Curiously, the bandage, devoid of life or consciousness, defied expectations. It lifted what could be considered its "head" and nodded in response to Phelan's words, as if understanding and acknowledging his intentions. But Phelan did not look surprised by this.
"I will provide you with more sustenance as time goes on," Phelan assured. His gaze towards the bandage had a hint of trepidation yet with excitement as he thought,
"It seems that OPHID is still not fully under my control. At least not yet. I need to find more 'high-quality food' if I hope to keep it more obedient in the future."
He spoke to the blood bandage once more.
"You better have something for me in return for the food."
