on top of her our lips practically touching.

"Get out of my office" She yelled at me pushing me off her. I was lying on top of her

"But you haven't told me the reason why am here." I arrogantly doubted

"Get- your damn mule- out of my office"

A smile jigged along my lips as I shut the door peacefully.

'It would have been a real kiss' I thought inwardly as I strode down the hallway feeling delighted about what I had accomplished.

It wasn't in my strategies but saved my butt even though I didn't know the reason why she called for me.

Present day.

"Are you kidding me Gessa, Do I look like a trash can to you?" she clamored

My face became shocked as she trekked towards me. ' Could someone kill me at this juncture?" I beseeched in my sanity rubbing my hands nervously. I never yearned to cross paths with her again after what happened two weeks before and look what I have made myself do.

" Good morning Miss Addams!" I stuttered rubbing my neck anxiously

Well, well, well what do I have as a distraction? again, I thought inwardly as I turned my gape

'A fight' I shouted indicating at the main entrance. "Get to you later" Miss Addams sneered angrily at me before walking in the direction where the fight existed

I had forgotten my manners again and that's how I lost my target just like that. As simple as that.

One week later,

I stood beside the window of my room, looking down at the kids who were lined up in the backyard in rows of 2 ×5. They had no idea what was going on but yet I had to lead them.

All of us had different powers, different resilience, and various deficiencies. We were supposed to work jointly but I already hated them because I loved working in solitary.

We were eleven in total and my target was one of them. Lucas let him join for a reason but I hated it

(Exterminators)

It was the group I led that did all the dirty and impossible work for AOA Lucas Ajuka.

It consists of ten members and its commander makes it eleven as a whole.

I have been leading Exterminators since 2000 and that makes it 23 years in aggregate

I stepped down the stairs toward them and made introduced myself to them before turning to the smirking Lucas

"Why is he here?" I whispered to him making sure none of them could give attention to what we were talking about.

"We need him."

'But'

"No more questions G.K just do your work as a leader, no mistakes this time" he whispered back giving me a cold stare

I was 'Ton' on this mission and gave everyone fake identities as a disguise before flinching into the spaceship. That was rule number one of the Exterminators (fake identity)

I sat next to my target as instructed by Lucas.

I looked around, the faces still creepy and unfamiliar. Those faces only made me remember my last squad which exploded into a dungeon trying to save Lucas' right-hand man and I was the only survivor.

Worse of all, Lucas didn't give a shit about those innocent souls and said" Everything needs sacrifices." From that day I hated working in groups.

'Is everything ok?' asked Natasha who was sitting on my left

Natasha was the name of my former member whom I loved the most and took her as my little sister. She was the only person who cared for and loved me as a normal person apart from my parents. I gave her the name because she reminds me of her.

I let out a sigh and bit my lower lip" Yeah, just thinking about those freaking 'Hydes' that attack and kill people."

Hydes were big creatures with huge feet that looked exactly like humans but had fur all over their bodies plus long claws that I despise extensively.

" With our abilities and a leader like you, we can beat those creatures." She said chuckling

Of course, I knew we can beat them but I nonetheless knew that some of us will be harmed and may end up losing some of the children.

"What's your ability?" I questioned Natasha

'Aerokinesis'

I rolled my eyes, twisting from her to Pitt 'My target' who was motionless sitting like a dummy his hands crossed around his chest.

" What's your ability, Pitt?" I raised a question staring directly into his coffee-brown eyes

"Invisibility"

No wonder it's hard to track him down.
