Caw caw caw caw!!
There was silence in the area and only the sounds of crows could be heard. Perhaps, this place was their habitat or rather they were attracted to the many corpses littered on the ground. They were hovering in the air while making sounds and did not land near the bodies of the dead people around, perhaps in instinctual fear towards the only living person standing there.
August walked toward the two intermediate sorcerers laid dead on the ground not far from him. They had wind spears punctured through their entire body and after August confirmed that they were dead, he then focused his attention on the data displayed on the system screen before him.

August stared at the data on the new sorceries that he experimented with in the battle today on the interface in front of him and was pleased with their results.
Earlier on when he fought Osslow and Garlane, he realized that their defensive sorceries could barely withstand his wind spear rain damage of 24 degrees and hence, all he had to do was cast it one more time to finish the job.
"Master August, to provide a simple analysis, in recent battles against many counterparts of yours, the data shows that you have a faster casting speed and attack power when it comes to your sorceries," Rhea analyzed.
"Like when you were in the apprentice level, the power of your sorceries reached almost reached the level of an intermediate sorcerer and now your current sorceries are almost reaching the limit of the intermediate level. This is due to your steadily increasing wind affinity."
Rhea provided a simple analysis of his current situation even better than August himself. He was happy to have a helper like her. Rhea was not finished though. " This is just a conjecture as I haven't seen a first-rank sorcerer in battle, but what I can say is that in terms of your wind affinity, it is almost at the level of a first-rank sorcerer!"
"What?! A first-rank sorcerer?" August couldn't believe what he was hearing! As far as he knew, those first-rank sorcerers were lofty existences that had terrifying strength and the power of their sorceries could affect a large area. For Rhea to have arrived at that conjecture sounded a bit fantastical to him.
However, Rhea was hardly wrong in her analysis and August continued to listen to her.
"I know what you are thinking, Master August, but I don't mean it like that," Rhea decided to explain.
"Per my simulations, there is a 95% chance that you will perish when you face a first-rank sorcerer, which is quite certain for now. In terms of sorceries, amount of magic power and so on, the difference between you and a first-rank sorcerer on those parameters is like heaven and earth!"
"However the reason why first-rank sorcerers are so powerful is that at their level, the sorceries do not entirely depend on their own power alone, but they also make use of the abundant elemental energy in the atmosphere which makes their spells stronger and affects large and longer distances."
"Here is where you don't lose out by much to a first-rank sorcerer. Your steadily increasing wind affinity makes your sorceries more powerful than the original and faster, which first-rank sorcerers are renowned for. All that you lack is a large amount of magic power and a powerful first-rank sorcery to boot."
"I see, I get what you are saying now. That is impressive!" August had a smile on his face. Rhea's analysis was spot on!
Compared to his opponents, the wind elemental particles around him respond to his will easily like he was naturally breathing and as Rhea said, this has given him a great boost. This gave him an edge over his opponents in battle and he was pleased to see the effects of this boost!
August refocused his attention on the bodies of Osslow and Garlane and searched them for their valuables and found their pouches. He then found his horse and rode back to the tower which was not too far out.
After some time, he arrived at the tower and gave his subordinates the instructed them to head to the site of the battle and recover the spirit stones and finally retired to his room.
Before reaching the door, he saw Amyra standing in the hallway. She approached him and said with a sweet smile, "I heard you once again vanquished some enemies with ease. You protected the fort once again. You have my thanks."
Her green pupils coupled with her short brown hair and curvy figure made her look all the more alluring and even August had to admit that she had a lot of charm. "I was just doing my job. Your words are too kind." August humbly replied.
However Amyra did not end there and she inched closer to August, her body pressed against him as she said gently, "That was just the first part. The other reason why I came here was to give you this.."
Right after she said this, Amyra wrapped her left arm around August's waist and placed her right hand on his neck, inching his head closer and gently intertwining her lips with his. Her breasts pressed against his chest and he could feel her warm body. He also wrapped his arms around her supple waist.
This kiss lasted for a while before their lips parted, and they gazed into each other's eyes for a long time, feeling the intense attraction they both had for each other. August finally spoke, "You didn't have to do that, Amyra."
"I wanted to. I don't know why but anytime I see you I just….feel so attracted to you. Forgive my rashness." Amyra spoke from her heart.
As she said, August gave her a sense of reliability, respect and warmth that she never genuinely experienced. All people she had met were solely interested in her beauty and were affected by her charm. August always seemed calm and hardly affected by her charm and he never looked down on her.
August was not a kid and had been in a romantic relationship before during his previous life on Earth. However, it was not rosy and he was left heartbroken. Because of that, he had some fear in his heart. Therefore he was quite conflicted.
"You don't have to apologize. Besides, I kissed you too. I am attracted to you as well and I like so many things about you. But there are many outstanding individuals out there who are capable of making you happier than I might. I still don't understand why you are feeling this way about me."
"that doesn't matter to me. I am content with the fact that you have feelings for me as well. It is you I want to be with, August." They both shared another deep kiss again.
But August suddenly retracted his lips and let go off her. "I… can't do this. I'm sorry. Let's call it a night," he opened the door and entered his room.
Amyra looked at August entering the room concernedly upon seeing his seemingly lonely expression but did not say anything. After he left, she sighed and felt her heart ache. "You still don't trust me after all, August. Perhaps I was too hasty," she thought.
August was in a mess right now. He couldn't help but think about what happened just now. He wasn't ready. He could not bring himself to experience the feeling of heartbreak and disappointment again. He was afraid.
"Forgive me, Amyra. I am not the man you are looking for."
It took him a long while to bring his feelings under control and decided to busy himself with other matters.
His battle earlier today wasn't in vain. From the pouches of his enemies, he found some spirit stones, healing potions and also two knowledge materials. They were the ice bolt sorcery and the a book with the title: Basics To Creating An Alchemy Creature.
He wasn't an ice elemental sorcerer and had no need for the ice bolt sorcery but he was very interested in the guide book on creating an alchemy creature. He decided to take a look at the information and instructed Rhea to record it into her database.
However, Rhea was silent and did not respond this time around.
"Rhea is anything the matter?"
"Forgive my disrespect, Master August. I had wanted to say it earlier but I was unsure and kept gathering data. But from your encounter and 'interaction' with Amyra just now I was able to confirm my suspicions."
"Wait what are you talking about? What suspicions?" August asked Rhea worriedly.
"Master August, although it was very faint, I managed to detect some fluctuations of spirit energy from Amyra that led me to the conclusion that Amyra is an elite rank 0 sorcerer!"
