Emily rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand as she walked into the living room. It was bright outside. She had slept through her alarm. This was why she loved the cabin. The peace. She and Ace could come here to hide away and not worry about anything.
Emily raised her hands and stretched and that was when she smelled it.
Eggs.
"Ace is that you?" She asked as she trudged to the kitchen and looked inside. But she paused at the threshold when she saw that the person standing over the stove cooker was not Ace, it was Sarah and she was using a dishcloth to remove the pan from the fire.
Sarah noticed her standing there and smiled. "Hey. Good morning did you sleep well?"
Frowning, Emily looked around for any sign of her nephew but there was none. "Hey. Um..."
