Vision slowly returns as stone walls seem to encompass us and a long passage before us. Ela runs ahead before she seems to drop her hips lower and bend her knees with a dagger in either hand and suddenly vanishes... Crys walks forward followed by Affie completely ignoring the little Elas disappearance as we walk along the long path. Eventually a small figure becomes apparent in the distance and we see a pig. Crys immediately raises a shield and charges bashing her shield into the pig and slashing it with her sword poor pig... Before the pig can even retaliate a small figure appears behind it and slams down both hands into a double stabbing motion and the pig releases a gutteral squeal before falling down... Not even putting up a fight. Ela quickly "loots" the corpse by which mostly means she just kinda touches it and the whole thing vanishes. From my understanding when you loot a corpse it goes into your inventory and depending on how much damage the animal has suffered you will get an amount of hides, meat, bones, etc that fits it's size and weight automatically separated into your inventory... So no butchery skill? As we move on Ela vanishes again and we quickly encounter more pigs who go down just as quickly... Butchered with little to no fight. Affie never really acts until one time Ela attacked a pig early and got thrown back before Crys charged up at which point before Crys even attacked a furious Affie raised her long stick up high and it's end glowed pure white before a chain of brightly glowing objects went flying out at once and the pig vanished in a flash of bright light. No squeal... Just a burnt smell and a disappearing corpse as Affie rushed over to Ela dropping her staff on the ground next to her as she touched her with her glowing hand and Elas health went back to full... Her shirt is still kinda ripped in the stomach area from the boar and the blood is still their but the wound closed immediately. Affie hugged Ela and kissed her head repeatedly unfortunately that also means I at chest height am now forced into Elas face... As she squirms about in protest she gets slobber all over my face before succefully escape her mothers hug... I use the sleeve of my little shirt to white my face off as Affie grabs her staff and chases after the little girl and Crys who have already moved on ahead as if everything that just happened was common place... Affie quickly catches up with the two but Ela has already vanished so I can't tell if she's gone ahead again or not... As they walk I hold my sword and start reading the pop ups about the skill "sneak" and white magic. Sneak is pretty basic as it turns out that's the skill Ela uses to vanish... Or more specifically sneak is a fetal version of stealth. A skill a thief or assassin can learn when they pick that path. I still don't know what the difference between fetal skills and the others are... The pop up about white magic throws me down a large rabbit hole called magic as I slowly try to make out how the system of magic works... Supposedly magic requires two things to start a high int and wisdom stat and a magic core... Magic cores are formed by mages of all kinds before they pick their path and make their core follow a specific element... Supposedly Affie's core is white magic... Or holy magic... Commonly associated with religious nonesense that based on the actual lore of the game all magic is kinda given by gods...
The story goes each god's light converts your magic to an element once you've made your choice however the gods don't like each other and their powers go against each other so only one magical path can be taken. However this has never really been an issue as the only way to convert your magic is to pick a path. Which requires you to go to a class trainer. You can only pick your path after you've reached adulthood, 16... Also you need to first level up and of course finish all the growth quests. At level 10 age 16 you can pick your path. The system is sadly blocking my access to individual class information... Supposedly that's unrelated to my age restriction it's just not something anyone is meant to be able to research so that the classes of the people can't be exploited as each class as their own weakness and people are meant to find that the old fashioned way. After a good while of hunting Ela flashes with golden light while smiling happily before we keep moving on... As I see that another window pops up.
*Level: A estimate of strength and growth that everyone has. Level 1-10 childhood. Level 10-50 Mortal. Level 50-100 Superhuman. Level 100+ unspecified. Level is reset with class change. While level doesn't give stat point it does give growth points that can be used to raise foundation stats.*
Foundational stats what's that?
*Foundational stats: Stats set during the first stage of the growth quest. These are commonly considered your rate of growth. They are multiplied by your level.*
Hmm so I'm not even on the first stage of the growth quest? Wait... it did say zero of three... did it mean that zero was the part of the quest I'm currently on and three is the number of follow up quests? I had just assumed it was counting my progress in the three different fields and when one is finished it will tick up one... But then again... Why would it do that? I mean I can see my progress it's not hard to figure out... Hmm... I guess that makes more sense... I guess the first stage is the most important... and I'm currently on a stage that doesn't even get a number because it's done automatically as you age... Depressing
