"Dana, can you imagine that Jared actually thought I would be happy to babysit some idiot who cannot even behave properly?" Toussaint sat on the chair by the kitchen surface, looking at her friend who was preparing the food in the meantime.
"How old is she?" Dana glanced at Chyler, trying to see if she was about to explode or if it wasn't yet the time for that. "And what is so wrong with her?"
"Ah, imagine I was supposed to start working with her tomorrow." She shrugged, sipping from the wine glass and then she rested it against her cheek. "And so I decided to get acquainted, since, you know, work together. And she was... I would want to say she was just snarky, but no, Dana. She was just plain rude. Can you imagine? To your partner?"
"Did she know?" Dana slid the vessel to the oven and closed the door, starting the timer and leaning on the surface, in front of Chyler. "Because you know, sometimes..."
"I presented myself. I mean, I told her my name, and she just looked at me as if I was some sort of roach and asked me..." she cleared her throat to try to make a parody of Aria's quite low voice "...'So what? Should that tell me something?', and then she just told me she was occupied and for me to go to someone else."
"Doesn't seem that bad."
"Not if you saw it." Toussaint rolled her eyes. "The thing is, I went to Jared right after to talk to her. And you know what?"
"Surprise me." Dana smiled, sipping the wine.
"Do you remember the drug cartel case?" she asked and her friend nodded, looking at her vigilantly. "It was her. That brat barely out of her teens was the one to ACTUALLY SOLVE IT."
Dana choked and started coughing so hard that her eyes teared up.
"What...?" she panted a moment after, but Chyler just shook her head, patting her friend's back.
"That's a very good question. Rogers doesn't want to fire her, he wants me to show her how to behave and to... teach her. I am practically a babysitter now."
"Maybe she is not that bad. Maybe you'd grow on each other."
"The only thing that would grow will be daisies on her grave if I decide to plant them there." Toussaint snorted, shaking her head. "Since nobody else would."
"Aaaw, see? You already like her." Dana teased, but her friend scoffed.
"The only moment I visit her grave would be to ensure she'd stay where she is." She shrugged. "Not that I wish her death or something."
"Let's say I believe you. "Dana smiled boisterously. "Come on, we need to pick something to watch."
