Chapter 12 - SECRETS REVEALED

"I was in the West and after making various mental calculations, I suspected that you would send your men to come after me. I knew that you wouldn't send any kind of warriors and that you'll send high ranking cunning and smart warriors. I went through all your warriors and I knew there were no such warriors in your territory except the three chiefs from the East whom you had an alliance with. When they were planning how to enter the City of the West, I knew they'll use 'The Girl from the East' as an excuse so I alerted the guards of the city and told them that I was going to send some women into the city. Luckily, the Chiefs dressed like women, just as I expected. The guards let them in without much interrogation because I had already told them and because they were already expecting women. I knew the Chiefs would use the warriors as a distraction while they (the Chiefs) tried to capture me. I wondered what kind of weapon they were going to use and I was mentally prepared for anything. When I climbed the tree, I saw the Chiefs pulling up the gun but I let them shoot me; because I knew that they'll take me to the Palace, where I wanted to be. When the shot me, I was badly injured but I didn't care. I pretended to have fainted; I was locked in chains and waited patiently for you to come. I wanted to know who you are and how you are, I wanted to ascertain if you were really as wise as I feared or you were just foolish,I wanted to find out more about your weapons, I wanted to see your secrets, and everything that made you so proud and confident of going into war against all the other territories. After the brief conversation we had, I discovered that you were not that foolish. I knew I had to make you one (a foolish King), so I had to change plans. I forced the guard which you put over me to tell me how the gun was powered. He wasn't really that smart so I couldn't get much information from him. All he could say was that it was powered by a gun powder. I asked him where this gun powder was kept. I escaped from the prison and was able to steal some gun powder which I knew was your source of power. I planned on studying it, but it was more complex than I thought. When I got to the East, I came across the King of Lamias. I was very glad I did. Together, we planned to attack. You underestimated me and thought I would fall into your trap, the tree you kept there; well, I climbed it but I discovered your trick and got down in time. I chose two weeks to attack because I knew that after a long time of you waiting for me to come to you, you'll get frustrated. Out of frustration, you decided to kill the King of Lamias' relatives, I knew you'll do this to vent out your frustration. While I was busy shooting the arrows, the King of Lamias was on his way to attack you. I knew you'll shoot King Lamias and I knew you'd shoot me too, we had our plans and we didn't resist. You shot us and thought we'd die. Well here's what you didn't know about your gun; from studying about your weapon which I stole from you, I discovered that even if you could learn how to create your own gun powder, its effect wasn't the same as that created by that Woman. It had harm to your gun and its power and effect reduced after every use. I used this against you. When you killed the first person you claimed you would give freedom, I started counting, you just used the gun for the first time, that was its strongest power. I shot you an arrow hoping that you'll use your gun to defend it, which you did; you had used the gun a second time. When the King of Lamias got to the palace, you used that same gun on him, you had used it a third time. The effect wasn't that much on the King of Lamias and after going through numerous battle experiences, such pain was bearable by the King. When I got to the palace, you used the gun on me for the fourth time,of a truth, it still hurt, but I could endure it. We both pretended to be dead so that we could bring destruction upon you before the presence of the entire people of Amigo, we also used that opportunity to destroy your gun powder reserves and later burnt down the palace. When you saw us coming out of the smoke, you used that same gun to shoot King Lamias first, and then you shot me; this was the fifth and sixth time of using the gun and I barely felt much pain…." Before she could finish her speech, King of Emins shouted angrily and died. There was dead silence after the death of the King. Zeruta had to face the people. "My dear people of Amigo" Zeruta started addressing the people. "Years ago, Amigo, our great ruler shared this land between his two slaves; Lamia and Emin. The Emin had the biggest share while the Lamia had the smaller share. Of a truth, we the people of the East and the West occupy the land which once belonged to the Emins, but these lands were given to us by Amigo, our ancient ruler, due to this fact, the Emins were angry and decided to take back their lands. Their cause for anger is justified, and at such, I would not act rashly against the Emins, right now, I cease all the lands from all the territories." As she mentioned this, everyone including the King of Lamias was shocked. "Some of you might be wandering who I am to make such a statement, well, let me introduce myself; I am Zeruta, the grand daughter of Amigo" When she mentioned this, the people started murmuring but as soon as she took off her mask, the people recognized her; she looked just like Amigo. "Indeed, she's the granddaughter of Amigo" was all that could be heard from the King of Lamias. "The West, you still have your lands, the East, you still have your lands, the South, you still have your lands, the North, anywhere that is left unclaimed belongs to you. The South, East, West and North shall all have new Kings as rulers over them.King of Lamias, I denounce you King over the land of the West." As she said this, the atmosphere became so tensed, "You shall now be the Central King of the entire Amigo." she finally said. The people of West cheered for their King, of course, they loved their King.Zeruta later appointed Kings for each territory. The former King of Lamias was to rule over the four territories, while Zeruta looked over other matters. Together, they rebuilt the city of Amigo and replaced the monument of the King of Emins with the monument of Zeruta holding her bow and her arrow, aiming for the sky,and once again, the Ancient Country of Amigo enjoyed Peace under the amazing leadership of Zeruta, 'The Girl from the East'.
