Chapter 16 - Miss Addams, again.

"Shit, my legs," I cursed pulling myself in the other direction and running away from the liquid that was leaking on my face for I didn't know what it was. I rested my head on the and condemned my fate for having let me meet such a person.

Creak, creak, creak.....

Heavy footsteps of a walking woman landed on the tilted floor coming in my direction. I screamed my lungs out asking for help as I fidgeted.

"Jesus Christ GK, what happened? Why are you sitting here on the floor? Where is the nurse?" blurted Natasha helping me up.

I glimmered foolishly sitting on the bed and she helped me to lie down on the bed.

"You must be thirsty? Here drink a cup of water." She said to me and I nodded positively.

I gulped down the whole glass of water and my stomach grumbled in front of her. I was darm hungry but couldn't ask her for blood even if I knew she was a vampire too and it wasn't shameful to inquire for blood from her.

"Good morning GK, how are you feeling? Does your head hurt?" Nurse Ajuk asked me in a soft tone as her footsteps approached me.

She rested her hand on my shoulder and untied the cloth that was fastened on my head. I pinched my eyes shut, scared to open them thinking that I might have lost my sight once again.

I knew the pain more than anyone else since five years ago I lost my hearing for almost 6 months.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, and darkness engulfed the whole place then my eyes started seeing a dim light, and then I was able to see everything around me. Ajuk used a medical touch to check on my eyes and asked me to identify different fingers of hers.

"Two"

"Four" I answered as she raised her fingers in the air.

"Here" Ajuk handed me a glass of blood and a bronze tin that consisted of my medication for COPD. I rolled my eyes as she shoved all the pills in my mouth and Natasha helped me with the water swallowing greedily all the pills. Honestly, I hated taking those pills a year ago but I didn't want to show any weakness, especially in front of ladies I always wanted to act cool.

I drank the glass of blood provided by Ajuk before lying down on the bed with the help of Ajuk

"What happened to my eyes and legs plus why is your hand bandaged? " I questioned as I turned to look at the other side of the bed.

"Three questions at the same time which should I answer first?" she replied jokingly rubbing her folder.

"What happened to your hand?"

"I cut myself during an experiment."

"What's wrong with my eyes and why my eyes were patched?" I asked again turning to look at them. Natasha was standing beside her giving me a cessation look.

"What? Did I do anything wrong?" I thought inwardly smiling at her and she smiled back but everyone in my place could notice she was only forcing it. I excused myself from her turning my eyes to Ajuk who was writing down something in her folder.

"Can you give us some space, please?" She kindly asked Nat and she obeyed.

I knew she was going to tell me something I don't wanna hear but I smiled gently as she sat on a chair beside my bed.

"How is my COPD? Is it severe that I need to be admitted to the hospital right away?" I sadly asked clenching my fists. I always knew that a day will come when I have to be in and out of the hospital because of that freaking disease but I don't expect it to be that momentarily. I rolled my eyes blocking tears from flowing down my cheeks.

"I don't know what Xena injected you but it seems that your COPD isn't as worse as before and chances of it healing are high. I have been working in hospitals and I have been monitoring you but I have never met a patient like you," she announced to me.

"Should I thank them for injecting me with their drugs or should I curse them for breaking my legs and making me lose my front tooth?" I thought inwardly and that's when I remembered that I had to report everything that I found out from the hell-hole place to Lucas. It's not that I was kidnapped, I intentionally asked Liam to do it and Vincent was working for Xena so he had to die.

"But"

"But what Ajuk? Is everything okay?"

"You need to rest I will be back in one hour," Ajuk said walking out of the room, and I sighed a breath of relief after knowing I am going to be okay but for some reason, I was trembling inside.

One week later,

My leg was getting better and everything seemed to be going back to normal. I stood in front of the gates of St John's college and my eyes looked at the clear navy blue sky as the morning sun hit my face.

I held on tight to my assistive stick and pushed myself to walk since my leg hadn't fully recovered and in a week we had exams.

Goldie and Alex blocked my way asking me questions. "Where have you been? What happened to your leg? Why didn't you reply to our texts? What did you do the whole month? Any good news?"

"Come on guys, stop rubbing all those questions on my face. Don't you feel sorry for me that I am standing here in this bright sunshine? My legs are even hurting right now." I complained but I knew those guys couldn't leave me alone till when I tell them what I did and what happened. Of course, I had to cook up a story to tell them.

"Let me help you with your backpack so that we hurry and curiosity is killing me." singled Goldie tapping my shoulders

You see, I always find peace in talking to these two dudes standing beside me. They always make me forget all my sorrows.

Goldie has a teletransportation ability while Alex has an invisibility ability just like Pitt from the Exterminator team.

If these guys find out that I even had eye surgery plus my front tooth is fake, won't they just eat me alive with their questions?

"Gessa Kelvin, come to my office right now."
