So for two days, Geed and Alice journeyed through the forest and finally came out of it. They walked on and came to a town right outside the forest.
"Alice, be careful" Geed warned.
As they walked into the town, they were met by a tall bald looking man.
"Welcome to Paolo, a town of merry thieves and pirates" the man greeted.
As Geed and Alice walked through the town, a man ran around screaming for the money he had lost.
"We must find an inn" Geed suggested.
"Are you crazy? Didn't you just hear what that guy said?" Alice asked.
"I heard very clearly but keep in mind that we're not only searching for the other Magi but for the gems as well and if possible the Magi Chronicles and thieves happen to be the precise kind of guys that can help us. They travel a lot, they know a lot of secrets and that's just the gist of it" Geed explained.
"Fine, I understand but I still think you're one crazy Prince" Alice said.
So Geed and Alice found an inn at the centre of town. Geed paid the innkeeper and moved into one of the rooms. That night, Geed put out the lamp and tied his pouch to his right hand with a piece of string. Then he lay awake in bed waiting patiently. Time passed and finally Geed heard whispering and then footsteps walked into his room. Geed quickly shut his eyes and waited. The intruder approached and gently opened his pouch. The intruder laughed happily after seeing the gems.
"Sleeping men tell no tales" the intruder laughed.
Suddenly, Geed grabbed his hand and jumped out of bed holding the intruder in a tight lockhold.
"And you think dead men do?" Geed asked.
"Forgive me stranger, I did not know that you were this alert" the intruder begged.
Geed noticed that the intruder wasn't human. The intruder had a humanoid form but his face looked like that of a rat.
"I am Taros, a very talented thief" the stranger introduced himself.
"I'll spare you on one condition" Geed threatened.
"Anything" the creature said.
"Tell me the whereabouts of the earth and water gems or the Chronicles Of The Magi" Geed demanded.
"I don't know much but the instructions for the forging of the Sword Of Light can be found in the Chronicles however the Chronicles have been hidden for centuries. For the Earth and Water Gems, the creatures that guard them are most vicious, I advise you to abandon any reason that leads you on this quest" Taros advised.
"Can you tell me about the Earth Magi?" Geed asked.
"She lives in a Temple Of Stone deep underground. No one has seen her in sixteen years" Taros directed. "I can lead you there but you must enter and see her alone. Only Magi can enter the Stone Temple and judging by your curiousity, I daresay you are one" Taros said.
Morning came and Geed, Alice and Taros left the Town Of Paolo. Once they were outside, Geed asked Taros for the directions to Subterranea.
"It's not as simple as just locating Subterranea. Subterranea is a moving Kingdom very deep under the Earth. You must first see the Eldest Creature who lives in the Valley Of Doom" Taros explained.
